Nothing about this place is not to love. Really good food at reasonable prices, great atmosphere with plenty of comfortable seats inside and out, and the staff genuinely treat you like close friends or family. Most Tex-Mex places serve bland unseasoned chips but here you get chips with salt and pepper goodness. The queso is also different and more like you would make at home. The sauce bar though is the best part of it all. 16 hot sauces ranging from sweet chili to «death wish» and all have plenty of flavor. Oh, and kids eat free on Sunday!

Name of this place reminds of my visit to Tijuana, a serene place in north western Mexico(Baja California Norte), just 10 miles south of San Diego. I ordered norito bowl(without burrito, so norito). They use more spices, as compared to Chipotle, not to add hotness but to provide flavor. For the hot quotient, they have«spicy hot sauces» separately stationed and you are welcome to carry over the samples.

Our friends have been talking Tijuana Flats up for a while now and I really haven’t thought too much of it… but today we finally went out with them to this location. Everything about this place did it for me from the second I walked in… actually before we even left the house. Called to see if they wouldn’t mind putting on the Cavs-Raptors game so I didn’t have to miss the first half. They said they would be happy to. Bonus points. This place is colorful and eye catching and I loved every bit of the theme and décor. I was surprised to learn it was an order at the counter joint but my unease was quickly put to rest when I looked across the room and saw the incredible hot sauce buffet. All of them were Tijuana Flats recipes and they bottle and sell all of them. Girls at the register are friendly, patient and very helpful for first timers. I ordered the Bangin Chicken Burrito on a wheat tortilla. I was blown away. The tortilla was so perfect, just crisped on the outside and soft on the inside, amazing for a wheat option… and finally, no rice in the burrito! I like Chipotle so I’m not hating, but this burrito put chipotle to shame. 2 people with entrees and an app for $ 20 and we couldn’t finish our chips despite me not wanting to stop eating the hot sauces. I’ll be back often. They run special deals on Tuesdays and Thursdays that are incredible for the money.

Ate at O’ Kelly Chapel location tonight and was very satisfied. Taco Tuesday continues to be a phenomenal promotion providing great value for $ 5.49. Staff was very pleasant with smiling faces ever present. Steve and Alli standout as Superstars providing top notch service. Refills for drinks, chips, queso, and salsa were readily available. Very enjoyable dining experience.

So we live within walking distance of this Tijuana Flats and have eaten here a few times. I have to say there’s things I really love about this place and things that make me wish it was just Moes Southwest Grill. The staff and atmosphere are amazing, very welcoming and customer focused, which makes it a great place to go for dinner and sit out on the patio under the party string lights. Employees will go out of their way to make sure your food looks good and you have a full drink at all times, keeping in mind this is not a tip based restaurant so they are just top notch employees. The hot sauce bar is very cool, but I find half the sauces either so spicy they ruin the flavor of everything else on your food or they taste the same as a dozen other one’s on the line. Maybe make this a hot sauce and salsa bar(Moe’s wins out in this category). The chips are salty and have pepper on them, which I love, but others may not like that much salt. Salsa, queso, and guac is fairly priced and tastes good. Now for the biggest reason why I give this place 4 stars… the food is just OK. I’ve tried tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and taco salads here and they all leave me wanting more flavor and food afterward because I’m still hungry! Keep in mind a «meal» here costs $ 8-$ 12 so kind of on the high side for a quick food option where I leave hungry. In fact I just did the $ 5.49 taco Tuesday deal today(Two chicken/beef tacos, chips, and drink) and had to get a chicken caesar salad back at work by 2pm because I was starving. We’re not the only one’s who think the food is meh as whenever we have friends come to visit us and I suggest we walk over to Tijuana they say lets go to the new Chuy’s nearby or drive the 10 minutes to SouthPointe for Moes. I wish I could like this place more and maybe the flavor will get better, but for now Moe’s it is. Also Chipotle’s has gone downhill in quality and quantity, while the price continues to rise, just throwing that out on the table. No thanks.

Came here for farewell lunch for one of my coworkers. It was my first time at at Tijuana Flats so not sure what to expect. I’ve been to Chipotle, Qdoba, and Moe’s in the past so I guess I’ll see how it compares to those. There was plenty of seating inside and they have a nice outdoor seating as well. The outdoor seating seems to be shared with Taziki’s next door. We had pretty good weather that day so we decided to sit outside under the umbrellas. I ordered the veggie and bean burrito. It comes with some chips and a choice of queso or salsa. My first thought was that their salsa had a sweet taste to it. I wasn’t expecting that at all. I did like how the chips were seasoned very well. A lot of Tex-Mex places just serve bland chips but these had special seasoning on them that gave them extra flavor. The vegetarian burrito was OK. The flour tortilla that they used wasn’t as soft as I would have liked. It had a dry consistency like paper. They could have seasoned the contents of that burrito more as it really lacked flavor. Service was good and the employees were friendly.

I recently found out about this place and its my new favorite Mexican restaurant. The queso is absolutely the best around and not too spicy for those of us who don’t like hot items. The staff is always nice and very accommodating.

I have been meaning to update this for a while. These guys will do anything to make you happy. Generally very proactive, and really want you to enjoy yourself. The food I had when I was there after it first opened can only be explained by opening jitters. I go once a week now, and have only had one sub par taco, which was immediately fixed when I mentioned it to manager. They offered us a ceiling tile to paint, last night, so that is our next project. Thanks.

My favorite dinner and lunch spot. Mason is the manager and he has a great team. They create an awesome environment as they remember your names and orders. Love the food and the specials. Their prices are amazing for Tex Mex food. Try them out. They are worth the drive! Perfect 5 stars as the food is amazing, the employees provide grade A customer service and the facility is always Spik and span!

This is by far my most favorite taco place around town. Really in the US so far! I travel so much and eat at a lot of places. They have the best queso! You should become a regular. They have great deals! Tuesday is $ 5.99 taco tueZday! Two large tacos — choose any meat, from grilled chicken, blackened chicken, beef, beans — and chips and it includes a drink! Such an awesome deal! This place is a TexMex type of place. On Thursday they have a. Burrito special. Huge burritos! It’s as wide as a large forearm. The staff is super nice every time. If you have any questions about the menu just ask. Oh and the banana empanadas for dessert with caramel! YUMERRRRSSSS awesome décor and plenty of seating inside and outside. This is a new spot so check it out!

Come here a couple times a month for some quick southwest food. It’s good and consistent. The specials are a good value, 2 for Tuesday tacos for $ 5.99. Will keep coming back. An elderly coupe came in for the first time and took a seat. The manager comes to them with menus and welcomed them and takes their order. Now that’s customer service!!!

They recently hosted a Unilocal event that I had to miss, but I had friends who went and loved so I thought this weekend we would check it out. There was a greeter at the door(her name was Alli) who gave us menus and explained how everything works. Basically, you order at the counter and they will bring your food(in courses if you ordered more than one). She also explained their hot sauce bar. We started with the dip trio, a sangria and a beer. The trio has guac, salsa, and queso. Yumm!!! I love some queso! The salsa was good and fresh too. My husband said the guac was good as well. Their chips were hot, but are seasoned with more than just salt. I want to say they had cumin sprinkled on them, but don’t quote me on that. They are good, but the extra spice could sometimes be a little overbearing. Next time I’ll order the chips sans seasoning. My sangria was good, but it was a red sangria and I would LOVE for them to add a white sangria on the menu as well. When our trio came out, Alli stopped by to check on us and offered to go pick out some of her favorite hot sauces from the hot sauce bar. She came back with some yummy treats. My favorites were the Georgia peach and a sweet chili sauce(that I cannot remember the same of). Alli really took good care of us. For my meal, I had two chicken tacos and some chips(which at this point our table was swimming in chips, which is NEVER a bad thing). My tacos were light and fresh. My husband got the chicken flauntas and said they were great. His dish also came with queso(bonus queso… AWESOME), guac, sour cream, and all the veggie toppings on the side. With a lot of Hispanic food places, you feel like they really nickel and dime you on sauces and sides, but Tijuana Flats does not. We ended the evening with the COOKIEDOUGHFLAUNTA. Y’all it is the best dessert I have had in a while and you will love it(if you love warm, gooey cookie dough). I had this Saturday night and I am still daydreaming about it three days later. At the end of our meal, Alli came back by and got us boxes, lids for the dips we did not finish, and packed up an extra queso for us. She really did a great job. What I really liked was that with the payment set up, you pay and tip before you have any interaction with anyone expect the cashier(previously working in the food industry I have found that tips are smaller and fewer when the payment method is set up this way). So Alli didn’t know how much we originally tipped or if we would leave a tip on the table, but she gave us fantastic service the entire time. I hope her manager reads this because she deserves to pat on the back. We got an app, two entrees, two drinks, and a dessert for about $ 30. A+ y’all. I am already thinking about when i can come back.

We ate here tonight and the service was incredible! Everyone was so nice and helpful. The food came out quick and was excellent! The kids chicken quesadillas were huge! My husband and I both had no-rittos, basically a burrito in a bowl and they were so flavorful! We will definitely be back here!

I’ve discovered there are two kinds of Unilocalers: people who recognize the awesomeness of Tijuana Flats and people who are horribly, abjectly wrong. This is one of the greatest quick service chains around. I used to love their Indianapolis store and feel like the experience is the same here. The staff is friendly and motivated to help, contrary to many counter service restaurants. They come around for refills, help with the menu, and are just very pleasant. It feels well managed. I like the tacos and really appreciate the fresh jalapeños. The portions are excellent for the price. They have a few beers on tap, but I usually get their sweet tea because it is delicious. They have some really great specials throughout the week and the hot sauce bar cannot be beat. The flavors rotate and if you dare to try the any sauces with the black and red smiley face, your tongue will melt off. We come here for dinner before grocery shopping next door. There is nice outside seating if the weather is good, but the décor inside is bright and fun and of course in close proximity to the hot sauce bar. So, in conclusion, if you have tried this and think Moe’s or Chipotle is better, it’s time to log off.

Came home from work early, it was Saturday, so we headed to «The Flats». Great lunch stop. Pretty good Tex Mex. the serving sizes are plenty large. Outdoor seating was nice. All the items were fresh and flavorful. Friendly staff. But, do not leave until… You must try the Hot Sauce bar!

The nachos are a 4 the rest of the food is a-ok. Not bad… not great to deserve four stars but if you are in the RTP I am not certain you will get a good mix of Mexican food anyway. Especially if you live out in this part of town. The tacos are huge & ok taste but if you smother it with the hot bar(which is not for kids) it is ok. I would say this is a perfect place for happy hour to sit outside, munch on a few appetizers & tacos on a perfect spring or summer night!

Pretty run of the mill. Rather disappointed. Looks real inviting from the outside. Will pass on next time. Ordered carnitas burrito. Served cold, filled mostly with lettuce and covered with some canned yellow gunk they call queso sauce. If I’d had ordered w/o lettuce, I’m not sure there would have been anything inside. No rice, no beans. Just a lot of lettuce, maybe a tomato and a scant amount of shredded pork all served on a styrofoam plate with cheap plastic knife and fork. If you are looking for a quick Mexican type meal, save your time and go to Moe’s or Chipotle instead. For the same price, you get so much better food. Staff is very friendly though. That and the hot sauce bar earned them an extra star. Maybe they haven’t ever tried their own food? Because if they had, I’m not sure they’d be that cheery.

This place is super yummy and the staff is super friendly. My favorite are the flautas! But if you like tacos, definitely try the pink one during the month of October in support of breast cancer awareness and research. The waitstaff was super attentive and paid every attention to detail. The girl servers wear pink tutus during the month of October which I think is adorable! I’m loving this place and will definitely be back!

A notch above the usual Americanized Mexican spot, Tijuana Flats emphasizes fresh ingredients, house-made sauces, friendly, welcoming staff, and fun twists on basic Mexican-American comfort food dishes. The hot sauce bar is definitely saucy, with custom blends like«Smack My Ass And Call Me Sally» and«Don’t Be A Chicken Sh! t» that are both funny and quite tasty. Ask nicely and they’ll even bring out a few more that really crank up the heat, if you’re sure you want them. A deft touch with the deep fryer makes the flautas crisp, light and flaky, whether they enclose gooey cheese and fresh jalapenos in the Atom Bomb appetizer or(O delicious abomination!) chocolate chip cookie dough in their dessert flautas. House made queso is a tasty accompaniment to generously rolled burritos, tacos or fresh tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa. This restaurant group originally got started in Winter Park, Florida in 1995, and has been popular enough to make its way across the Southeast with new openings here in North Carolina including Raleigh, Durham and Holly Springs in addition to two in Cary. Service is fast and friendly and the food is fresh, hot and tasty; what’s not to like? Definitely a recommended lunch or quick dinner spot if you’re in the mood to indulge with their generous portions of Mexican-American comfort food.
