This practice is more about income for Dr. Wiggins then providing good care: The woman up front insisted our insurance doesn’t cover any of a contact lens fitting charge«No insurance does.» She was wrong as we receive a significant but not huge discount. Wiggins himself was rude and short with my wife with regard to some of her questions about vision problems she has recently encountered. Regarding his diagnosis: «I am telling you this today, but I have no control over what happens to you tomorrow.» Wow, lousy bedside manor doc. After a curt diagnosis that nothing was likely wrong with her eyes, he then tried to upsell her his preferred, and of course available for a fee out front eye drops. «The over the counter ones you are using are no good.»(She wasn’t actually using any drops, but he skipped right over that in the rush to his sales pitch.) At the end of the visit my wife further confounded his cash grab by refusing to buy contacts from his office. As is typical in my experience with eye doctors, his prices were about 150−200% of what you can find online. When she told him that she would have to pass for $ 50 for what you can pay $ 29.95 for online HEWALKEDOUTWITHOUT A WORD… leaving her in the examination chair wondering what was next. We recommend you take your eye care dollar elsewhere, we definitely will.
