We all(familyof 6) loved our food! It consisted of an amazing burger, chilaquiles, chicken tenders, 2 pozoles, and huevos machaca. On top of that, the service was really friendly. I honestly felt at home. Great place and highly recommend.

The food was decent but the service was horrible. The margaritas were good again decent. I was pretty underwhelmed.

Love the service here! My family and I used to come here every Saturday evening to eat dinner until I moved south for grad school. They are so kind and attentive and the food is always delicious. I always get the red pozole. It is my favorite and tastes divine. This restaurant is always clean and looks great. I love the décor. They are always so friendly and inviting. I love this place!

We had a great lunch(their special including enchilada with chile verde, my mahimahi fish tacos) two drinks–(Mojito and skinny margarita)…service was great, and we really enjoyed ourselves!

Best jalapeño margaritas in town! Will definitely be back next year for more of those with the nachos!

The food is pretty good but the service is not so hot. Often it is not busy and it takes forever to order and even longer for the food to be brought out.

Service was terrible. Can’t rate food. Waited and waited to even order. Food finally came and was delicious. Understaffed due to festival. Service wasn’t good but did improve.

Giving 2 stars for cleanliness and atmosphere. The dining area and the restrooms were both in impeccable order. That’s about the best of it. We walked in with our two little ones and there were 3 occupied tables, the waitress told us to seat ourselves, so we did. There is no air conditioning so it was quite warm, but they had fans on. We sat around 1205. Our orders werent taken til 1220, and we received our food at 1247. All we had ordered was nachos and a side of beans and rice. During this time no less than FOUR parties sat, waited a long time to be served, and left when they weren’t. The waitress we had wasn’t bad(though she also wasn’t very good) but the lady who looked like the owner or manager was really rude to several guests and seemed very bothered with everyone. The food was… Less than remarkable. The rice was decent, but the nachos were really lacking in cheese and the beef they put on it was in HUGE chunks and looked a bit like alpo in texture. I couldn’t even eat the beef without gagging so I left it for my husband and kiddos. We come to carp often and always wanted to try this place, and I guess the good part is we know now not to return. Wish it had been a better experience as it is a quaint looking place, but it just wasn’t up to snuff.

Very disappointed even though ratings on Unilocal weren’t great. Food average: I had fish tacos a «house specialty» grilled fish was over cooked & tough, sauce was so so as was rice & beans. Guacamole fresh but with little flavor other than avocado chunked up. Service: one lady was very nice and her attitude is the only reason I gave an extra star to make 3* however service was super slow and we were forgotten about in the front as were 3 other couples who ended up walking out because no one came to take their order or offer them drinks. Had to remind them we were still there by finding the one helper in their kitchen and asking for what we needed. Seems super understaffed as nice lady was hostess/bartender/waitress for the entire place. I recommend the nice lady to find a better restaurant or ask for more help. Sorry not coming back. Next time will try newer brewery down the street.

Love this place!!! Conveniently located to off street parking… which in the Summer, is a blessing! The food is upscale and reasonably priced! Love the Vegan options and am sooo glad the owner doesn’t seem to think massive portions of food are necessary! Very friendly staff! Heather is a rock star!

Worst service ever. Ordered a coconut Margie and it literally took 25 minutes. It’s not like they were busy either…2 other couples in the entire place! We decided not to order for fear we would lose our entire day. Did order chips and guacamole which was a little salty but ok. Much better places to eat.

I have traveled through Carpinteria for more than 30 years, but this is my first time at Señor Frogs. What a GREAT restaurant, well priced, great food and the wait staff was very friendly and very clean. I met the owner, Gloria, a very personable woman. We chatted about food and what customers look for and what SF offers. I ordered Chilpotle shrimp tacos, oh so very tasty and just the right spices. This gem of a restaurant is located on Linden Ave, stop in, enjoy the food and ambience. Say hello to Gloria when you stop in for some GREAT Mexican food.

If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. My family and I came in on a Saturday night with a group of 8. The restaurant was almost completely empty(2 tables were occupied) and we were told that with a group of 8 we would have to wait an hour to be seated. No accommodation to pull tables together or allow us to sit at the bar. Instead they walked away and ignored us and refused to seat us. Such disappointing service as we are new locals to the area and could have possibly been regulars. We’ll never return to this restaurant in the future. Very disappointed and confused at why any almost empty restaurant would refuse service to a larger party.

Well, the Chipotle Chicken Tacos were were really good, unfortunately the refried beans tasted canned, and the rice was dry and flavorless. On the plus side the chips and salsa were good as was the ice cold Island Brew Blonde. The wife had the Gorgonzola Chicken Salad and she liked it, the chicken was perfectly done and it was sizeable for the price. Prices weren’t too bad and the ambience was OK, it was absolutely dead for a Sunday afternoon when we arrived. The wait staff was attentive. I just couldn’t get over the not so good beans and rice. For a traditionmal mexican establishment I just expected more.

Pros: It’s very beautiful inside. Chips and salsa are good. Though I didn’t have one, other Unilocalers and the table next to us love the margaritas. Cons: THEYTOPEVERYTHINGWITHSHREDDEDYELLOWCHEDDARCHEESE! What self-respecting Mexican restaurant does that? Not even Fakes-i-can restaurant chains do that!!! Food is really poor! They put a raw tree trunk piece of carrot on my enchilada and taco plate! Huh? The antithesis of authentic. Slow service too. Bottom line: Come here only if the goal is to DRINK and get free chips and salsa!

Very mediocre food, store bought chips and wait staff that have to be asked 3 times before they remember to bring anything to you. Oh and drinks so weak you may as well not bother

I had dinner here with family and friends on Sunday evening. It is a small eatery but all tables were full by the time we were served. And herein lies the rub… on a holiday weekend, only one server? There was a female tending bar who probably should have been helping with food delivery, but no. The food was«meh», I’ve had(much) better Mexican. The beef filling in my little burro was waaaaay too salty; good on chips but bad in burrito. The bartender did pour a good Michelada though! I do not think I will return, too many other options to settle for mediocre.

Yummy, fresh margaritas! Try the blood orange or cucumber margarita! I’m a vegan so I appreciate that their rice and beans are vegan. Try the cilantro rice! They also have veggie fajitas, tacos, burritos, mixed green salad, and usually a veggie soup. Give it a try!
