Love the turkey sandwich with house fries. My husband always gets the combo sandwich. They have a wood burning fireplace made out of stone and it really gives the place a warm cozy atmosphere on cold winter days. Check out the really cool artwork painted on the ceiling tiles and don’t forget to go home with a jar of their famous horseradish!

We stopped here after exploring waterfalls and Gorge area on our trip from California. It’s actually a good place to eat after long hikes:) We had Gods pizza, sandwiches, kids meals(pizza and chicken nuggets) and beer. Everything is tasty! Staff is very friendly also. The only downside are flies. But I guess they come with a nature,

Great lunch with the family if you’re in the mood for pizza & burgers. They have a kids menu for 12& under. My 4&6 yr olds loved there pizza & so did my hubby. I enjoyed my burger & we didn’t have to wait long for our food with friendly service!

Great beer and great service! Didn’t try the food but it looked and smelled tasty. The bartender was hilarious and knew her beers. Samples were offered, and taken. Back patio and yard area were sweet! Hit them up. Good folks.

Wow this was appalling. Went here with my family after doing some hiking in the gorge, ended up going here because the reviews were really good. their menu says that they have ‘famous pizza’ thinking«oh this must be worth intentionally making myself sick» This was not worth it at all, I am lactose intolerant to an extent. Craving pizza and seeing something that was ‘famous’ seemed worth it, I could not be more disappointed. The sauce tasted like canned sauce, that was past it’s use. The cheese was burnt on top but the crust was not even close to being burnt. This tells me the oven was way too hot, the pepperoni was not juicy and was lackluster in number. Really disappointed with this ‘famous pizza’. Also on top of the bad pizza my mother ordered nachos and they were burnt! HOWDOYOUBURNNACHOS? The cheese on the bottom was also not even melted, it looked like it was frozen then thrown in the oven. The burgers my father and brother ordered were passable but the fries were awful and some were not cooked all the way. This was really disappointing! Our service was really slow too, there was one check back before our meals came. As a former server checking back once in a hour and half service is really unacceptable for having 4 tables? Seriously 16 people in the place and you cannot be bothered to check back or say«your food will be with you shortly», You are told when training to check back and if food takes a while to say it’s on it’s way or will be with you momentarily. If I lived in the area I would never step foot back here. And to add to the bad service and food, the table next to us was talking about a pretty inappropriate topic pretty loudly, what makes your food taste so much better is hearing about someone’s testicles. Yummy let’s go puke in the bathroom.

I stopped by here after hiking in the Gorge, and quickly realized I was not the only one with that idea. The service was EXCELLENT and the waitress was attentive, personable, and knowledgeable about the menu. I got the Jamaican Bacon pizza which disappeared at an alarming rate(it was that good!) They had a nice selection of local brews and the waitress made good recommendations. My only complaint is that the beer sign was out of the way and posted over another table, so we had a slightly uncomfortable moment of staring over their heads as we made our selection. That said, I think the waitress could have told us everything they had if we truly didn’t want to read the sign. Great beer, great food, great service. This place is a new favorite!

We stopped in hoping to find some local fare and found it was simply a bar & grill. We opted to get a cup of salmon chowder and the artichoke crostini. It took a half hour, and I had to ask for it, my daughter’s chowder. She said it was just ok. I never got my crostini. After 40 minutes. The server was friendly and apologized but we wouldn’t recommend this place.

Nice view on the river. Great tasting bear and great service. Didn’t get no food but took a look at the menu and everything was reasonably priced. Nice outdoor seating are would be great for sunny days.

Yes, the service was a little slow. But the staff is very friendly and the food was very good. Chef salad and a Reuben. If you like horseradish try the free sample. Beer sign is in a strange place that’s hard to see so I asked for a dark, local brew and it was delicious! $ 4 for the pint; that’s awesome!

The pizza was good. The service was fast and friendly. The place itself had a cool theme. I’d definitely return if I was in the area again.

Delicious but so slow. Plan half a day if you want to come here. Also no straws. Also weird wall art… very bizarre.

We stayed at the local KOA and wanted a quick dinner. The Ale House was are only option. We ordered take out. They were prompt when we arrived to pick up our pizza and side salad. The rating on the pizza would be a 2 if it was on a scale of 1 to 5. If they improved the quality of the pizza even the locals would WANTTOCOMEHERE! The place is cute and the people are very nice. The small Columbian Pizza was $ 17. For what you get it should have been $ 7. Not much stuff and it is very bland. Sorry guys! But quality is so important. Get some lessons from from Granzellas in Williams, CA. They have an awesome Pizza(combo type) for $ 13.
Hope next time we come through we can try you again.

This is an old building that is funky and musty smelling.* Perhaps this is due to the age of the building and the location by the Columbia River. I ordered the philly cheesesteak sandwich with french fries. the steak was chopped and greasy. The toasted bun was good. The fries had too much salt. The service was adequate. The best restaurants are across the river in Stevenson. * I first went to Cascade Inn. The place looks old but okay and the menu was on the pricey side. The place smelled musty so I left.

The only reason I’m reviewing this place is because it was weird… just plain weird I tell ya! We could see the«OPEN» sign on the door, we could see the neon«OPEN» sign in the window, we could see a guy sitting in the window with the neon«OPEN» sign in it, we could even see the lights on… but apparently they were just kidding because they were really CLOSED. If the lights are on, the OPEN shingle hung out and a guy is peering at you from within, you really should be OPEN… its not nice to fool hungry *potential* guests’ Just sayin’

Location, Location, Location! I always felt that Cascade Locks was severely missing better food options, and Cascade Locks Ale House filled it. Lots of great crap on the walls, you can spend some time looking at all the old photos and maps of the area. The waitress was very sweet and fast, even though she was the only one working during the dinner rush. We were just interested in coffee and Sodas, so I can’t say anything about the food, except that the pizza looked and smelled delicious! Next time we drive through we will stop for lunch.

There aren’t too many options around here so I was glad to come across this place when I was needing some lunch. It didn’t come up in our Unilocal search though. I think the street name is incorrectly entered, so Unilocal doesn’t place it on the map. The ambience was pub-cozy with a wood fire burning and rustic décor. We ordered salmon chowder and a side salad to start. The chowder was tasty, nicely seasoned. The salad was simple and good, with fresh greens(no iceberg). I had the house vinaigrette, which was good. We had a pub burger, which was disappointing. Seemed to be made with a dry, overlooked, thin, premade frozen patty. Bun was a boring sesame bun like you get from a grocery. The fixings were fine, and they make their own horseradish and sell it by the jar, which looked good, although I didn’t try it. When a pizza came out for a nearby table, we realized that is probably what we should have ordered. It was a thick-crust style with lots of cheese and toppings, and smallest great. They also have a host of other sandwiches that appeared to have potential. Beer battered fries were good. They were soft, but not in a bad way. I liked the taste and texture. Despite the burger, I’m giving this place a good rating overall because I suspect the burgers are a weak point, and I enjoyed everything else. They have a decent list of beers on tap.

Cute little rustic Ale house. I had the Thai chicken pub sandwich with seasoned fries. Not bad. Sandwich was warm, nicely spiced and tasted good. The fries probably would of tasted better if they weren’t on the cold side. Live and learn.
