I wish I lived closer so I could just come here and hang out. Such a cool place and definitely worth stopping in if you’re traveling through. Great food, great coffee, great prices, and cool staff. And so much stuff to look at while you wait. You won’t be bored here!

I’ve been a long time returning customer to this place, and I admit I’m leaving this review out of love and hope that someone who works there reads these and that it turns around soon. The quality of food is not worth the price. I can buy a cheaper sandwich at state line than here, and the ingredients here are not exceptional, unlike state line(sprouts for example). For the first two years or so of my regularity in eating at comma coffee, here and there my order wasn’t right or just plain wasn’t good, this was maybe once every three or four times of going(I would go once a week). Now, I basically walk through the door(only once a month for food, at best) anticipating an incorrect order and/or a boring, poorly prepared meal which I could have made better myself at home. Lately my boyfriend and I have just been getting smoothies and even they come out lukewarm, with varying flavors of supposedly the same smoothies. My bf and I once came here and ordered a sandwich meal with a bowl of soup and two smoothies and it was almost $ 30… We had to ask for his soup to be reheated twice and gave up the third time after realizing they were just microwaving it to death with almost no difference in temp. It was a Saturday. Is it outrageous to expect a restaurant to keep their soup warm with means other than microwaves, on a busy day like Saturday? Also, the owner of comma coffee is not kind or pleasant to speak to or be around. She has never spoken a word to me and I ask her how she is doing and say thank you when she serves me. I repeat, she has never said one word to me, and I regularly spend $ 15 – 35 with 15%-20% tip at her mediocre establishment! If she isn’t a people person, she needed to get a different job. She’s honestly the worst part of the entire place; when I walk in and see her i sometimes consider leaving solely on the principle that she is so rude and unappreciative. The ambiance no longer makes up for the poor food with ridiculously high prices. It most definitely feels like a rip off scam, run by a woman who only cares about money and nothing about having a genuinely good small town café. And it had so much potential! I will say that the girls who work there are very nice, though, and they seem like they might just not have too much restaurant experience or something.

We come here all the time. Food is great with a good selection. Free WiFi makes it all the more the place to go for breakfast and lunch. On special days they have entertainment. Try it you’ll like it!

I received crappy service from the minute I stepped in, maybe it was because I didn’t maintain a cool-kid nonchalant vibe, but rather I was in awe from the majestic décor. I had hoped for the food and coffee to at least be good, but the bread was dry AF, and the coffee wasn’t any better. Too bad, I really wanted to like this place, but I don’t need a side of attitude from a long trip back home.

Met a friend there for a busy lunch. I am a coeliac so I hardly leave the comfort of my own kitchen. They had no gluten free breads or lettuce wraps, but I ordered a delicious cold cut wrap with the veggies and cheese inside the bread with a huge side of mustard. A lovely, gluten free meal which of course is low carbs. They use the Boar’s Head meats which are very good quality. I also want to commend the staff for their knowledge and care over gluten cross contamination, as I do receive blood work to ensure the dietary therapy is helping. I noticed the staff was well versed with the differing items served and what triggers were out there, which I can’t thank them enough. It’s always best with the simple foods which are not out of a box, prepared by hand, and with lots of love.

Can’t wait to go back here! Met up with one of my friends here and while waiting I got to take in all the beautifully eclectic décor! Once my friend arrived, one of the gals came straight to our table to take our order. We both had one of their double lattes(fabulous) and I had their lox while my friend had a custom bagel sandwich(both very fresh and delicious). The atmosphere of this coffee house is calm yet inviting and alluring. One of the barista gals was very witty, which I admire, and very friendly. I’m moving to Carson City in the next month and anticipate visiting this place on my days off from work :)

What a cute place !! Eclectic, relaxing and just all around great !! The staff was super nice and our service was quick and the food was delicious. Highly recommend the bagel variation !! We just wrapped up a 3 – 4 day Tahoe trip and this was by far our best decision in food/restaurant/coffee. Would love to come back and sit here for hours. My husband and our good friend enjoyed a game of chess !!

Comma Coffee is a lively, unique coffee house in downtown Carson. I ordered a dirty chai that was prepared pefcectly, not too sweet, beautiful foam. I was given a very yummy, fresh, cranberry pecan muffin. The food and coffee were great but I was most impressed by their service! I knocked my drink over and the barista was quick to prepare me another chai at no charge. They were very friendly and I definitely recommend Comma Coffee!

I really, truly try to remain positive on here. I’m not one to rant about a business. I’d honestly much rather leave it alone and not give it my money again. So with that being said, I honestly don’t know how I’d rate my first experience at Comma Coffee, since it wasn’t necessarily a positive one. But I’m going to come back at another time and see if I have a better experience then, and update my review at that time. And for now, I’m going to stay safe in the middle and give it three stars. Now, I’m not going to detail every little thing about my experience, because as I just got finished saying, I don’t rant. But I’ll give you a quick summary… The café hours are clearly posted on the door and on Unilocal. They close at 8pm on Saturday nights. Tonight, we arrived at a little after 6:30pm. Also, the«open» sign was on. When we walked in, the two employees were already closing for the night. They were very clearly peeved that we came in and that we actually wanted service. Ten minutes of passive aggression later, we were more or less pressured out of the establishment with our two vanilla lattes and one chai — in to-go cups, of course. Literally, they turned off the«open» sign and bid us a nice night. After marveling over all that had transpired in the past ten minutes, we each took a sip of our drinks… and they were less than wonderful. The lattes were just that — lattes. With no vanilla. And they were bitter as all heck. And the chai? It honestly tasted like something chemical. We didn’t even finish them. So. I’ll be back. Likely in the day this time. And I’m hoping I have a more stellar experience because I’ve heard stellar things about this place. I think that’s pretty fair.

Great place to read, study, work, chat or relax on their sofas. Interiors are very special. Spend some time appreciating the pictures, drawings and paintings hanging on their walls.

Not many choices for coffee in downtown Carson. The coffee/Latte are very average to say the least, no different than casino coffee when you get down to it. This place needs a make over or for the very least a deep cleaning. The fabrics on the chairs/couches need to be cleaned they’ve begun grow bacteria colonies. At least Starbucks or Dutch Bros are consistent, probably because they don’t buy their supplies from Costco, lol. Just not worth eating what they serve, that’s if they even have it in stock. All pre prepared foods all they do is assemble, just a bit pricy. Too many other clean places to to go and enjoy good coffee and good food.

When it comes to grabbing a coffee in Carson City, you don’t really have much choice — this place sits right on the main road and has a free public parking lot just over the road. The brewed coffee ist absolutely drinkable, but nothing extraordinary… the Sandwiches however are quite amazing! Large, filled with succulent meat and a slightly tangy sauce… very tasty experience. Seriously, that was one great road-side sandwich! On a more negative note, the staff was pretty inattentive and the whole place has a slightly dirty touch to it. Time for some pre-spring cleaning maybe? All in all i’d say it’s a decent place to grab a bite if you’re passing by.

Schräg, flippig, chaotisch & irgendwie doch ganz cool…

Coming to Carson City durning the legislative session I was very curious how things worked. I was also there to support Über back in Nevada. Seeing this cool coffee shop right across the street from the capitol I parked and walked in. WOW look at this place. Staff was very friendly welcoming me with a warm good morning. Very cool look inside and lots of great things to order. I got a very yummy Chai Tea that they whipped up very quickly and rushed over to my table. Did I say this was yummy? Yup I did but I’ll say it again. This was yummy enough to bring me back from the short drive from Reno to try lots more.

It doesn’t matter how good the coffee is the people who are serving are rude! I mean the ambience is good, a lot of people seem to be enjoying themselves so maybe it’s because I’m not a local. regardless she was hella mean

This is absolutely one of my favorite holes in the wall in Carson City. It provides such a serene respite from the chaos underway across Carson Street. Oh, and the brews and grub are also quite impressive on their own. This time, I tried the egg casserole with pesto, spinach, and Swiss cheese. Yum! I usually sauté spinach when incorporating it into my hot dish recipes. But in this case, the fresh spinach provided a crisp textural contrast that worked beautifully with the herby pesto sauce and the gooey melted cheese. And yes, the scrambled eggs themselves were cooked perfectly. And of course, what use is a coffee house if it doesn’t serve good, quality, well brewed coffee & tea? The chai was among the best I’ve had in Northern Nevada. It may even rival the great Vegas coffee houses.

I love this coffee shop, and I’d almost move to Carson City for it. Almost… It’s big and cavernous and busy and cozy in all the ways a coffee shop should be. There’s lots of stuff on the walls, there’s a room in the back with books for browsing, there are greeting cards and mason jars with quirky sayings on them for sale. There’s wifi and it’s a place you could hang out in for hours; I’d come here from Reno just do sit with my laptop and have coffee or tea and food. I only wish it was open a bit later.
