I think it’s great that people turn their noses up at Big Lots. More delicious caramel Mallowbisc for $ 1 for me, suckas.

I really need something between a «Meh» rating and an «A-OK» rating here. I came to Big Lots today because I was out of toilet paper. Now, everyone– and I mean everyone– uses toilet paper. Well, maybe not the Europeans and their fancy butt-washing machines, but I bet everyone in Carson City does. Since everyone uses it, you should always have some on hand. I mean, there’s a BIG difference between taking the Walk of Shame down the hall to your other bathroom, and taking the Walk of Shame down to the grocery store. Luckily, I wasn’t THAT desperate, but I was out. Now, if I were to go to, say, Raleys and get it, why everyone would KNOW–«You ran out of toilet paper, because that’s the only thing you’re getting.» The cashier would say [knowingly] «FINDEVERYTHINGYOUNEED?» Well, I’m not going to go through that. At Big Lots, they are very non-judgemental. Plus, they have a decent price on toilet paper, so I got two packages. I kind of glanced at a few rows of other goods and sundries while I was there, and it does look like a dollar store that graduated high school but got a GED. My impression from the name of the store is that they buy a lot of something to get a good price on it, but what it looks like is an economy Kmart. It was clean, not too busy, and the attendant was as pleasant as she had to be. This would be a great place, I think, to buy stuff for little kids birthday parties and things that are… well… cheap, in every sense of the word. They’re not trying to fool anyone, I don’t think, so I’ve giving them an A-OK rating. They are what they are.

For a Big Lots this one is one of the bigger and better laid out stores I have been to. There is plenty of open space and things are not cluttered like in other locations, the isles are nicely spaced and they have things in a nice order that makes it pleasant to shop. They are always getting new items and it pays to check them out every once in a while. Last newest find was iphone hard cases for $ 5 and Loreal hair color for $ 4.50.

once in awhile you can grab something unusual here but the prices are about the same if you went to the outlet store.

Crap, crap, crap. Look carefully, most of the merchandise sold here is barely a step above dollar store quality. I bought a set of three cute chenille socks for $ 5 — all three fell apart the first time I washed them. The aisles are tough to navigate — God forbid two people both with shopping carts end up in the same aisle. It’s a show down, with someone having to cry«uncle» and backing up and out of the aisle.
