Make Moves

The movers were good. Except they couldn’t get one of my pieces where it needed to go with the way our steps were, so it was a little dissappointing, not the movers fault though.

The labor team arrived slightly late and one man short (no big deal) but was professional throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, the office sent a truck that was far too small for the job, which resulted in us being unable to complete our move in one trip. The team also had to fight the small truck to load only a partial load.
Everything listed on our estimate was unable to fit on the small U-​haul (yes, they brought a U-​haul for a four BR home). Let me say that again, ITEMS INCLUDED ON OUR ESTIMATE were not able to be moved.
Of course, we also had a few items that were over looked (we’re talking boxes and an end table) on the estimate… but I would have happily excluded them if the ENTIRE ESTIMATE was moved. Our small handful of items did not eat up so much room to prevent moving nearly an entire garage full of furniture and boxes.
At the end of the day, the company management and I agreed on a one hour labor credit to offset the time the team spent arranging and rearranging and rearranging the truck to maximize space. I simply wanted to cut my losses and get what could fit moved.
Again, the team was great, friendly, professional… but the office screwed me and their own employees.
In summary, this company arrived in a U-​Haul to save money, and it ended up costing me another move and their worker’s time.

My mother recently had an emotional move after my father’s unexpected death. She was moving from the house they built together to a smaller place. Needless to say, it was an incredibly stressful time even without the packing and moving. That being said, our movers were kind, careful, and patient. I was concerned about using one of the «big box» movers– I didn’t want movers who were treating my mother like just another job. Make Moves were the real deal– Matt handled the move personally from start to finish after I had explained the situation.
I very rarely write reviews without a personal experience– who would have thought that moving would be a personal, fantastic experience? Highly recommend Make Moves for all of your moving needs!

I recently moved in to a new apartment and hired Make Moves to do the job. They were friendly, efficient, afforadble and reliable. They went above and beyond to make my move go as smoothly as possible. They made sure all of my furniture was built and placed where I wanted it and they hung all of my pictures throughout my apartment. I highly reccomend them to anyone who is looking for a moving company.

These movers were absolutely wonderful! Moving can be very stressful and overwhelming. We had to move all in one day. They were polite, friendly, and strong. Its a hard job and they conquered all of it for us. I would recommend these movers to anyone.

I hired Make Moves to move into my townhouse with my boyfriend. Their quote was accurate and their service was fantastic. The four men who showed up were personable and got right to work. They were knowledgable and easy going. They were well prepared which help to reduce the time they spent packing. They were careful with all the furniture. None of the pieces were even scratched. I would definitely recommend using them for moving.

I had a bit of a complicated move last month– we had packed our house across the country into three Pods, and needed them unloaded at a (much smaller) town home in Pennsylvania, with the added complication of not being able to park more than one Pod on the street at a time. Luckily, I found Make Moves on Thumbtack, and they did a fantastic job for me at a really reasonable price.
The three guys who came each day were very friendly and did a fantastic job. When a table was damaged because of how it was loaded, one of them even went above and beyond and fixed it for me. They didn’t waste any time and stayed in my budgeted time each day. They were also flexible about timing for me, since I didn’t always know when exactly the Pod would arrive and be available for unloading. When they got stuck in traffic and got delayed one day between Carnegie and Greensburg (understandable), they stayed in communication and never left me wondering what was going on.
Good movers aren’t easy to find, but I’d definitely recommend these guys.

Received a very reasonable quote from them after telling them exactly what I was moving and how many steps I had. The quote was 2 hours. When the movers got there they had a very small truck which barely held my stuff. They arrived at 11am and it took them 30 to 45 minutes just to assess how they were going to fit everything which was counted towards the 2 hours. When they finally started it took a whopping 5 plus hours to finish the move that included the movers lunch break which they tried to charge me for that as well. Keep in mind each additional hour was $ 75. When I spoke to the sales guy he told me he would take 45 minutes off the bill. Gee thanks. The only positive thing about make moves was the movers were extremely nice. I had 2 friends getting ready to move next month and were waiting to see how mine went before they used them. Needless to say they will be finding another moving company. I do not recommend using them unless you get a base price and not an estimate that charges 75 dollars every additional hour.

They helped me move my 1br apt and it all went seamlessly. Very friendly and professional staff. They moved me in 2 hours which was really fast. Their price was very reasonable compared to other companies in the area that I received quotes from. I’ll definitely book them again the next time I move.

We recently relocated in Pittsburgh and Matt and his team did an awesome job. It is hard to find good help these days and I would have to say that Matt and his team are an exception! Matt was extremely responsive to our calls from the first time we spoke all the way through the move. During the day of the move it was raining and Matt proactively let us know that they would be bringing blankets and make sure that our carpets would not get ruined. They finished the job in the expected amount of time and there were no surprises. I would highly recommend Make Moves for your next move! Great job Matt!

I recently relocated from Pittsburgh to NJ. Matt was fantastic! He worked directly with me from start to finish. He answered all of my questions, and made the process very easy and convenient. On move out day, everything went according to schedule, and I was actually surprised how quickly my one bedroom apartment was packed up and loaded. Matt kept in communication with me during transit as it was a multi-​day move, so I knew they had arrived safely. On move in day, the unload went just as smoothly, and they also assembled my bed. I’m so happy that I went with this company, they really made the process the absolute best it could be. Moving is so stressful, and they will take care of your belongings and give you one less thing to worry about during the process. I would strongly recommend Make Moves for all your moving needs.
