The Original NY Pizza

It’s not often I’d prefer pizza hut or papa John’s but I would to this. Service was great but pizza flavor was just okay. The cheese sticks were not good at all and I mean how do you make a bad cheese stick ?! Overall lack of flavor. We had buffalo chicken pizza, a pepperoni and a sausage. We wont be ordering here again.

Stopped in for a quick reheated slice (okay, two slices) and it did not disappoint. This is a classic pizza parlour — not churched up like some pizza café or whatever. True to name, I got a genuine slice of NY pizza: soft crust with a little crisp, perfect cheese to sauce ratio and a little sweetness. The service was friendly and conversant. I would absolutely go back.

Good pizza but that’s about it I recommend doing take out and get the pizza because everything else is lacking

I had The White Garden Pizza.
It tastes very good with fresh basil and tomato, ricotta and mozzarella cheese!

Honestly, the pizza is good. But it’s pizza. I grew up in NY — making pizza isn’t rocket science. There are literally thousands of great NY pizza places in NY.
This place is receiving ONE STAR for service.
I walked in today for food. A kid was operating the register. I placed my order. The kid then relayed my order to the order maker… Another kid. No manager anywhere in sight.
My order: Two slices with a vegetable on top.
The outcome: Two slices with meat on top.
The conclusion: Offer me the meat with the vegetable order on hold.
First, I don’t eat meat so this was pointless and wasteful. Secondly, waiting twice as long for the order made me late for work. I already paid, otherwise I would have just walked out. My day is appointment based, so all of my appointments were thrown off schedule by this error. I take my work seriously.
The reason for this error: A girl, another kid, walked into the shop to hang out with the other kids. In other words, a kid not working at the place came into the establishment to play with her friends. The boys were too distracted, both of them, by the pretty girl to do their job correctly.
Again, no manager on duty, so this was completely unmonitored behavior.
With unmonitored kids running a place I cannot trust the food to be good. And… It wasn’t. My «fresh from the oven» slice was soggy. The dough flopped over without any form. It was as if I were eating just cheese and sauce attached to some sort of a crust. As I opened up with — this is pizza, and I grew up in pizza town. The quality was horrible, and with unmonitored kids running the place I can only imagine what nonsense they are up to while they are supposed to be working. I’m probably fortunate that I didn’t get food poisoning, or that I wasn’t overcharged.
Still, this is highly unacceptable. I would expect to see an adult on premises next time, preferably some sort of a boss.

The last few times I have picked up a pie to go the pizza has been a big improvement. We have been coming here on and off for 15 years. As a native New Yorker, I am picky about my pizza and for several years they were not always very good and would only order here if we were in a time crunch. It was often too salty and the dough could be tough. My wife and I have noticed a marked improvement the last several times to the point where it is a preferred option again. Still a little salty at times, but overall much better.

Eh. I was not impressed. I ordered a medium size pepperoni pizza. The bottom was hard and half way burnt the ingredients tasted pretty fresh but I could not fully enjoy my meal. I have tasted better pizza elsewhere. In fact, I am sure Chuck E Cheese and Costco along with Walmart brand pizza tops this New York Pizzeria place. Good luck with your Eats!

By far the worst pizza I’ve ever had. If you feel the need to try this place, and hopefully it’s just because your absolutely starving and every other restaurant is packed, avoid what they call a meatball at ALL costs. I don’t know for sure what it is, but I damn near gaged when I took a bite of one, the consistency is all wrong.

My go-​to place for pizza! Not greasy or drowning in sauce like most Triangle pizza joints, just simple and yummy. I love their pizza wraps and the pasta dish they call Pastarotti. Good prices, quick delivery, and they’ve never gotten my order wrong.

30 Years as a native New Yorker and let me tell you this place has dried up pizza. True New York pizza has a glistening layer of cheese, this pizza was dryer than dust! They must buy their reviews because it was absolutely disappointing.

My dad grew up in New Jersey, and when my parents came to Durham to help us move, he said he wanted pizza. «Not Pizza Hut,» he said, «actual New York style pizza.» It was the 4^th of July weekend and, oddly enough, a lot of the pizza places we found on Unilocal were closed, so we wound up here.
There were 5 of us, and we ordered two large pizzas; one with half beef (the only way Dad will eat pizza) and half pepperoni, and the other cheese. Mom’s root beer was flat, but the other sodas were fine.
The pizza here is pretty solid. The crust was on the soft side for my taste, and the sauce was both a little underseasoned and slightly skimpy, but overall it was a good pie. We finished off both pizzas, and Dad declared them «decent». I’ll keep looking for great pizza closer to home, but I certainly wouldn’t mind eating here again.

Got a slice of cheese and slice of pepperoni at lunch. Slices were kinda small and dry. Not enough sauce or cheese. Would be happy to pay $ 1 – 1.50 for these slices in the street drunk at night, but unacceptable at almost 3 for the pepperoni. Other customers’ whole pies looked a little better. Bella Mia is right across the street w the best pizza in town. Go there, spend a few more bucks, worth it.

How is this the best pizza for 10 years? I have tasted NY pizza, especially since I visited NYC almost every summer growing up and I’ve experienced NYC pizza from many locations. This taste like frozen bread with cheese. We needed the ranch dressing to give the BBQ chicken and buffalo chicken pizza taste. Waste of $ 30. Good thing we don’t live here.
10÷11÷14 received a nice message from the owner asking me stop by again and the next meal would be on him, the fact he cares shows maybe I had a bad experience but they take pride in their customers and satisfaction of their food. That’s great customer service. We will stop by if traveling in the area. Thank you

NY Pizza in Cary has been making true NY style quality pizza consistently since I’ve been going there 10+ years.
I have never been disappointed, the pizza is always delicious.
We are not talking «Gourmet, Brick Oven Pizza» that costs a fortune.
They deliver Reliable Neapolitan, thin crust pies.
Any combination of toppings are made with fresh ingredients.
I especially love their thick crust Sicilian Pie
The Staff is always friendly and courteous.
It has been our local go to spot for pizza since moving to NC.

NY Pizza is consistently reliable. Great pizza, thinner crust than Mellow Mushroom or Avante. Very responsibly priced, good fresh ingredients, timely delivery and constantly friendly service! Keep up the good work!

Gave them a few chances and then a few more in return all i got a about 7 over cooked or burnt pizzas on every occasion. Slices are also very small. Almost everytime we ordered the box was soaked in grease. Some of the worst pizza around.

NY Pizza is one of my favorite places to eat in the area. I’ve had their regular pizza, stuffed crust pizza, calzones, garlic knots and chicken wings. And all of them have been tasty and I highly recommend them.
Now be warned that despite the name, they don’t really make genuine NY style pizza. (Shocking, I know). Real NY pizza should have a thin, almost crackery crust. A thin layer of cheese and sauce. Greasy, but not too greasy.
The pizza here is more of the family style pizza you get when you go out to a restaurant. It’s got a thicker, softer crust. There’s definitely more oil and toppings so the pizza sags. Don’t get me wrong, these are good things and make the pizza tasty. But it’s not genuine NY style pizza.
I don’t quite get the difference between their stuffed crust pizzas and their calzones, as they look and taste the same. I was hoping their stuffed crust pizza would be more like awesome Chicago Style pizza from Giordano’s in Chicago, or Zachary’s in SF. Or heck even Pizzeria Uno. But no, they’re basically bigger calzones. So for you Chicago style/​stuffed crust pizza lovers like me, NY Pizza will NOT work for you.
But they still make really tasty, non-​genuine NY-​style pizza. They don’t ever seem to be crowded (unfortunately), but that means you rarely wait long. And their staff is very friendly.

Huge pie. 18 inches with big slices. Good crust. Nice and thin with good taste. In fact, everything about the pizza was thin. The sauce was thin and virtually tasteless. The toppings, especially the veggies, were cut in slivers. The meat was good, but Italian sausage should not be cut like pepperoni. Skimpy on the cheese.
If I’m in the area and want a quick slice for lunch, I’ll stop in. Otherwise, skip it.

I guess this is good NY Pizza for the Raleigh/​Cary Area. If I lived here I would be a frequent visitor. Great service, friendly employees, clean establishment!
