Winchell’s Donut House

The management really needs to get rid of the panhandlers and vagrants that loiter outside this store. Sometimes you have to go through a gauntlet of bums asking for spare change as you make your way to the entrance. The homless loiterers also leave trash lying about everywhere. That said this place has been around for over 30 years and has been a fixture at this corner of Carson street for a very long time. This is a convenient place to come and visit when you get a sudden urge for some pastry treats and you don’t feel like driving to nearby Gardena for Krsipy Kremes. I’m not a donut connosseur, a donut is a donut and in my opinion you really can’t go wrong with them. I used to frequent this place, but ever since I saw a huge fly in the glass case displaying their donuts awhile back, my opinion of thisdonut shop took a nose dive.

I’m just not sure I can explain how good these donuts are! Another trip down memory lane here in California! So many freshly baked goodies and friendly employees. The coffee is good too! Yumm Yumm!

This place has terrible service. Woman is rude she seen me but she just stayed in the back. Finally I said can I get a donut and she said well you were just sitting over there. What difference does that make I was sitting with people who bought something. I decided I wanted a donut. After standing there for 10 minutes. She gets the donut I give her my money $ 20 she says I don’t have change for that and she turned around and went to the back. I had 90 cents to give her but she took off to the back. This place truly sucks with service. Just left from this horrible place.

The coffee is so fresh nice and hot like their donuts the winchells donuts in Carson is the best clean establishment I’ve ever been into I’ve been coming to this establishment since I was the age of 5

One of the few Winchell’s left. This one doesn’t disappoint when the donuts are fresh. Located at the end of a shabby strip mall, this whole drab area is in need of a makeover. But don’t let that stop you from reaching your objective. The goal of the day is donut goodness. To reach your goal you might have to get pass a few people with their hands out asking for «donations». The decision you make is up to you. Once inside, you’ll be standing in a narrow path between window and counter. This usually requires some foot shuffling as customers come and go and you get your request in. The people behind the counter work in sync to create a dance of taking orders, pouring coffee and handling money. There’s a nice size area to sit and eat, but I’ve never been that far in. Looks kind of dingy back there. I get my goodies and go.
When the donuts aren’t so fresh at home, a quick 15 second zap in the microwave will fix you up.

Went in for a quick donut run to bring to the coworkers at work. There were two ladies working the counter and both were very quick to help and very efficient. I got out of there fairly quick, the donuts were neatly packed, and survived the voyage to work. Will definitely be back!

The donuts are usually good. Fresh batches are super yum.
The service has been inconsistent for a while now. Sometimes they’re prototypical behind the counter, other times you’re waiting for someone to wander into view for assistance.
The selection, on paper, is diverse but the availability is unpredictable. In my opinion, you should avoid operating with mostly empty trays – especially if you’re open 24 hours a day. I’ll still go here though because there’s nowhere else in town that can match the convenience. It can feel scary late at night, so make your donut run with a friend or two.

This Donut spot has been here for a long time already and it seems as of they added so much to the menu. I usually go here when I get a car wash across the street to get a snack or something.

Came here while waiting for car wash across the street. Sad to see how the winchells of my childhood has fallen :(. Im sure donuts and bagel sandwich i just ordered may be ok, but place needs better customer service and tables are all messy in dining area. Must be the area standard expectations.

Love this Winchell’s! They have the best coffee and donuts around! I’m always happy with the service and the variety they offer. Aside from regular donuts they have croissants, bagels, mini donuts, cake donuts and other yummy stuff. Another plus is they make fresh donuts throughout the day, so you don’t have to get stuck with what’s left over if you go in the afternoon :).

The workers at night have horrible customer service. Always saying they are out of things just so they don’t have to make anything. Even when you can see the trays full of croissants or donuts near the back of the kitchen. Just end up driving to the one in Long Beach.

I must have been starving or dying of hunger because I came here and placed an order for 1 bacon & cheddar breakfast sandwich, 2 regular donuts, 1 large mocha blended ice drink. By the way, this was all for me. That day I wasn’t too concern about calories or appearing in any fitness magazine.
Taste wise, the breakfast sandwich was ok for $ 3.50. The two donuts cost about $ 1.78. Seems over priced for two regular donuts. The large mocha blended ice drink was about average. All this for a cool $ 9.00.
Inside this facility I don’t think anyone noticed, but I did see water coming from ceiling and dropping inside. I sure hope it wasn’t someone’s tasty breakfast: (
