This place use to be good, but recently the food seems to be getting more expensive every time I go… the service is ok. food I can’t lie is good though.

Great authentic mexican food. Chilaquiles were great, not traditional with sauce, more like migas and the refried beans were great.

So I tried the Guisado de puerco en salsa roja con nopales and it tasted a bit too much like oregano :/the beans and rice were tasty tho. I sat In a table for a group of 13 people and service was great.

This is the place to go for authentic Mexican food. I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu and have loved it all. I highly recommend the menudo and chicken enchiladas.

This place is awesome. The tacos al carbon plate is stellar. If you get one of the combos, plan to enter into a food coma afterwards. Make sure to get your tacos smothered in green sauce. Chips and salsa are pretty good as well. Staff is pretty nice.

Amazing!!! Home made tortillas, crispy bacon, fluffy eggs! They make amazing breakfast tacos that are full of flavor and delicious. 5 visits later and I still can’t find anyplace that compares. Their cooking skills don’t stop there, beef enchiladas and the tripa plate are the best in town! Crispy chips, big portions and decent prices! We have finally found a great authentic mexican restaurant! I highly recommend this place.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I was judged the minute I walked in the door by the staff for being a white woman and my boyfriend a Mexican. The waiters would not help us and acted like she was put out out when we asked for something. I understand that I don’t speak Spanish or fit the Mexican culture but I am a human being and would hope never to make someone feel the way that this waitress made me feel for the color of my skin. This is one of my boyfriends favorite places because the food is so good but he won’t go back because of the way I was treated. We are all human beings and should be looked at that way.

My boyfriend is Mexican and Brazilian so we are always searching for good authentic restaurants near my place. Long behold, we found this little spot in Carrollton. Once you walk in you can already tell you have stepped into little Mexico. The décor and atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve just been welcomed into the culture and experience. Once we walked it they pointed us to a table. They speak a lot of Spanish so I had my boyfriend order. The chips and salsa were fresh and the food was just even more amazing! What stood out for me most definitely was the tripas! Nicely fried and just melts in your mouth. Definitely one of my new favorite places.

The food here is spectacular, along with the service. However, I feel that there needs to be a hostess up in the front of the restaurant. When my husband and I arrived, we wandered inside the entrance for a solid 10 minuets. No one there greeted customers like most do. Then there where several other families behind us waiting. While all of us wondering aimlessly, a friendly waitress sat my husband and I in her section. The food and service made up that experience. Salsas, tortillas are truly authentic. I recommend the menudo y huevos rancheros. Es muy rico!

For real and really good Mexican food come here. The tortillas and guisado are going to be the best you can get in the Dallas area. My parents love the beef caldo and the price was not too bad. Haven’t tried the breakfast here yet but it looks crazy good!

I think I’m finally starting to accept that Dallas does not have a decent Mexican food scene. With all the rave reviews, this place has been on my radar for a while. This weekend I happened to be in the area so I dropped in at about 2pm. The place was packed and the getting seated was a little disorganized. But for good food I wouldn’t mind. Chips and salsa: 4 out of 5. Definitely some of the better(spicier) salsa I’ve had in the area. Main course: 3 out of 5. We ordered pretty basic entrees to try out, chicken tacos and chicken enchiladas. Both were underwhelming. My enchiladas were drowned in sour cream and cheddar cheese. The chicken tacos were ok, but not enough toppings were on the plate for all the tacos. The rice and beans were pretty good and we did get a lot of chicken in the entrees. The flour tortillas were also disappointing. Way too much lard, not fluffy at all. The food overall was not good enough to make we want to come back and a waste of a cheat meal. I saw lots of menudo and micheladas being ordered so maybe those are good. If you are from further south you’ll most likely be disappointed.

This is the real deal Mexican food along with the flavors of Mexico. You could put this place anywhere in Mexico and it would fit right in the neighborhood. The service is one person takes all the orders then they are delivered to your table by the kitchen staff. When your done you just walk up and tell them where you sat and then pay. Simple if you know how it works otherwise you might go away thinking how bad service was. The food is good for the price and very authentic. Stay away from the fajitas since as there are much better options on the menu. My vote for some of the best flour tortillas around Dallas.

No Tex-Mex bullshit here! I was so glad to find this place, I am tired of eating at Tex– Mex places that serves enchiladas with chili con carne and queso(chili & cheese), so not right. They have some tasty menudo, pork con chile verde, and mexican rice. I had some customer talk to me, because he was shock I knew how to eat menudo, I think it was because I am asian. Service is okay, but that’s probably because I do not speak spanish, its more like spanglish. They gave us chips & salsa, a standard, the drink cups here a huge. I will definitely go here again.

I absolutely love this place. I had to come here two days in a row for breakfast because I was craving it after the first time! When you first walk in, it kind of seems awkward because you don’t know if you’re supposed to wait for someone to seat you, or if you seat yourself. Judging by the other Unilocal reviews, we decided to just seat ourselves. It worked perfectly, because a waiter came to deliver chips and salsa, and take our drink order. If you like micheladas, I would recommend getting one here. It was great, and it was much larger than I expected, for $ 6.00, not bad. I would also recommend the huevo ranchero plate, it comes with two eggs, beans, potatoes, and your choice of tortillas. I would also get a side of rice, it was amazing!

MINDBLOWINGAMAZINGTEX-MEX! Seriously the best Tex-Mex food I have ever had in my life! You know you’re in the right spot for Tex-Mex when your table is the only English speaking table in the house. I swear everyone else spoke spanish! You know you’re in the right spot for Tex-MEX when you go on a Tuesday during lunch and the place is PACKED! I literally wanted to try everything on the menu but settled for the Chicken Mole. The house salsa and chips were an excellent mouth wetter. The Chicken Mole was amazing. The beans and rice were on point. But the real deal is the tortilla. They make them in house and they are TODIEFOR! Seriously, Mind Blowing Amazing. I could not get over how fabulous the tortilla are! My next trip back to Dallas MUST include a return trip to Tipicos!
