Baluchis

Ordered for delivery. Came in a timely manner. The food was good. Bought the meal deal and got the gobi manchurian and chicken tikka.
The chicken tikka masala and the spice was good and not as creamy as other places.
Overall good but not that great but definitely will order again.

We go to Baluchi’s quite often and know that they have a 50% off for lunch until 3pm. Well, they compensate their discount by giving half the portion. Anyways, once we had our lunch today at this Brooklyn location, they brought out the bill with full price. When I asked the server why he didn’t include the discount, he started giving excuses saying that it only applies to children? then again changed his statement saying that it applies to tables that pay by cash??? I told him that I’ve never heard this before and pointed to the sign that is displayed in the window clearly stating 50% off for Lunch menu (no mention of children). He or the manager was clearly trying to scam people and I just want to make people aware of this!!! who ever is in charge of this chain, please take a loot into this location. Oh btw, before we went there, we called to see if it was open, the person who answered said — Yes, its open thats why I picked up the phone??? Is this guy serious? the food was mediocre/​below par. As I said, I’m a regular at this chain, so i know the quality of food they serve!!!

I ordered a chicken tikka masala entrée from this place on
to be delivered to my apartment two blocks away. I set the order at 9:20pm and it is 11:02pm. The food has yet to arrive. I tried calling the restaurant and nobody picked up at the other end.
If you can’t delivery after a certain hour… don’t say you can deliver!

The food is pretty solid. I’ve ordered from most of the Indian joints in the neighborhood and this one probably wins.
A few people seem to have had bad service experiences — I have not (to go or in person) so I can’t speak to that. I will say it’s not bad food.

Great food, wonderful service. Chicken tikka masala is just right — creamy but not overly. Best Indian I’ve had in the neighborhood! Nice décor as well.

This was our second trip to baluchi’s since they reopened on Smith Street and tonight was a major disappointment.
The food took more than 35 minutes from time we ordered until we hit it and this was after 10 minute wait to order (we were only one of three tables)
Every dish we orders was wrong. And the salmon dish we ordered that came out as shrimp and back out as salmon was raw And They didn’t have any poppadoms…
If I want with an English friend who eats Indian all the time we probably would have had even more issues with the food

This Baluchi’s is great if you’re on a severe diet and budget. Like, you end up not eating lunch and have your card refunded instead.
I ordered saag paneer through seamless for my lunch. After my delivery was already 30 minutes late (I’m really chill) I called the restaurant to see what was going on. The man on the phone immediately gave me attitude and said «my guys don’t deliver there, it’s too far». By the way, it’s 1.5 miles and if you don’t deliver here, maybe let seamless know that. I asked him when somebody was going to call and let me know my order was canceled, he just told me to call seamless and get a refund.
I called seamless and they told me the restaurant had confirmed the order over an hour earlier, meaning they were going to deliver and then just didn’t feel like it apparently.
So, I’ve never had their food — but if they can’t even handle the basics, why bother?

Great addition to the CG selection. No problem getting a table. Great décor, nice vibe. Music not too loud or intense, still had a great conversation while listening to good Indian music.
Staff: very friendly, not overly intrusive. Just the right amount.
Food: came out pretty quick, in a good way. Not the, did this come out too quick cause it’s undercooked, way. Tikka masala was good, even spice without being overpowering. My dad had goat curry, loved it. Plenty of it, and extra rice came out as we needed it. Garlic nan was fresh out of the oven, and delightful.
Great place, will come back for sure.
