This place is ok at best. Ive been there several times and just never felt that ‘magic’ some of the other reviews speak of. Its a very small bar with a customer base almost completely made up of a few older gentlemen. Theres a hint of ‘locals snobbery’ here. Small selection on tap, but they were all very nice, unique beers. I especially like the red ale. They do food on football nights sometimes, its average bar food. TVs inside and out, so you dont have to miss the game while you take a smoke break.

It’s sad to see this place go downhill after so many years. This was once a mellow place that offered something different in Carson City. Sadly, a change in ownership doesn’t seem to have done this place any favors. The lighting is now glaring, the décor has«witty» signage you’d expect to see at a frat house and the bartender and some regulars took to making fun of patrons while I was there. None of this has brought down the prices as you might expect. It’s no longer worth taking a trip so far out of the way for higher prices than other places in town. I’m giving this two stars as some of the original charm is still left and I’m sure with a more respectful crowd, you might still have an enjoyable time here on occasion.

I don’t drink beer, but they have other fun stuff for me. The reviews have got it pretty correct. The pub is a pub, not a bar. The beer is unique for the area. The art is cool and from local artists. It’s usually pretty quiet and mature, but has your hipsters holding down the fort most of the time. Very small! Do not come here if you’re looking to people-watch because we can hear all the conversations and will invite you or ourselves in. It’s friendly here. I loved the review about the bathroom being cool, because it is pretty awesome! People here are always down to earth!

Coolest bathroom in Carson! It sounds strange but trust me, you have to see it for yourself. The inside of the bar is not what you expect going in because the outside building is pretty generic so it’s a pleasant surprise walking in. As for beer selection, it’s the only place I know of in town that carries Old Rasputin. YUM! If you’re there with a bunch of friends you have to experience the SHOTSKI! That’s an order soldier.

Feisty Goat was a welcome surprise. As a recent transplant to the area, I didn’t have the highest expectations, but this place was definitely impressive — thanks, Unilocal reviewers, or I never would have found it! I went there on a Saturday afternoon just after it opened that day, and the place wasn’t very busy — which was great for me. Heather was very knowledgeable about the various beers offered, and gave me a couple of tasters of her very good recommendations before I ordered(always appreciated). The exterior of the location isn’t anything to write home about, but beer selection is nice, the atmosphere is quirky but cool with local artwork on the walls, the bathrooms are clean and well-decorated, and they have a small outdoor patio. Oh, and no indoor smoking. Yesss! I’ll definitely be back.

I know I should have written about this great little pub when I chanced upon it while they were first building it a few years ago, but quite frankly, after it opened I was hoping to keep its discovery to myself. When you visit, you will see why a body might want to keep this establishment to themselves. It’s got a kind of magic about it. Something here makes you feel like you are one of just a lucky few that have stumbled through the door of boring reality and landed into a happy Secret Beer Garden of friendly bartenders/owners, great music, unusually artsy ambiance, and brilliant pints for a good price. You look around, amazed, and say nope, I’m not telling anyone about this — more beer for me. Off the beaten path a bit, this diminutive pub is a rare and happy find in a small casino city awash 24 hours a day with bland $ 1PBR and Bud(barf) Not only does The Goat have a decidedly amazing selection of unique brew, it’s apparent that the owners have lavished their little baby with much love, dedication and attention to detail. From the well-thought-out beer selection to the quirky local art for sale on the wall… from the amazingly hand-made bar(ask them about it sometime) to the hand painted bathroom ceilings, anyone can see this little surprise on the corner of the world’s smallest, out-of-the-way strip of stores has been a labor of love. The owner’s enthusiasm for and love of what they do is contagious; they unconsciously and effortlessly incite their customers fall in love with them, the pub and their beer choices. So I give up. This minuscule pub is such a huge powerhouse of good times, relaxation and excellent beer that it’s just too mean of me to keep to myself any longer. *sigh* So go to The Feisty Goat some happy hour and ask Rob, Lucas or Heather what’s on tap, or get yourself a delicious pint of something unusual from the bottle fridge. Not into brews? Then have them suggest a premium or unusual liquor of some kind(one night they had us try an Amarula Marula Fruit Cream Liqueur, made from berries that only grow on the plains of Africa, ohemgee, yum). Better yet, let them shake you up a martini(their Lemon Drop is quite seriously the best I’ve ever tasted). Then sit at that amazing bar, kick back and enjoy your drink and their excellent playlist, or play a quiet game of darts, or just snuggle with friends into a cozy, bedarkened nook for a nice natter without the incessant sound of slots. But whatever you do, don’t mention to anyone that I told you about The Feisty Goat; I sorta kinda promised certain people I’d keep this great place our little secret. Ooops. Guess the Goat is out of the bag. o_O

I’m in Carson City to visit my best bud. It was his b’day, and the little guy wanted to go to some«rad bar called the Feisty Goat.». We all decided to humor the birthday turd and to his little goat bar… AWESOME! Immediately out the window went my designated driver status. From the outside(front) it is a bit uninviting. Sort of drab and in a run down, small strip mall. Upon entering, however, the good times flow. The regulars were friendly. The bartendress was ver cool and the prices were damn good. The beer and spirit selections were obviously choosen with care. And, the persons who did so with care did an excellent job. My friend got a free drink of his choice once the bartendress realized it was his b’day. Then, latter, all four of us got free shots! We drank our fill. The drinks were excellent, especially the kidney shot — Guiness with a touch of a raspberry lambic. They even had microwave TV dinners available(I wish we had had those after the crappy time we had at Kim Lee’s Sushi latter). This damn goat beats any bar I have been to. That includes those in San Fran. Also, a regular toldr there are never fights or problems — a big plus toe. Ten stars if possible I would give the goat.

If you want a cold brew and no B/S to deal with, this is your pub. Owners Rob and Lucas spare no expense to make pouring you a beer a great experience. They have a very classy atmosphere, smoke free and the most premium beers on tap and in the cooler. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed.

The Goat is a pretty cool pub. This is the place to go if you want a cocktail without dealing with smoke. They have a cool atmosphere, and a cool bartender. They don’t have a jukebox, which is fine by me. They play good stuff. Also, it isn’t expensive.

The Goat features excellent art, a nice atmosphere and darts. Brings a little class to the Carson City area. Check out their selection of micro-brews and imports. They also have an assortment of top-shelf cocktails.
