I’ve been to the store last week a d picked up few cupcakes for my daughter… The cupcakes were awesome. The store is very upscale and inviting. I will go back there again for sure.

I was not impressed at all. Got the Hot Sundae cupcake. There was supposed to be «hot fudge» icing for a filling, there was barely any. The cupcake also crumbled terribly. The cake itself was not moist. Also to me it just had a very bland chocolate taste. I have seriously had better cupcakes at local grocery stores. For $ 3.70 I expected more than just a pretty package.

The cupcakes are beautiful and presentation is excellent, however, flavor just was not there. The pink champagne ones were the most flavorless ones I think I’ve ever tasted. Perhaps they added flour instead of powder sugar? Not one bit sweet in the least. The light blue colored ones were okay, but definitely not worth the price. The birthday cake one was okay, but probably because of the sugar coating. This truly saddens me as I like to see little stores like this do well. Parking is challenge here as well since the noodles restaurant customers or the movie theater customers take up all the close spots. Beware if you have a large order, there just is no close space to park (but please don’t subject all your guests to only these cupcakes!) I suspect that this place will have their niche customers and anyone who wants quality (not necessarily something unique) will head over to Harris Teeter. On a bright note, the store was spotless.

I can’t say enough good things about this great shop! I hosted a baby shower here for 15 people and it was a super cute space! Their staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly, went above and beyond and made it an absolute pleasure to plan. And the cupcakes are SO good!!!

Amazing! The cakes were moist with excellent flavor and the buttercream is divine velvet perfection. Not overly sweet. Buttercream is definitely an art. They have mastered it. Staff extremely friendly.

Yeah for a cupcake store close to me! We decided to stop here after dinner out. We purchased four cupcakes to take home which was around $ 15. We tasted them all and the cake was tender and flavorful. The icing is a bit much for me but perfect for my husband who is a sweet fiend. It would have been nice to have some type of berry cupcake that wasn’t as sweet or even small ones to purchase on site. There was plenty of seating including outside and it’s location next to cine bowl can’t hurt! I’m sure we will come back to try some more.

Wow, what a rip off! 4.00 for a cupcake? The cake was no better than cake box mix and the frosting was super thick, the whole top frosting part fell of the cake when bit into it. I did not find them to be especially attractive in how they decorated the majority of the cupcakes either. Will not be returning there!

Not much to say about this place other than that it’s the best cupcake spot in the area! I had the caramel macchiato cupcake. It was super moist with yummy ribbons of caramel running through the coffee cupcake. Pure cupcake heaven!

Better than GGs is not much of a compliment! The Cake part of the Cakes was Very Good the Icing was pretty good! We had a WeddingCake Flavored Cupcake and a Caramel and Pretzel Topped Cupcake… Thought it would have happened before now (IF it were even possible), is it possible I do not crave Sugar and ButterCream as much as I used too??? My next stop after here was the Candy Shop Sugar, so I’m not sure? I thought the Icing and Caramel toppings were TOO Sweet! I’m surprised I can even write this!

Holy chocolate icing Batman! One of my co-​workers brought two rather large boxes of Smallcakes cupcakes to the office from this location and I think i gained 5 lbs just looking at the varieties.
Since I can resist anything but temptation, I dove in, I ate one, then took some home to my family for them to try, and of course, I had to have one with them too… SO GOOD! MMM! I think there is a societal overuse of the word AMAZING, but in this case, OMG, it fits! AMAZING!
Of course, I had to bring my bride here after lunch today and we picked out a half dozen cupcakes to take home and try with our teenager.

I needed cupcakes on a Sunday for my husband’s birthday. We recently moved and are still unpacking. This was the only place open on Sunday that had baked goods. After reading the reviews, I was really excited to try it out. They have 12 different types of cupcakes. I ordered the cannoli cupcakes, the Mamosa cupcakes, and a red velvet cupcakes. The Mamosa cupcake and the Red velvet cupcakes were absolutely delicious! However the cannoli cupcakes were very rich and had so much flavor. it was difficult to eat the entire cupcake. I’ve had cannoli cupcakes from The Fresh Market that were better. I would recommend this place to others in the future, especially their regular flavors. I most likely will be back in the future.

At first, I thought $ 3.70 for one cupcake was outrageous! However, I’m glad I succumbed. My 3 friends and I shared the Peach Cobbler, Peanut Butter, Red Velvet and the Yellow with Pink Frosting. Ooohhhh myyyyy!

Delicious. Just delicious. The cake was super moist which is a rarity amongst many cupcake shops, and the frosting was very flavorful and decadent. I got the chocolate peanut butter cupcake (obviously) and the wife got the salted caramel. Both were really good. My friends got the pink chocolate and their daughter did NOT want to share it, lol. Check this place out because they are the best cupcakes in the area.

I was told to make sure and check out the new cupcakery that just opened in Parkside and definitely was not disappointed. We were celebrating my Mom’s birthday and thought a set of 4 would be great for her and my Dad to try. The staff was superb at answering questions about flavors and fillings and the cupcakes were fantastic! Super moist with just the right amount of icing to cupcake. This will definitely be the place to get cupcakes from now on. Others in the area can’t touch the quality. I highly recommend the Red Velvet, Birthday Cake and Chocolate Chip Cooke Dough (when available).
I know the business is super new so look forward to a follow-​up visit to see if the excellent quality continues. Great addition to the Cary neighborhood.

Visited Smallcakes Cary for first time and let me say this, No more Gigi’s for me! Cupcakes here are delish! Perfect amount of icing, perfect cake flavor and amazing customer service given by Marie! I had the birthday cake and planning on coming back for the caramel crunch, lemon drop, red velvet, hot fudge sundae, peanut butter cup, pink vanilla… I want them all!

Amazing cupcakes! And we enjoyed meeting the friendly co-​owner who gave us samples to try. The chocolate one that looks like a hostess cupcake is to die for! And the peanut butter frosting is delicious. We’ll definitely be back. Probably way too often!
