I stopped in with the family for a quick dinner. The atmosphere and service are typical pizza place but done well. We couldn’t agree on a pizza so I had a calzone, my wife a steak & cheese and my daughter a slice. The calzone was loaded with cheese and came with sauce on the side which I thought was nice. The food was good and reasonably priced. They do a nice job.

The food has never let me down, and they have great service as well. I haven’t had a bad pizza from them yet, and have been visiting their restaurant for almost 3 years. The Grandma is awesome, but the surprise hit with me is their spinach pizza. I was completely burnt out on that style before trying their version of it. They nailed it.

This is pizza just the way I like it – delicious crispy crust, light topping so the crust holds up. I’d talk about all of the various pizzas, but I can’t resist the Pizza Florentine, so get it every time. My husband gets the pepperoni and loves it. There are fancier pizza places, but this is the best everyday(don’t I wish?!) pizza place in the area!

Carrboro pizza oven has the best pizza in chapel hill/carrboro. So good. They go light on the sauce and cheese, which I prefer, and aren’t too greasy. The crust is delicious — nice and crisp! My favorites are the spinach pizza, florentine pizza, and eggplant rollatini.

Bar none my favorite pizza, in the area. Pizza crust has a very nice crisp texture. Sauce has a nice flavor. My consistent go to place for a slice!

Great space. We had the fried calamari, lasagna and rigatoni ala vodka. The food was great. The owner seems really hands on and friendly. I’d definitely come back again.

The service and pizza have improved! I now eat here a few times a month. Try the broccoli cheese pizza.

Great sauce, great lasagne, great garlic knots, and love their garden salad with their homemade Italian dressing. This is vintage Franklin Street Pizza and Pasta from 1995… Love it.

Excellent pizza, friendly staff! The pizza is good, I mean really good. Reminds me of New Haven CT, takes me back home with every slice. Best part, you can pick your own slices if you don’t want to commit to a whole pie. Love this place!!!

Carrboro Pizza Oven is alright. It’s definitely not the best pizza in Chapel Hill /Carrboro, but it’s not the worst either. When I moved from Chapel Hill to Carrboro, I thought I’d make this my new go-to pizza joint, but in the end it’s still worth it to drive to University Mall and get Alfredo’s. Carrboro Pizza Oven’s pies are too small, too-usually-burned on the bottom, and too bland for my taste. It’s several steps above Domino’s or Pizza Hut or Papa John’s, but if you’re looking for NY Style Pizza in NC, I definitely recommend Alfredo’s over Carrboro Pizza Oven. That being said, if you’re looking for a quick slice for lunch in Carrboro, this is definitely the place to go.

The Sicilian slice was very good, maybe missing that slightly fermented taste I like. The barbecue chicken slice was top notch. No suggestions on how to improve it. My wife had the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. Two big cutlets. Maybe I should say too big, as she couldn’t finish so she gave me some. I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand it was delicious. Really delicious, better than many sit-down restaurants for $ 5 more. On the other hand it almost makes me regret getting pizza because add good as the pizza was, the chicken was off the chart.

Best pizza joint in Carrboro. Make sure to try the«Grandma’s» pizza if they have it.

The pizza wasn’t bad. But what kind of pizza place doesn’t have pepperoni slices available to order? We were told if we wanted it we would have to buy an entire pie. It doesn’t make sense to me that they couldn’t just add some to a cheese slice. Seems silly to not offer pepperoni slices when they are such a common request.

I don’t always eat at Carrboro Pizza Oven, but when I do, I love it and give myself a pat on the back for doing this to myself. Last December when I traveled from Raleigh to the undiscovered country that is Carrboro for a potential job, I had a fierce hankering for comfort food after the interview. Please help my sad soul. CPO put me at ease and calmed my nerves with my now favorite, the single slice of pizza florentine. I since landed the job and now make CPO one of my regular eateries. Here are two more of my favorite things: — This item falls in the believe-it-or-not category, as I would ordinarily not go near this latest diet fad: GLUTEN-FREE10″ pie. It was superfine. I had a coeliac friend visit, and so we swung by to split a pizza, complimented with glasses of the house red. We polished the pizza off in no time flat, and barely hesitated to order a second. Done and done. Like my favorite florentine, this pizza has crust with just the right light crunch, and a pleasing array of flavor that’s neither weak nor over the top. — Stuffed shells. Stuffed with genuine cheese, no skimping. There are four. The problem I had with the stuffed shells was that there should have been one more. That is all. The menu is fairly full for a pizza joint, and service is quick, even on the made-to-orders. CPO has been here for 9 or 10 months now, I think. Contrary to the regular demise of others shops in CarrMill, I do hope CPO lasts at least as long as I do here. Together we can do it, CPO!

I cringed when I saw that Rita’s was being replaced by a pizza joint. i mean, how many pizza places does a college town need? But I had a soft spot for Rita’s so I was bummed they had vacated. Y’all didn’t buy enough custard apparently! But after a first try of this place I will say I am a fan. Mainly because my kids are and it’s not such a hit on my pocketbook and a step up from chains. Their sizing is generous too. I ordered a large thinking it would be just barely enough to feed 3 of us but what I was given is closer to an XL at most places if they carry that size anyway. Larges today are usually what mediums were back in the day.(Remember Godfather’s?) I also got a dozen garlic knots and spent less than $ 20 bucks AND had leftovers so I didn’t have to cook breakfast. :) They don’t deliver but take out is pretty fast even if you just walk up and place order. I had it in 15 minutes and since it was at Carr Mill mall I could at least walk around while I waited. The man taking my order wasn’t very friendly which you come to expect when you shop locally but the guy who brought my pizza out made up for it. Oh, and the pizza? The kids said it was almost as good as [Enter other local pizzeria here] which is a huge compliment in their eyes.

It’s okay, but it’s not the highest quality pizza in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro area. It’s serviceable though if you’re looking for a single slice, or something that’s not Dominos/Papa John’s. I had two slices: the broccoli and cheddar, and the BBQ chicken. The broccoli and cheddar was pretty decent, like a baked potato pizza. The BBQ chicken was okay, but the pizza itself tasted a little sweet. I was not expecting sweetness. Overall, it’s a nice little place to grab a slice of cheap pizza, but beyond that it’s not too exciting.

Franklin Street Pizza and Pasta is back in Carrboro!!! And it’s as good as I remember it. I had just recently learned that the former owners of Franklin Street PIzza and Pasta had opened up this place in Carrboro. I was very sad when I heard they had closed on Franklin Street. My wife and I used to eat there all of the time back when we were students at UNC. After moving back to NC recently, we were always sad when we would go to Franklin Street. But, now, life is complete again! This is place is really good for a quick pizza and pasta fix. Very clean place in Carr Mill Mall. A little smaller than their former location. Same great owners working the counter. Always very friendly. Like in the old days, we had to get some of the garlic knots with sauce to start. They were so good and brought back so many great memories. After living in NYC for a few years, we were wondering how we would like this place. It didn’t disappoint. The marinara sauce was superb. For the main meal, I went with with one of my old favorites here — the Chicken Cutlet hero with cheese. It was really good. Not the best and maybe not quite as good as I remember but still very good. My wife had one of her favorites — Stuffed Shells. She loved hers. She was very happy. All in all, a great place. We were definitely happy we tried this place again. I can’t speak for the pizza or many of the other items on the menu, but we really liked what we got. I also used to love the Steak and Cheese Hero and my wife used to love their Caesar Salads. As we were eating, we were saying that the tons of people waiting to eat at the place next door should come on in and have something here! We will definitely be coming back!

If you liked Franklin St. Pizza and Pasta then you will love Carrboro Pizza Oven. I was really sad when the place on Franklin St. sold, but it was worth the wait for the new place to open. The food is still fantastic, the service is super friendly and now it has a much better atmosphere too. It really had a great community feeling to it already even for being so new. Our kids love«Mr. Craig’s» pizza and we love having a friendly relaxed place that we can take our kids and enjoy a nice meal for ourselves too. Speaking of kids, their kids menu had chicken on it, and we ordered it for one of our little ones expecting the average chicken tender. We were pleasantly surprised when the chicken that showed up was a perfectly cooked chicken cutlet and not something that was processed and frozen. Now that we don’t have to fight for parking and wade through the panhandlers on Franklin St. we will probably treat ourselves more often.

Takes me back to New York in some ways. Kind of a by-the-slice joint. Plain cheese pies sitting out waiting to be reheated in the oven with toppings of your choice. What reminds me of the city: fast service, greasy slices. The actual pizza is of fairly cheap quality – which is NOT a bad thing. I love all pizza, and this slice didn’t disappoint. However, at nearly $ 3 for a slice of pepperoni of this quality: nuh uh. Crust is brittle and falls apart as you fold/eat it, has absolutely no flavor. Drop the cost per slice at least a dollar and you’ve got yourself a decent deal for customers. Will it stop me from coming? Nope!
