We ended up here sort of by chance as our original beer drinking location was closed. It wasn’t too crowded on a late Sunday afternoon. I liked that they had outdoor seating, but we sat inside. Our server was bubbly and right over. Beers all around. Yeah, they checked my ID! Pizza was what we were in the mood for so that’s what we had. The meat lovers for $ 14 sounded good. If that wasn’t enough, we could always get wings or fries or something. Which we did. One order of the Chili Cheese Fries, $ 6.95(healthy bunch aren’t we?). The Cheese Fries were a goopy mess but very tasty and a went well with the beer and held us till pizza time. Our pizza arrives in a timely manner as do a second round of drinks. The interior just feels comfortable in a sort of casual but non divey way. I like that. The pizza was decent quality and didn’t skimp on the toppings. I hate pizza places that do that, up charge for that Italian sausage and you get like what? 8 pieces with a lot of space in between? Not here. I’m not sure I’d make this a regular spot when I visit Carson City, but it served it’s purpose then and I’d say give the place a try, its pretty decent.

Went there because other Unilocal bragged how great their fish n chips. When we went there not a soul there. just myself and bartender. Who I believe came out twice, once to ask what to drink, and the next time to bring the drink… other then that crickets chirping… she never came back to ask what we wanted… very strange. Did I tell you that there was a not a soul there on a Wednesday afternoon before 3pm??? No thanks, terrible slow service. Would not recommend this place to anyone, unless of course you want to be ignored.

Classic pub. Good beer and food. Ordered the Guiness steak. Very tasty and the vegetable medley that came with it was very good. Atmosphere was good with an outdoor fire pit. Definitely worth a stop.

My boyfriend and I have been here several times for their all you can eat wings on Tuesdays. This last experience was bad enough that we may not return. Let me start out by saying that the food is a little above average – some things tastier than others. The service is is usually decent! We always tip our quirky servers. We arrived at 8:25 pm on a Tuesday night. The dining area had maybe seven other people eating/finishing their food. The kitchens closes at 10pm. We were seated right away and our drinks came timely. However it took the waiter 27 minutes to take our order – he was too busy talking with his friends at the bar. Then to took them another 35 to make the food, AND it was served cold. I usually order something other than the wings(the chili or nachos), and my boyfriend orders AYCE. Let me add that their AYCE wing portions are only five wings. Usually it takes about 15 minutes for both orders to come out of the kitchen, even on their busiest days! As my boyfriend was finishing his first round of wings we were told the kitchen was about to close, so he was only able to order ten more wings. We will not be returning. Very, very unprofessional and rude.

Lets first start off saying that I’ve never had bad service in this place! I’ve read some of the last reviews and completely disagree. That being said, everytime I go there we get our drinks right away from Charles, it had always only taken a few seconds! We normally are either in for Lezlee’s shift or Jaimie’s and always get treated great. Some of my favorite dishes are the meatloaf, the Mac and cheese and the all you can eat wings! I would definitely recommend this place to friends coming into town as it has a great atmosphere and a cozy fireplace outside. And a nice little bar in the back to relax in. Would definitely come back again.

Again we were over charged for the soup And my husband had the fish and chips… The chips were cold and hard and the botton of the bag bits… disappointing because the fish was perfect

Great food! I’ve had the pot pie on a previous trip. This time I had the pastrami sandwich. Really good flavors and the service is good. But the ambiance is what you’ll continue to come back for. It’s an absolutely one of a kind establishment. It fails to be identified by any normal standards while appealing to crowds from every genre. It’s worth the visit.

Our service was terrible which is sad because food was pretty good although served cold because the bartender was too busy talking with his friends to serve us so who knows how long its was ready for. But i do know we waited about 3o mins. I could go on and on cause service sucked but if u have time to waste and want good food go there just dont expect anything else ull b disappointed.

They have no cask ales, so I’m not sure how this is British. Good selection of… one brewery, though :/ I hear the food is good, but I didn’t try it, so I’ll update the review when I do.

We arrived in town late in the evening. After checking into our motel, we set out to find some dinner. Luckily, some kind person steered us in the direction of The Firkin and Fox, just down the street. The brewpub looked appealing as we pulled up, outside. There were lots of patio seating near an outdoor fireplace. Inside, we were promptly shown to a booth and given menus. (The inside of the restaurant-pub was just as appealing with wood booth tables and a genial Brit-feel about it.) To start us off, we each ordered a glass of iced water and also ordered a 20 oz imperial stout. The stout was delicious… full of warm, full roasted barley character and some intriguing chocolate-coffee notes. Smooth, lingering finish. Very satisfying. Food: Respectively, the two of us had the chicken pot pie and the house burger with sweet potato fries. Of course, when the food arrived, we tried tastes off each other’s plates. The burger was uncommonly good. The beef pattie was perfectly cooked medium, and was not a bit dry nor greasy. Surprisingly, the bun was also quite good, and the pat tie did not shame the bun. Both were devoured with much gusto and enjoyment. The chicken pot pie was served on a very hot ceramic deep plate fresh from the oven. The top crust was rectangular and draped over the whole broad-brimmed bowl and toasted golden. Not too creamy nor too salty, the fresh ingredients of celery, carrot, and chicken breast were presented well in this dish. I would order both, again, in a heartbeat. The service was energetic, friendly, and prompt. Even though there was a large group of perhaps 10 people who had ordered just before us, our wait was not too long.

This place is right across the street from the capitol complex. I chose this place because a foodie senator friend sometimes posts pics from here. I was by myself and the place wasn’t packed. Ordered a chardonnay and the Chinese Chicken Salad –great dressing. I left feeling like I’d had plenty of dinner, but kind of wanting ice cream, which I didn’t end up getting, which was ok because it was just enough food! Monday seems to be karaōke night and it starts early — like before 8:00! If you are a karaōke fan, yay! I’m not(unless the singing is bad), so this was my cue to get up and go stroll the capitol grounds.

Went with a business colleague for a relaxing meal after a hard day’s work. Very disappointed. It was crowded on a Tuesday night, which was a good sign. Wrong. Service was horrible. It’s a bar and restaurant, so when our server asked us if we wanted something to drink and we told him, he explained he wasn’t old enough to serve alcohol. It took a very long while… right before we were going to leave… for our waitress to finally come by. Cottage pie was awful… Very hot in spots, cold in others.(Microwaved?) The cold mashed potatoes on top were tasteless and not fresh… what I’d imagine spackling compound would taste like. The replacement fish and chips was actually very good. Too bad the horrible service will prevent a return.

In town for a couple days, tonight we came here for dinner Wonderful décor and large outdoor dining area. Very relaxing atmosphere. Service was very good(though there was this guy that didn’t seem to know anything but was trying to help out… perhaps a boyfriend or son that was only helping for the night? It was actually a bit comical) Sam had the chicken strips and enjoyed them, I had the beef and mushroom pie which had an amazing flavor, the mashed had chunks of potato and the carrots a bit o garlic. The fried calamari was a perfect appetizer to start us off To end the meal the server said peach cobbler so I had to try it. Sam chose the root beer float. You simply must try the cobbler. Nuts, peaches, warmed with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream melting on top. Easily enough to share.

Sitting outside on a relaxed weekend is one of my favorites here! The atmosphere is great, the staff have been top notch and the food is consistently great. When you see a chicken pot pie headed to a table it’s hard not to stare a little since it’s size does grab attention, but don’t worry it’s not as large as the top crust would have you believe. Simply put, it’s delicious … The crust is flakey and perfectly cooked … The inside is perfectly seasoned … After there’s nothing but an empty bowl, try peeling the extra crust off the sides of the bowl when nobody is looking — yeah it’s that good.

The Firkin & Fox has the most wonderful atmosphere. We drove down to Carson City last Sunday to run some errands and once we were done we stayed for a little shopping and then lunch. It was a nice little getaway and not a far drive at all. The restaurant is an English style pub located in the historic St. Charles Hotel, a building that has been upgraded, painted and flowered up. Parking is easy on street parking on side streets. It’s just so cute you’ll notice it even if you drive by. Look for the red, French-quarter looking place on the main drag. The pub has extensive beer menu and in addition to many nationally known brews they also serve the local favorite High Sierra Brewing company beers. They also have a nice variety of wines and other fine cocktails as well. We sat out on the patio for lunch and it was nice and shady, perfect for a very warm summer day. I ordered the fried chicken and strawberry salad with a poppyseed vinaigrette. It was the salad special of the day and the strawberries were so red, ripe, juicy and perfect I could smell them as the plate was being carried to the table. Our server told us that they had just been purchased at the local farmers market.(Hence the reason for the great special). The light salad greens and dressing were perfect and the fried chicken was crispy, not greasy at all and really cooked perfectly. I would have preferred a bit more seasoning on the chicken though, it was just a little bland but it was still so good. Salt and pepper helped with that. Other than that the salad with a glass of Chardonnay made for a near perfect summer Sunday lunch. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pot pie and said it was wonderful as well. The presentation was pretty impressive too. He also ordered a margarita which he declared«very good», drank it up and ordered another. Our server was top-notch, full of information when asked about events in Carson and the beer and food as well. He chatted with us for a few minutes and invited us to come back for the Taste of Downtown event in Carson. If we didn’t have several graduation parties that weekend we would have loved to come back. We definitely had 5 star service. I can’t wait to go back and try dinner or brunch. Both menus looked fabulous and of course those specials…

The mussels are a gift from the gods. The steak is a joyous, ecstatic experience. The bread pudding? Sticky, chewy foodgasm. I think you know what to do. I don’t have to say any more.
