Horrible haircut. My hair was all messed up and gave me a balled spot. Not a good quality barber they need to learn how to cut hair.

On a walk-​in, I took my son in for his first «true barber experience». We were immediately greeted and made part of the conversations whule we waited. Gus made the extra effort to make my boy feel welcome and at ease. The attention to detail on the cut and the atmosphere was excellent. After leaving, my son said Gus was his «go-​to guy!»

Found this shop via Maps. Gus is a great barber and a classy guy. Shop is the atypical ‘Guys barbershop’. Took care of my 75 yr old Dad with Alzheimer’s with patience and care. Highly recommended for guys of all ages. And ESPN is always in!

This place is great. The barbers were friendly and I got the best cut I have gotten in a long time. It’s a no frills barber shop but the service was good and football was on the t.v. It’s within walking distance of downtown, which is a plus if you work on N. Carson Street. I will definitely return. Oh, and they offer a military discount for all those working for the Guard in town.

Only place I trust with my head in town! Fun place to hang out while you wait to get a haircut. Good and friendly barbers just great overall experience!

This place is great. I live in Dayton and there are no barbershops between there and Carson. I drive to Carson for work, so I was looking for a great barbershop. Here I found a great haircut and beard trim. Me and George got to shoot the shit and he was really nice. I get some ladies want to bash on barbershops for «inappropriate language» but you broads don’t understand that it’s a barbershop. A barbershop is a man’s place, and we talk like men. You want a family place to get your 6 year old’s haircut? Got to supercuts. Most barbershops I’ve been in have playboys laying on the coffee table…

I have to hand it to these guys when I first walked in they looked young but they definitely know what they are doing. My haircut turned out great and even the people in front of me hairs were really great cuts. I really liked the style and vibe they bring to the business. First time walking in yesterday didn’t know what to expect but right away I’m greeted by Gil and I felt like the whole environment was awesome. They had some nice leather couches to sit on for me to wait, Nice big tv with a basketball game on, and every question I asked, Gil had an answer and he was never disrespectful plus these two guys cutting hair looked like they were having a great time and they made me laugh too which was comforting. Got my haircut from Gil and he was a really chill dude I have to say that I’m pretty satisfied how he cut my hair and how he showed me how my hair should be cut since my hair has a natural flow and lays over to one side I definitely liked how he gave me his professional advice on how to go with cutting my hair. I will definitely be visiting again regularly my experience here was great for sure.

I’ve been getting my hair cut regularly at Top Notch Barber Shop for about a year. I get my head shaved… It’s not complicated. And, they do a fantastic job. I like that they will straight-​razor my neckline if I want. Most of all, I like that I do not have to leave my community to get a hair cut.
It’s true that it’s a bit rough around the edges (both aesthetically and as far as language). However, it is a barbershop, which for many is like going to a bar, so language and off-​color conversation are totally acceptable by me. Perhaps a filter when children are waiting may be appropriate. The barber I regularly see has actually been quite accommodating when I have had my daughters with me and thrown a cartoon on to keep them distracted.
Knowing that there was a rug shop – that literally had a huge stack of rugs on the floor and a guy there to sell them – at this location prior to Top Notch sways me to support this barbershop. Downtown Carson City still has several vacancies with big plans the city is trying to implement over the next few years. I do my best to support downtown, which I should note has NO chain businesses and is slowly developing.
I support Top Notch Barber Shop and make sure I get in at least once a month.

If i could rate this 0 star i would. Waiting for my son outside to get a haircut. I hear the barber saying F@$!# for every other word. And the other barber cussing saying how a girl he knows is on meth. It sounded like a bunch of gangsters in there to the point i told him lets go to another barber. ABSOLUTELY NOT THE WAY TO DO BUSINESS! Its one thing your clients speaking like that but when you own the shop/​represent the shop you maintain a certain level of professionalism and respect and maintain an enviroment that people will fwel comfortable to come back year after year. I would never come back here nor rw xomend this place to anyone. Period. And we are vising from orange county cali and never have seen a barber shop act in such a foul and unprofessional manor as both they did.
