Been coming here for years. It is a family run establishment and they are the nicest people. Great for breakfast and lunch. Beats the IHOP anytime

Great breakfast place. Very simple but good menu. Has a little of everything. Pancakes are good size and taste great. The chorizo burrito is pretty good too. Staff is very friendly. Very fast and courteous service. Definitely be back next time we are in town.

Went there for breakfast this am. Excellent customer service and delicious, yummy Fried rice with Ham. My husband had a traditional breakfast that was very good too. Plan on going back to try their stir fry. Excited to have a new place for us to go when we go up to Carpinteria.

Food is a step above IHOP that’s across the street. Mom & Pop Asian style. They need to remodel the Restuarant and then it could be really cute. I’ve enjoyed my meal every time.

Cute hole in the wall diner. You can order eggs n hash, meaty omelets and even ramen for breakfast! I order the green chili omelet with hash browns and toast. Cant go wrong. Huge Chunks of green chilis. Pretty standard issue breakfast food. Very clean and organized inside. Very sanitary in the kitchen which you can view from your table.

Stopped off on my way back to the Cruz as I had a craving for corn beef hash and eggs. Here’s my thoughts on this Korean mom & pop run American eatery which I give a generous 2.5 stars. Service 3 – 4 stars Woman who acts like the owner greets you with a warm smile and big hello. Gent who acts like her husby cleared and cleaned the table. She brought piping hot coffee and took my order graciously. I dislike having to ask for refills as I did here. But can be expected when lack of restaurant experience shows especially when table occupancy is 1⁄3rd full. Food 2 stars I asked for well done, crispy corn beef, wheat toast, eggs over medium. The CBH barely had a crust, the toast brought out 10 minutes b4 the eggs and CBH, so by the time I got the real food they were cold. Not only that they barely were toasted. Commercial packaged jam on the table too. Hmmm. Lets not forget the canned CBH for $ 10.95. Wow, the import tax for Carpenteria on canned goods must be #1 in the nation. Is it me or am I spoiled? I’m used to mom & pop small eateries serving homemade jams and free hot muffins and decent coffee, not Denny’s style packaged drip coffee, and homemade CBH. Got it, Hugos doesn’t. Will I go back? Nope. For what I was charged I’ll head off to Cajun Kitchen for a real breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, everyone is friendly here it’s just w-a-y overpriced for standard breakfast fare. Hey, maybe I’ll return if you serve up Korean breakfast items like rice & eggs with some banchchan served with kalbee, or bulgogi, or dak galbi, and so on.

A great place for breakfast! They also have rice in the morning, so you can order Rice and Eggs, a standard breakfast I had growing up as a Japanese-American!

A solid café with Asian flare. The spicy chicken bowl is one of my favorite go to lunchtime meals. Highly recommend!

Hugo’s is one of the best breakfast joints in beautiful Carpinteria! Whenever I visit Carpinteria I try to goto Hugo’s restaurant. I love the atmosphere and workers. I really enjoy going with family and friends.

BESTBREAKFASTEVER! If you’re passing through Carpinteria or you just want a great breakfast I highly recommend coming here! I had the blueberry pancakes(they put mini blueberrys in it and it’s awesome) with egg whites and everything was perfect, my family had the french toast and chicken fried steak and we left the restaurant with no food left on our plates. If you’re up to it, get the french fries, they put In n Out french fries to shame. There are not many breakfast restaurant as inviting and delicious as Hugo’s, it’s a must to go here if you’re in the area!

We found Hugo’s through Unilocal while visiting from out of town. We took our three little kids there for breakfast, and it was a perfect choice. They were very busy(it was Sunday morning, but they said they are always busy), which I took as a good sign. It is definitely a local favorite. We ate mostly egg dishes; my California omelette was delicious and fresh, and my kids had French toast. They don’t have a kids menu, but will happily split an entrée into two plates, which was perfect for my 3 and 5 year olds to share. The service was very attentive and food was ready quickly, even with all of the other customers. We will certainly come back the next time we are in Carpinteria.

Carpinteria… so many good things about it and Hugos is right up there. Three eggs, country taters and sausage patties were ordered along with some toast. Eggs ordered over medium, came hard and the fact that they say there are three eggs is true, but these are some small and meatless eggs. The potatoes saved the day as they were perfect with the soft onion and bell pepper. Sausage patties were tasty and the toast sopped it all up. Hugos is a nice, family run place with good food. The thing that elevates it up is the friendly service and the small town feel of the clientele.

Best breakfast place in Carpinteria! Food is always made fresh in this family owned eatery. They take pride in their ownership. We eat here whenever we are in town and they always recognize our family and take the time to catch up with us. Super sweet owners and great food. I highly recommend them for breakfast.

2⁄5 #SalsaPackets. Not sure what’s going on with the #Chorizo #breakfastburrito. Lacks flavor, size, value… not sure what the Unilocalers see in this place.

I had the vegetable stir fry. The vegetables used were definitely fresh and cooked just right, not too mushy and not too hard. You stir in the teriyaki sauce yourself. Quick, friendly service. Good quality food. What more can you ask for?
