I went in here the other day and asked for a few specific things. The gentleman that helped me was very knowledgable on the items I was looking for. I don’t recall his name, but what a professional he was. Thanks again.

Closing store at the end of August. THISSUCKS. Best hardware store within 100 miles. Very upset.

When you want a REAL hardware store — this is it! And, I don’t care what name they go by now, it’ll always be «Coast to Coast» to us old timers. Whenever I need any kind of nut or bolt, I KNOW I can find it here. They have zillions of these things, and in every size imaginable. It’s what I call an «old fashioned» hardware store, like I remember growing up in the 50’s and 60’s. As the other reviewers mentioned, you barely enter the store and someone is asking if you need help, or directions to the ‘stuff’ you’re looking for. And chances are, they have what you need — and more. This is one of those places where you come for one thing, and notice stuff you didn’t KNOW you needed until you saw it. I always end up with more stuff than I came for, simply because I saw some more cool stuff. Quick service, and knowledgeable help. What a concept! Yup, I love this store.

I have an old home — 120 years old — and there’s a lot of work to be done on it. True Value has everything that I have ever needed, from plumbing to electrical and everything in between. What sets True Value apart from the others — namely Lowe’s and Home Depot — is their service. Employees won’t walk right by you without offering their services and they’ll never say, «That’s not my department.» This is especially true of Sam, who took extra time to make sure that I had every piece that I needed to install my sprinkler system. Some might worry that the prices at True Value aren’t competitive with their big box brethren, but this isn’t true. I’ve found the prices to be very reasonable. Another reason that I like True Value is that it’s a smaller place with ample parking. If you need just one thing, you’ll be in and out in a reasonable amount of time without fighting the weekend crowd that you’ll find at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Unless I need you need a major appliance or ten thousand nuts and bolts at once, try True Value. You won’t be disappointed.
