We arrived early today for Lunch and had amazing, personalized service. Our first visit. The restaurant is small, a café style, immaculately clean and well decorated. The food is superb. The service was truly excellent. We were a party of four, the selection of lunch dishes was extensive, everything from appetizers through dessert was prepared expertly and served very well. As a starter, the server brought out a few small samples of their specialty appetizer/salads for everyone to try. It was a nice start to delicious meal. The thing that impressed me the most, other than the quality of ALL of the food(there was not a single comment other than«this is good») the staff was very upbeat, friendly and the food was served much more rapidly than I expected. Overall a wonderful experience.

Our favorite ladies luncheon spot for 20 years! Karim and his crew are wonderful! The chicken salad is the best ever and Karim playfully engages with all the patrons. Be sure to get the apricot iced tea. It’s outstanding! Wonderful World of Cooking is a real gem in downtown Carrollton!

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while looking for something different for a weekday lunch spot. As many others have said, it is like a cheeky great-grandma’s house without the old charm, but I am at a restaurant to the food. The chicken chutney lunch came with the pretzel salad and casserole cheese bread. The chicken salad had a curry flavor, but the size was that of a small scoop of ice cream. The pretzel salad is actually jello salad from Thanksgiving pot luck with crushed pretzels sprinkled on top. The casserole cheese bread was a microwave warmed up slice of sour dough sponge bread with no hint of cheese. My friend got the chicken tortellini, which looked gray with sprinkles of cheese in an individual dish that seemed to have been microwaved. Both plates came out less than 5 minutes. Not worth the $ 10+tip lunch. We were given loyalty cards that gives a free lunch after 10 lunches. I do not think we will spend over $ 100 for another round of Thanksgiving pot luck jello salad. Although the owner was witty, it is not worth going back.

I had my friends baby shower brunch here yesterday, and couldn’t have asked for a better place to host this event! I was so overwhelmingly satisfied with their accommodation and excellent service. They arranged the tables for my group and even let us decorate. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for to celebrate my best friends new baby girl. The location in historical downtown Carrollton was also a huge plus! Loved being able to walk around the antique southern shops after our tea party. Thank you to everyone at Wonderful World of Cooking for your above-and-beyond service! We are so grateful and will definitely be back!

I eat here at least once a week. Several friends eat here pretty much every single day. The food is good broad American, with delicious casseroles, sandwiches, salads, and soups. Extensive menu is sturdy with many options. Awesome daily specials keep it interesting! I particularly love their chicken salad, and their apricot iced tea is amazing! Whatever else you have, be sure to try the pretzel salad(fruit, jello, and cream cheese, with pretzel crust). The owner/manager/head waiter is warm and friendly, providing quick and competent service. The talented chef does a great job, with not a dud dish on the menu. Very highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Carrollton. The food is always fresh and the customer service is superb. I really appreciate that the owner is invested in everyone having a positive dining experience. If there is something you do not like, he will make every effort to correct it. You can’t beat that anywhere!

My friend and I happened upon this gem in downtown Carrollton and had to remind ourselves we were in Dallas, experiencing such a quaint, delightful, tasty and customer centric café. You can’t help but leave with a smile on your face and a satisfied palate.

Delightful !! My friend and I had the most lovely lunch here. The owner is charming, hilarious and downright darling. He made our entire day! The broccoli salad is amazing as is the chutney chicken salad! The spinach quiche was also amazing. Fabulous restaurant! Cannot wait to go back!

I walk in and it’s a bit of an odd set up for a restaurant. Sort of like it’s an old woman’s house. But in the cute homey way you’d imagine it. My first impression of a restaurant is from when I walk in, and can smell what’s cooking. Despite what it looks like at a restaurant, if I walk in and it smells awesome, I don’t even care. Sadly, the aroma of this establishment went along with the old woman set up perfectly. It smelt like a lot of moth balls & some candles to cover up the scent of moth balls. Not a whiff of food of any kind. I ordered a sandwich despite wanting to turn around and walk out, I still had a sliver of faith as the reviews aren’t too bad about the food. After placing my order all of the two employees head to the back. Keep in mind I am the only person here besides the employees and it’s dead silent. The only sound I can hear I can hear from the back is the sound of a microwave. I read several reviews about this but thought I’d be safe from this by ordering a sandwich. I guess I was wrong. I don’t look at my food until I’m back at my store, when I see it my sandwich is wrapped in plastic wrap it really made me feel like I was about to eat a sad school lunch. But I press on trying to force myself to taste it for this review but apon further inspection of the sandwich, my ham,(which was supposed to be turkey) is very thickly sliced and a bit slimy. & the food itself some how smelt like some type of perfume. Unfortunately despite my persistence in needing to give this meal a shot, the smell of strong perfume on my ham was just the last straw. It was the most unappetizing experience and the only thing I could force myself to take a bite of was the free cinnamon bread I was given for checking in.

«wonderful world of microwaving» might be more accurate. My girlfriend and I had a bit of an unusual experience at this establishment. I’m reluctant to use the word restaurant because I’m not sure if it would actually fall in that category or not. Upon walking in there was no scent of food, rather an overwhelming scent of candles or some other floral scent. We were greeted by a gentleman and brought to our table. We found it a bit odd that we were the only guests on a Saturday afternoon. The server/only visible employee in the place was very nice and professional and he did give us very good service. The food however was a disappointment. I ordered the spaghetti with chicken and a side salad. My Girl friend ordered the Turkey tetrazzini. We couldn’t help but notice what sounded like the use of a microwave.(keep in mind we were the only ones in there and this place is tiny! You could hear a pin drop) Our food came out surprisingly fast! The salads were on the same plate as the entrée. The portions were equivalent to what you’d expect to see from a kids menu. It was beyond obvious that our food was«left-overs» and had been nuked in the microwave. I wouldn’t be surprised if it were several days old. The salad was the same type of salad you’d find in a bag at Kroger and so was the bread that was served with the meal. It didn’t taste bad or anything but it just wasn’t good. It tasted like something I’d whip up after coming home from work and rummaging through a fridge full of my girlfriend’s leftovers. To make matters worse it was a bit overpriced considering how small the portions were. I seriously would not recommend this place to anyone.

Place looks like grandma’s house, and we were the only table there. The portions were ridiculously small and the food was clearly microwave heated it tasted like bad leftovers. Upon walking in there is no scent of food which is kind of weird for a restaurant. The only reason why we gave it two stars is because the server was decent. The only reason why we went in the first place is because we had a certificate from believing that we could use the full $ 20 but we were told that we can only use $ 5 a month at a time which is complete crap.

My mom and I love trying out these small café type places in various downtown areas. So we decided to give this spot a try. My mom’s a full vegetarian but eats eggs, and I am maybe 80% vegetarian so I wanted a veg meal too. This place does not have a lot of options for vegetarians though. Depending on their soup of the day and if the quiche has meat in it. I see that the menu has expanded though since we have been so maybe we can get a vegetarian filling meal from here now. The food was good for us just not filling. We normally like to go to these cafes because of the quaint feeling we get from them, not really the food anyways. It’s located in Downtown Carrollton! The staff is very friendly, and I think we saw the owner working there on weekends.

Myself and my family have been dining at Wonderful World of Cooking for many years and have never been disappointed. All of their menu items are made fresh daily in-house and are delicious. You wouldn’t think a tuna sandwich could be so great but theirs are top-notch! Daily soup specials, quiches, and specials. They’re also open for dinner Friday and Saturday night. The owner is so friendly, warm, and welcoming and the staff is awesome too! Can’t say enough good things about Wonderful World. I look forward to my next visit and great meal.

I end up at this place every few weeks. It’s the perfect lunch spot. The chicken salad is great and I love the jello/pretzel salad. The owner is absolutely hysterical! He makes a point to chat with each customer and make sure you’re enjoying your meal.

This is not the type of place that I’d seek out, but the food is very good and fresh. This is the type of place where ladies go to have a tea after church… you will not have privacy to have a boisterous discussion with a group of friends at this fairly quite sit down place. It is decorated like a sweet old lady’s home and just not my speed — not a place I’d pick out on my own. That being said, the staff are so nice and the food is very good and fresh. There aren’t a lot of sit-down eateries where you can be comfortable and have someone serve you very good, fresh and home-made style chicken salad. There is enough variety on the menu that even the most picky eater can find something to eat. The staff is very familiar with the menu, so if you ask your waitperson what comes on an item, they will be very detailed and specific. You can customize your order to your heart’s content and they are quick on drink refills. Their flavored teas are also a nice treat.

The first thing we noticed was that both our water glasses were dirty. The placemats had dried food on them. is place is far over rated. We ordered a chef salad which was nothing more than a little iceberg lettuce, a few shredded carrots, a few pieces of sliced lunch meat and cheese. It was like a small Dinny’s dinner salad on a plate for $ 8.75. We were speechless. The owner came around to ask if everyone was enjoying the food. We could not bring myself to tell him that this was the worst food preparation we had ever experienced and for these High prices. He was very gracious but I could not help but feel like he should be a bit embarrassed to serve this food for these prices. We were beyond disappointment. I have enjoyed a small salad at Wendy’s(for under $ 2.00) more than this sorry excuse of a Chef salad. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEORMONEYATTHISPLACE ! We dine out daily and just can not get over how this guy can stay open serving food like this for these prices. Stay away.

They gave a tiny sampler of 4 salads at the beginning of our meal for free(all of the samples were wonderful). I got the 3 salad plate — chicken chutney, spinach salad, and rice and chicken soup. The chicken chutney salad is absolutely wonderful and I really enjoyed the tomato vinaigrette on the spinach salad. The soup was alright, but I would probably order a different salad instead. We also got the Kentucky Derby Pie with whipped cream and that’s pretty good too if you like pecans. Lastly, the owners are super friendly so their customer service was top notch.

This was my first time going and I have to agree with the other reviews. The staff was very nice. The owner brought us a mini salad sampler with the 3 chicken salads and the broccoli salad which were all very good. I went with the chutney chicken salad and chicken and rice soup and fruit salad. Oh my! The soup was delicious! I recommend the soup for sure and the chicken salad was very good. It had a hint of curry in it which was very different from any chicken salad I have ever had. I will definitely tell my coworkers about it and will return there myself.

We’re big, big fans of this place. Try the 3 salad plate(broccoli salad is the best), apricot tea and the warm pecan-chocolate pie with real whipped cream. This is a small place(15 tables maybe) with only one waiter-the owner; someone else filling up tea/water glasses; and a cook. So, if they’re busy you may have a bit of a wait. But the food is consistently good and well worth the wait. Great little breads and pastries. As other reviewers have noted, the bathroom situation is strange. It’s a shared bathroom with other stores. Maybe go easy on the tea! They sell tea, brownies, candles and other knick-knacks at the front of the store. They are listed on . Give it a try.

I came in here for some lunch on my way to somewhere in Carrollton. It’s in the historic area, and quite cute. Parking wasn’t too hard to find, but I did park like a block away. This was a cute little place. There were 3 other tables here besides me. I had to use the restroom, and I had to walk back towards the kitchen, then down the hallway, and I see other shops sharing the same bathroom. I asked what their«famous» broccoli salad was like and he offered me a small sample taste. It wasn’t really my choice of salad to eat, so I didn’t order an order. I ordered the chicken broccoli crêpe– It was OK. I probably wouldn’t order it again. Small, shredded diced up chicken and diced up broccoli rolled up in a crêpe, served in a ramkin like an enchilada. Potato soup– It was OK. Nothing special. Cheese bread casserole– I don’t see why it’s so popular. I didn’t taste any kind of cheese. It was actually kind of greasy. Apricot tea– It wasn’t bad, but mainly because I was thirsty. The owner was very friendly. He managed the entire place from hosting, taking orders, serving, and cashier. He talked to everybody. Overall, the food that I ordered were OK. I heard the lady asked what their daily special was: Chicken and mushrooms– it sounded good. I think I would come back here and try the other things on their menu before I completely rule it out. I did, however, expected an option for high tea, but I don’t think they do that here. It’s just a quaint little café to have lunch. Everything is under $ 10
