The only reason I give 4⁄5 is bc the wait… which really is a reflection of how good they are. This isn’t New York pizza or going to impress anyone from the Northeast but it’s by farthe best pizza in Kure/Carolina beach. You will not be disappointed but my only suggestion would be to have more cheese up to the crust and less sauce.

It’s been a while since we had food this bad. Waited over an hour for them to deliver and ended up with cold, crappy food. The Italian sub we ordered toasted was extra cold, the pizza was ok, but even Domino’s makes a better one, and the cheese ravioli had no sauce, dry cheese inside and a semi-melted slice of deli mozzarella cheese on top. It looked like they cooked it in the microwave and didn’t even have the decency to leave it in there long enough. Yuck! Oh did I mention the person on the phone left us waiting for about 3 minutes, then hung up, then was rude when we called again? Yeah, do yourself a favor and take your $ 30 somewhere else.

While I will admit that I’ve had a few TWO star expediences at Michaelangelo’s I have now had two incredibly bad experiences. The first was a couple of years ago so I won’t go into that one but the experience I had tonight was the last straw. I placed an online order for delivery(I live 0.6 miles away for your reference) at exactly 6:30pm. The form email confirmation letter has a place where an estimated delivery time should be but they don’t use it apparently as it was marked out with two dashes. That tells me that whatever system they use provides them an option to keep the customer informed of fluctuating delivery estimates but they don’t care enough to use it. At 7:25(55 minutes after order was placed) I called in just to check that they actually received the order. I talked to what I would wager was a teenage girl sounding helpless and completely without a shred of customer service skill ask her boss about my order and I hear that it is «on the way». Let me remind you I live 0.6 miles away. 11 Minutes later my driver arrives with my order… well, most of it. My pizza was as ordered although it was barely above room temperature and when I opened my chicken tenders there was only two of them. An order should have five. What tragic end did my other three tenders meet? Did the driver enjoy a snack on the way over? We’ll never know. It’s also worth noting that although my extra honey mustard was included there was also a ranch dressing that I didn’t order. Also, my cannoli was warm — I know where the heat from my pizza went! That’s one mystery solved but I’ll take the chicken tender mystery to the grave. I call the restaurant and at this point I’m just thinking karma told my fat a$$ I should’ve just had the quinoa salad my wife made for me but no… I had to have«good» food. I get the clueless teen again(shame on me but I’d bet the farm she was blonde and tan… hey, god doesn’t give with both hands) ask for the manager… I then get a young«man“anger and when I explain the situation and that I would like for them to come pick up the food and not charge me he tells me they’ve been on an hour wait for several hours… ummm, why do I care? Plus, I waited over an hour, closer to 75 minutes for a small pizza, an order of tenders, and a couple of cannolis. I was more irked about the tenders than the time… the cold pizza and warm cannoli weren’t even going to be mentioned. Before I can even respond this little twirp talks loudly over me and says I can keep the food and he’ll remove the charge. Ok finally! A shred of dignity saved for the saddest beachside pizzeria mankind has ever known. Still not getting a 2nd star and definitely not getting another order from me. Hey, if you got the munchies and hate Domino’s or Pizza Hut and live in CB then give’em a whirl. Just be prepared for the possibility ol’ Mikey Angelo didn’t take his bi-polar meds and was hungry for tenders. How many licks to the center of a tootsie pop? We may never know… how many tenders can be eaten in 0.6 miles on a Tuesday night??? That would be three. Peace out Mikey.

We were staying at the nearby Courtyard Marriott hotel so we walked to Michelangelos and placed an order for a pizza to-go. The location is right on the main street of Carolina Beach and you have your choice between pizza, stromboli, subs, salads and a few other appetizer dishes. The pizza comes in 4 sizes(small, medium, large and then the Godfather size). I saw the delivery man put a Godfather size(24 inch) pizza in a delivery holder and it was a huge box. We opted for the plain cheese and it did not take that long to make. I could tell a lot of orders were going out for delivery. The pizzas are hand-tossed and it was fun to sit and watch. You can dine in in one of the booths or tables and there is a soda machine for drinks. I like to judge pizzas by the plain cheese and this plain cheese was delicious. The thin crust, sauce and cheese were just right and it went perfectly with a bottle of red wine. Next time I want to try the loaded pizza with all the toppings.

Great pizza, and good delivery to our beach front hotel room. Pizza arrived much sooner than what was quoted at time of the order.

BESTPIZZAEVER!!! I go every Friday and get their giant pizza slice and garlic knots. Two knots are only 95 cents!!! That’s crazy! Love this place so much. Never ever go away! Okay???

We were worn out from the beach and decided to order in for dinner. We didn’t want the typical pizza chain so we searched online and found this place. Food was great. My husband had the meaty calzone. I had a salad with bacon and ranch. And we got an order of chicken wings and garlic knots. Everything was great! Great place to order from if you don’t feel like going out :)

Amazing pie, but do yourself a favor and order to-go. Dining room a bit dirty and cashier rather rude.

Ordered a small pizza for delivery. It has been over one hour ten minutes. Called once, was told that pizza was on the way. Called again 25 minutes later and told the same thing. They said they would credit my card back but who knows with these idiots. Don’t order from here if you actually want to eat. AND, manager said I would still get the pizza because it was already on its way… And 30 minutes later, still no pizza. Lucky there are two slices of old turkey in the fridge. Bön appetit!

A solid option for dinner! My husband and I placed a to go order and went across the street to the Fat Pelican to have a sip while we waited. In 20 or so minutes, we came back to the largest pizza I have ever seen In my life! It was called The Godfather. Literally it was the size of my car hood. The slices were ginormous– huge foldable New York slices. We also had 2 cannoli and my husband said they were so good they could have easily had six. With dessert We paid less that $ 23 and when you see the size of this pie it is a deal!!! It was a really really good choice for dinner– with plenty of leftovers for lunch. They also have eat in option and out door seating– it’s nothing fancy– typical pizzeria style. My advice is to get a Pie to go and enjoy it at home with some good craft beer. Be sure to tip those counter guys! They worked their tails off!

If I could give this place zero stars I would. On Saturday night they tell me they are not making slices. Really, this is a pizzeria and you don’t have slices. On Sunday night they tell me it’s a 2 hour wait for a pizza. This place is a joke. Don’t waste your time.

Solid pizza. but the service including the(I dropped out of high school) manager was pretty weak. Ordered over the phone and asked for sides of ranch… then when I asked for them again, they tried to recharge me… after looking at the bill. I was already charged: aging:. Good pizza but the manger is a dick.

I ordered pizzas for delivery at 7pm, the young lady(who was very polite) said it would take about 45 minutes. At 830pm I called to check if it was on the way and the same young lady said she wasn’t sure, after checking she reports the pizza hadn’t left yet. I told the young lady I didn’t want it if it was cold. She checked and said uhhhhh… at that point I cancelled the order. I was not going to pay for late, cold pizza.

They gave us 4 to go boxes — 1 was EMPTY. Called them up & they didnt believe us. The food is decent — staff was friendly on our previous 10 trips. That was our last one though…

NY style pizza. Very high quality. I love that you can get a slice just like in NY. Excellent meatball sub and cheesesteak. Pretty friendly

I’ve now had two experiences with Michaelangelo’s, both at this location, and am left wanting for more. My first experience was several months ago. After a VERY long day, desperate for food that I didn’t need to leave the house for, I called Michaelangelo’s. I was put on hold and after being«on hold» for several minutes, the line went dead. Not wanting to waste more time with a business who didn’t care about my business, I went elsewhere. The second time was this past weekend when my husband and I had our teenage nephew in town visiting. My husband placed an online order for a Godfather(AKAHUGE! and impressive to kids/teens) pizza, but I had no idea at the time what he’d ordered and trusted that the restaurant would. The online system said it would be 20 minutes but when I arrived I still had to wait a few minutes — not the end of the world, but a little frustrating. The place was PACKED and a bit disorganized, as evidenced by the line not really being a line and customers walking around without shoes on. Again, not the end of the world. When I got home there was disappointment. We each ate a sliceand my husband commented that the pizza seemed small for a Godfather, to which I responded that it was a large, not a Godfather and that they must have gotten our order wrong. I’d come home with a large pizza that was 1) Lacking in oregano and 2) Not the disgustingly but impressively huge Godfather that my husband had apparently ordered. He called to let them know about the error and initially got hung up on. The second time he was told they’d make us a small to «make up the difference» if we’d go pick it up. I’m a big fan of getting what we pay for(and stubborn and persistant) plus I didn’t want to go back out so I called back and asked that they deliver the Godfather we’d actually ordered. The very nice manager I spoke with was agreeable to that. On the plus side, they did deliver us a pizza(with oregano and apologies) but it still wasn’t a Godfather — I think it was a medium. I appreciate a local business wanting to correct a mistake they made but at the markup I know pizza has, I would think it would be worth their time and money to just give us what we’d ordered, even after the fact — they would have been out a few bucks at most and would have impressed us with their customer service. We’re locals, not tourists, so if we’d found a new favorite pizza place we could have been giving them solid, year-round business. The reality is there are a lot of pizza choices on the island so one that doesn’t really seem to care so much about their customers isn’t going to be one we support. If you’re a tourist going in for pickup, I’m sure you’re fine — the pizza was pretty decent and everyone I talked with was pretty pleasant despite being disorganized. If you’re a local looking to support the local guys instead of Pizza Hut or Domino’s it might be worth rethinking that decision and going with one of the chains who is consistent and gets things right.

We eat here(multiple times) every time we come to Carolina Beach. The food is great, the prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly, and the wait is no longer than any other pizza place. Be warned: all portions are HUGE! Pizza, strombolis, calzones, subs — it doesn’t matter! You can’t go wrong here.

Probably my favorite place to eat while at Carolina Beach. The food is always good, I’ve never had anything bad from the menu. Hands down one of my top 3 favorite places for pizza of all time. The pizza crust is thin & has nice chew to it & crispy around the edges, I like a chewy crust, but not doughy like pan pizza. The subs are awesome, steak & cheese being my favorite, it comes loaded with lettuce, tomato, onion & banana peppers w/a shot of oil & vinegar on a nice Italian sub roll. You can’t go wrong here. We usually have ours delivered to where we stay & they are usually there 30 – 45 min. from time we place order.
