I like the layout inside and the staff was very warm and inviting. Decent food as well.

They have very good service and the food is delicious. I always get the gal-bi dol-sot bibimbap and every time I get it it’s amazing. I highly recommend that dish. I always enjoy coming here with family.

This was my second time at Gui-Rock not for the Korean BBQ but for their lunch special. My girlfriend and I both got the Spicy Short Rib«Jjim» and it was excellent both times. The short rib was extremely tender and rich with the spicy broth. It includes a variety of vegetables and some glass noodles as well! Like more authentic Korean restaurants they offer white steamed rice and a more healthy barley/bean steamed rice which I love. During the lunch hours they also offer a free salad bar that includes miso/seaweed soup. The salad bar was fresh and the Korean salad dressing is amazing. Service was also fast and friendly both times. I’ve noticed that all the servers were all middle aged woman who had experience in serving, so you’re never going to have to deal with inconsistent services that younger people tend to have. The one downfall of this place was without a doubt the side dishes. All the side dishes were lukewarm, and extremely bland. It’s quite pivotal for the Kimchi to be cold, spicy, and crunchy in a Korean restaurant, but it deeply lacked in all of the above. I would say this is a pretty good lunch spot for the week! The prices aren’t very college student friendly, but it’s a good place to stop by once in awhile!

Coming from Pittsburgh where Korean food is pretty mediocre, I was excited to try Gui-Rock. In the end, the experience was OK. We got 3 types of meat– Chadol, Saeng Galbi and Samgyupsal. None of these meats are marinated, so you really can’t screw it up. I did think that the prices were a little high considering the portion and quality, but no major complaints. You get a side of Dwenjang Jjigae and Gaeran Jjim with a BBQ order. We also got Kimchi Udon casserole– it was a lot sweeter than I expected, and I wasn’t too impressed with the flavor. Service was pleasant, and overall the food was fine. Banchan is fresh and refilled promptly upon request.

Omg. Loved this place!!! A bit pricey for the bbq items but you can find other cheap items in the menu.

I’ve had several Korean BBQ experiences and I wasn’t impressed with this one. It was over priced and the food was mediocre. The side dishes were average and the meat was not the best quality. Usually they have some kind of sauce to dip the meat in but none was offered at this place. Probably will not be coming back again since there are many more places to choose from for Korean BBQ.

Have been around Korean town a lot but never tried this restaurant. We tried their BBQ and pretty good, even price a little high. Their house wine was not bad. Will come back later and try other meat:-)

Came across this please instead of going to Omi(which is right around corner.) Walking in you see all booths and rooms, for large parties. It is a very nice place overall. We got seated quickly in one of the rooms that had 2 tables for 4. After getting seated, it took a while for them to get our waters,(Saturday night rush!) probably 5 minutes after getting our waters we finally got to order. We ordered the«seafood pancake» &3 different kinds of meats: short ribs, pork belly and sulwhasal. The meats came out with the sides like any other Korean place. Then our pancake came out, which is very delicious! It was nice and crunchy with bits of shrimp in it. Overall the food was good, the meats in my opinion were like any other Korean place but the pancake was great! We would probably go back and try the other things on the menu.

It had been a while since we ate good Korean food, and a weekend trip into Dallas was exactly what we needed. I always rely on Unilocal reviews when in a new area. I was not disappointed. We are always a bit leery of going someone too nice with our 10 month old boy, but as soon as we walked in, everyone was super nice. They brought over a high chair and made googily eyes to make him smile. Ok, here’s the thing, I grew up where we ate rice 3x/day. It’s a hard rock to swallow when you see high prices for something your parents can whip up. But here’s the thing, you can really taste the difference. The pork belly had just the right amount of fat with meat. And the kalbi was super tender and flavorful. The complimentary sides were fresh, not too ripe. And Korean miso soup was mild with a hint of spice, the steamed egg casserole could use salt, but the waitress was nice to bring a separate plate and plastic spoon for the baby. We also got the seafood pancake… It’s super thick and dense. Add 2 soft drinks and it came out to $ 75, not bad. We were completely satisfied and didn’t have the meat sweats, good thing since we had a 3 hour drive ahead of us.

had the gamja tang(aka pork neck stew). having had asian food in Asia and socal, this was going to be a tough sell. for whatever reason, this dish is best served in a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant and this place was too nice of an establishment. should have known better but the pork neck stew was recommended by my lunch buddy who knows the area. I can’t speak of the bbq but I would stay clear away from this stew. it was not just the flavor but the meat should have been fall-off-the-bone which it was not. it fell short in all respects. when you prefer eating banchan over the main course, it’s a fail. two stars for decent banchan, cleanliness, and nice ambiance if you care about the other stuff.

The décor is really fancy. It may be a Korean interior design thing because my favorite AYCEKBBQ Gen, Tustin, CA has the same light boxes. The service is fine. My friends, three guys and I, were seated immediately on Halloween night around 6:30−7pm. We had communication issues with our server but it was alright. If you look on the first page of the menu you will find $ 28 plates of meat. Why are they so expensive? Because they cook in front of you than in the kitchen and be brought out to you. After the plates were brought, now we know really why they are so expensive: the server cooks it for you! The four of us finished 4 plates of meat, most of the side dishes with refills, two large hot sake, two steamed egg, one vege soup. Here’s why this restaurant is not my style: –I want Flavored Soju(I looked up Omi, they don’t have it either) –I want Rice Wrapper than lettuce(it’s healthy but not my style) –I prefer AYCE(well, I knew it wasn’t) –I prefer cooking myself($ 28 a plate is too much)

Gui-Rock = Satiating Pros: — meats(ones cooked in the kitchen): Delicious. Flavorful. Tender. The gui-rock yangnyum galbi is on-point. Galbi jjim is even better… so tender and delicious… ahhhh — jigae: rich and flavorful. My mom always gives the thumbs-up on the soondubu jigae. — banchan: consistently fresh and sufficient quantity. The types of banchan slightly varies for each visit. — service: staff is pleasant and helpful — restaurant is clean and well-kept. Décor is simple; nothing extravagant. Cons: — …the unpleasant feeling like your stomach is about to explode from over-eating??? Overall, Gui-Rock is better than Omi regarding the quality of food and service.

So I first came here with my «American» friends and the workers were so kind and generous to us. Then I came here with my Korean family and because we ordered the inexpensive beef, we got shit service and everyone was a bitch to us. I ordered the same beef with my «American» friends as I did with my Korean family and apparently I’m supposed to order a certain kind of beef if my blood is made of Korean… whatever. This place makes me wish I was never born a Korean, who seem to be nothing but a bunch of egoistical snobs who in reality don’t give a shit about anyone but themselves based on the actions of the workers at this piece of shit restaurant. The food quality was pretty good though. Which is why I give this place two stars rather than just one. Happy?

I’ve been here before but this time I came with friends so we were a party of four. This place is by far the best Korean bbq that I have been in the Dallas area but I’m from Oklahoma so I’m not see how Accurate. I am however Korean and this place suits my taste bud. My favorite here is the ribeye(diungshim) and the marinated galbi. Mind you this place is also on the pricier side. For us four it ended up being about 120 $ with tax included. For a Korean restaurant you can tell how good the meal will be based on the side dishes. Today the side dishes were very good and fresh. The waiter we had must be inexperienced because we had to keep on asking to refill our side dishes and our water. Also the vent on top of our table may need to be fixed the smoke from the Korean bbq kinda made me choke.

The food was pretty good! I ordered the nemyung(cold noodles) and they were more flavorful than others I’ve tried elsewhere. The service was great — they kept coming back to check if we needed anything. Good place overall.

Good location compare to other Korean bbq places. Staff were really helpful and friendly. They constantly stopped by our table to help me cook the meat. The mmanager also guided me on how to eat the meat, to get the best out of it. I had the wagyu and pork belly, which comes with two sides of soup(egg soup and bean paste tofu soup). Sides are also refillable. They aren’t stingy with it every time I asked for more. Will definitely come back here.

The staff here was fairly nice. It was mine and my coworkers first time here and a staff member showed us to our table, and another one told us about their salad bar. One of their dressings is homemade which was nice and they were informative about each of their dressings and their soup. I must have looked like a fatty going back and forth to the FREE salad bar. Yes, it’s a FREE salad bar. I’m a girl who likes her salad and soup. I must have ordered the wrong dish, because I didn’t like mine very much. After the 5th and 6th bite, I grew tired of it. However, it was also quite large, it lasted me about 3 days worth of leftovers. BUT one of my coworkers really enjoyed his bibimbap. Maybe next time I’ll order that instead. Oh, and it’s clean here(because you know I always have to mention the restaurant being clean or not.)

Went here for dinner we grilled — ordered saeng galbi(non marinated meat w/bone) and the non marinated ribeye. The banchan was a good variety. I came back here for lunch — my friend had the LA Galbi lunch box which was perfect for him as a korean food rookie. I had the cold buckwheat noodles with LA Galbi — i would not order the noodles again. I really enjoyed the salad bar and banchan during lunch. The restaurant looks renovated and it’s well ventilated.
