Bridges at Chapel Hill Apartments

I moved in here in August of 2015 and have loved it. I have what is called the A2 layout– it’s a single bedroom with a kitchen, bathroom, dining nook, small bar, covered porch, and fire place. I won’t say much more about the space since you can view the layouts online and visit the apartments in person. What I do want to make sure to note is this– the management here really makes all the difference. The Bridges are currently run by Fairfield, which has earned a B grade from the Better Business Bureau. I’ve lived several places in Carrboro and have had a diversity of landlords– independent landlords who own and rent one house, medium-​size property management groups, and large corporations like Greystar (God help us when it came to Greystar-​yikes). The folks at the front office at The Bridges are always friendly and helpful, and I’ve been able to get non-​emergency maintenance requests addressed within 24 – 36 hours every time. I’ve always felt safe and respected here, and the one time I forgot to pay a portion of my rent on time (I had a new $ 20/​month pet fee that I had forgotten to account for) I got a polite note indicating that I had until the 13^th to pay the remaining money– no hounding me down, no aggressive threats to add fees, etc. This is a fantastic place to live and I love my little apartment, but whether or not I renew my lease in August 2016 will depend predominantly on whether or not Fairfield is still the managing company. If you’re looking at moving into The Bridges, check to see who’s in charge. If it’s Fairfield, I think you’ll have a great experience similar to my own. If it’s not, I’d recommend asking more questions and taking extra care to make sure the space is still being well maintained and managed.

I have really enjoyed living here. My apartment is a huge one bedroom and has a pretty view from my balcony. The area is always clean and well maintained and when I do need anything it is handled quickly. Both the office and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. All of my neighbors are super friendly. One even helped me with my sofa when I was moving in. I have made several friends since moving here and I feel good about the people here. No plans to move anytime soon.

Be prepared to pay for EVERYTHING! There is NOTHING included in your extremely over priced rent! You pay for trash, water, and everything else! This adds about an extra $ 60 onto your rent every month and thats not counting all of the other utilities. This place looks nice on the outside, but inside is the same quality as any other complex. The only reason I gave two stars is because the maintenance here is great, however the administrative personnel are snooty and always trying to get a dime out of you. Not worth it!
