Very disappointed. Purchased a very pricey tiered cake for my sister’s surprise party. Color was off, flowers literally fell off the cake, and the entire cake was tipping over. Called and left a message for help regarding flowers that fell off. My phone call was never returned. Decided to go in today to discuss and was basically dismissed. Said they were closed when I called so that’s why they didn’t return the call. Said they were busy with Easter when the party was two weeks before Easter. Wanted to stay local, but will give my business to someone who wants to do it well. Very sad that this is a hometown business.

I wrote a longer review, but Unilocal seems to have eaten it. In brief, never had a bad experience with this bakery. I almost always stop in if I’m in that part of town. I need to remember to order my paczki for the year! I wish it were open more hours, but I know it’s pretty standard for a bakery.

I love this bakery, they have made several cakes for us and they have all been moist and delicious! We have also had cupcakes, cheesecakes, pastries and pies and can not complain about anything that they have in their bakery. We also had cookies for a baby shower and days later, people at work were still raving about them. You will not be disappointed in this bakery, give it a try!

Love this spot! They are so accommodating for everything I order, small changes or very big, are never an issue. They also make a custom doughnut for my husband modeled after the German éclair style he grew up with back home: smooth dark chocolate and a custom raspberry filling. They’ve helped me with planning for my picky 7th grade class and for ‘bigger kids’ that we host for the holidays. Always wonderful and a great bet to impress my clients. I never have to worry about excellent quality and a fantastic taste.

Sheryl did my babyshower cake and it was a beautiful surprise! It was city themed so she put such detail into the street names etc. Best of all it tasted amazing! Thanks Sheryl!

Not fresh! I decided to stop and try the bakery today, but after trying the stuff i bought we will not be back. You can tell that this is a bakery in trouble since there are limited quantities of items up front in the cases and things just look old. As a customer, you really do not want the«last» one of anything, especially in a small bakery with no foot traffic. It was hard to find something that looked fresh and ready to go, but I purchased a lonely key lime pie to try thinking that those can usually be fine after a few days. We could not have been more disappointed. It tasted«old» and the true alarm was that the whip cream frosting on top was spongy and the key lime tasted like old jell-o pudding. I also got some donuts that were also dry. It is really bad when a 5yo complains about a donut… that was a first. Summary. This was a first when the entire family did not finish their dessert tonight. Enough said.

Really hoped the breakfast pastries would be fabulous but alas, they were not. I tried a cinnamon roll and my son a chocolate iced donut. My roll’s favor was fine but it was very bready. The chocolate iced donut was okay but we’ve definitely had better. Also, we ordered a banana nut muffin to go, which we tried once we were home. It was very dry, almost like it was over baked slightly and lacked flavor. We will return to try their cookies and cupcakes but will probably skip the breakfast pastries next time.

This is the best bakery around. The pastries are amazing and the customer service is superb. They bake fresh every day and really care about their product. I am not sure where the negative review came from but I guess Jewel and Walmart can provide bakery goods for people who do not appreciate a real bakery. The doughnuts here are the best I have ever had, they put Crispy Crème to shame!

We were very excited when Cary opened a new bakery, but were quickly disappointed. Note: We’ve tried multiple times just to give second chances and in the hopes of having a better experience. PROS: Delicious coffee(not sure where it’s from). Any of the breakfast items such as donuts. Sadly that’s all I have! CONS: The other food was not good — mainly — not baked fresh daily. Call me a pastry snob, but I could hands-down make better quality, homemade pastries in my own home. We’ve ordered cupcakes(even though being advised to let them ‘sit out’ for a little while) that had frosting so rock hard, it makes a sound when you tap it. Cake products = dry and crumbly, never fresh, can tell they’ve been in the case. My brother in law and sister in law ordered an actual birthday cake for their mother, and they all said it was just terrible. They couldn’t believe it. And they aren’t pastry snobs like I am ;-) One experience we had was noticing the cinnamon rolls and pecan rolls were out in the open … flies buzzing around, a guy hovering over them very closely(booger dropping onto the food, anyone?). Lastly, their decorating skills are very old-school … something you’d see in the 90’s. Customer service was also not very good. One woman in particular had no personality and wasn’t helpful when asking opinions on what to buy. Long story short: Jewel makes better tasting and better looking cakes and pastries. I’d go there before I’d even go back to this bakery. I’m eager to try Sugar Hills in Algonquin. It’s all about quality … and sadly, Flour Shoppe hasn’t grasped that yet. I wish them well, but I don’t see a long future ahead if they keep up sub-par food like this.

It’s a great little place. The sourdough, cheese, cinnamon bread are so good. And they last awhile too. Cookies, pies are really good too. We do card, cookies and coffee there after hours. The owners are really nice, they care about product they sell. I would go back, I love that we have a bakery in Cary and prices are reasonable.

I ordered cupcakes for my sons 4th grade class. They did such a nice job decorating them! The kids loved them and were asking me where did I get them from. Good thing I ordered extra so I could eat some too. They were delicious! I will never buy another bake goods from somewhere else!

Nice bakery. Open at 4:30 for coffee and a donut. I picked up a mini pecan pie. Excellent! The place has a nice variety and will add stuff with enough requests.

I was so glad that Cary got a new bakery! Checked it out the other day. I bought a small red velvet cupcake. It was only so so. Cake part was dry, and frosting was not very good. They do have Happy Hour everyday with liquor infused cupcakes, that look divine! They are a little pricey for my budget. Will try them again, I like to support local business. I definitely will be back.
