BESTHOTDOGSEVER! Me and my girlfriend just ate here and we’ll be back tomorrow! Gouda dog is the bomb! I also had a sriracha dog and my girlfriend had the all the way ones which were all 10⁄10. Great prices and service too!!!

Acceptable hot dogs, but not the best chili kr cheese toppings. Plus points for root beer float. Minus for very slow service considering its just hot dogs fries and chips!

My girls are gluten free, so it was great to find this place(Udis rolls). The Gouda and Chicago dogs are great. We brought our dog as well and she was happy to have the pooch dog. Glad to have found this place and it will be a staple of ours every time we come to Carolina Beach!

Absolutely adored this little hot dog joint. Went on New Year’s Day after a walk on the beach with our pup and they even gave her a nice dog treat, which helped with keeping her away from our French fries. Thanks island hots.

Island Hots is one of the places that is really close to the boardwalk, on the main loop, but still doesn’t physically stand out, and that’s a shame because I just had the best onion rings I’ve ever had in my life here. So if you get nothing else from this review, understand that you must go there, and get some onion rings… and bring me some, too. You can read the rest of my review on my blog at:

Yummy in my tummy!!! I tried the smoked Gouda and Chicago dog, both were delish! Smoked Gouda & pimento sounds a little weird on a dog but I read so many reviews on it I had to try it and it did NOT disappoint! My hubby got the chili dog– no onions– and loved his as well. My oldest daughter(picky eater) got the hotdog with ketchup and my oldest got the Carolina dog. There were thumbs up all around! Also got a basket of frings(fries and onion rings) to share. Those were also yummy. My daughters also saw their classmates there while we were waiting on food, and they played tag in the outdoor seating area in the back. Good food+good company= we shall definitely be returning! I’m upset that this is my first time checking them out in the 10 years I’ve been in the area! I’ll just have to make up for lost time! :)

My boyfriend and I had a total of 10 hot dogs in 3 days from here because they are so addicting. The Smoked Gouda dog is so delicious and unique. Now that I’m thinking about it, maybe we will go again today!

Island hots is a neat little place for hotdogs in Carolina Beach. I ordered a island hot with deli mustard, slaw, and spicy island relish and onions. The dog was a lighter color than I was used to and it was on a lobster roll style bun, which I liked. The island relish was spicy in contrast to the mild slaw. I also got an order of «frings», which is french fries and onion rings. The rings were great, the fries less so but still good. Island hots is nothing special, but it still makes pretty good dogs.

Great variety of hot dogs and toppings! Staff was super friendly and helpful. They were 20 minutes from closing and did not make us feel rushed or like we were a bother. Nice place for hot dogs and chips.

Best treasure on the beach. Great dogs and friendly staff. We made multiple trips while at the beach. Everytime someone new came to visit we made another visit. Best dogs on the beach.

It’s alright. Food made to order so you wait longer then usual for a dog(which is good). Fries were a nice surprise. Dogs were good not great.

The hot dogs are awesome and the staff is friendly. It’s not bad in price either. A lovely spot to eat right near the beach. The smoked Gouda dog was the best hot dog I’ve had in a while.

Best hot dog I’ve had down south period. The fryers were down so we couldn’t try the french fries or onion rings but that didn’t matter the Chicago dogs were PERFECT. The pickles were spectacular and I’m salivating just thinking about it. I only wish it were closer to Columbia!

Best hotdogs on Carolina Beach. The fact that the steamed buns they used are sliced down the middle to hold the fresh toppings are a big plus for me. The outdoor seating is clean and the view really gets the Carolina Beach vibe. Their parking by the shop is a plus for a quick hotdog lunch during the summer. My only recommendation would be to place a temporary condiment station for the out door dinning guest to elevate congestion inside.

Excellent Hot Dogs with a nice variety of dogs, sides and beers. I especially like the steamed split-top buns and the house chili. The default dog is a traditional pork/beef skinless with good flavor, but you can opt for a great-tasting all-beef dog, a turkey dog or even a veggie dog! There are a number of «favorites» on the menu like the Carolina Dog, Chicago Dog, German Dog and a couple of unique ones like the«Island Hot» and the Sriracha Dog. Of course there’s the standard«All The Way», or you can make your own custom dog from the list of condiments and toppings. There’s a good variety of toppings from the usual onions, chili and coleslaw to several pickle relishes, jalapenos, baco bits, tomatoes, sauerkraut and salsa. The condiments are fresh and they don’t skimp on the portions. If your in the mood for something other than a hot dog, Island Hots offers a chopped BBQ sandwich and Chicken Tenders. For sides, they have natural-cut fries with optional«overloaded» fries. They also offer Loaded Nachos with a BBQ Pork variant. But for us, the best side by far is the beer-battered onion rings. The batter has a great flavor and they are perfectly deep-fried. Be sure to order a batch to go with your dogs. You won’t be disappointed. Our most recent visit consisted of both a regular and a beef dog for me and a beef Carolina Dog for my better half. We split an order of onion rings. It was delicious! The chili has a nice flavor with minimal heat My wife gobbled up her Carolina Dog so fast I barely saw what it looked like! Overall, its everything you’d expect from a good hot dog shop. There’s an outdoor dining area with a great«beachy» atmosphere. Island Hots is locally-owned, so the revenue goes back into the community. staff is courteous and friendly! We have been going to Island Hots for a couple of years now. They stand up against any of the hot dog restaurants in the area. They are a little hard to get to right now because of major road construction in front of the restaurant, but there are signs on Lake Park Blvd. pointing to alternate parking. Trust me, they are worth looking for!

This place is pretty good! They have a wide variety of different hot dogs(including turkey and vegetarian) and they have chicken fingers, BBQ sandwiches, onion rings, fries, nachos, chips, and lots of drinks! They have minimal indoor seating at bars against the wall but there is plenty of overflow outside, which is also dog friendly!
