Delicious authentic tacos right off the 405!!! The staff was friendly and served us salsa and freshly made steaming chips to start. We were starving and devoured the whole bowl instantaneously :) Highly recommend ordering asada, shredded beef and fish tacos!!! All of these were super yummy:)

So to understand what makes a great Mexican restaurant you have to know the basic Mexican recipes. For instance, a chili relleno is made with a grilled pueblo pepper, NOT a boiled jalapeño pepper… And the flautas have caldo de pollo or chicken stew inside? WTF?! That was DISGUSTING! I havent EVER had a flauta made that way before… I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt and ate the chili relleno, rice and beans anyways but no later than 15min after my husband and I finished our meals, we got really sick! I dont know how this place has so many stars but the previous guests either dont realize what authentic Mexican food tastes like or they think this is how its supposed to taste. NOT!!! NOBUENO! Stay away from this place and go to a taco truck! Youll get way better food than this hole in the wall… P. S I’m throwing up as I’m writing this…

Arrived for breakfast ordered menudo and chilaquiles. Server was very attentive to refills, more chips and salsa and extra napkins. Menudo was flavorful with small/enjoyable pieces of meat. Chilaquiles were perfect. Not spicy and not weak! Definitely returning

Our family was on our way to San Diego and were looking for a Mexican Restaurant. We looked this place up on Unilocal and it lived up to its 4 Stars. The place is not updated but the food and service was GREAT! The chips were brought to our table still warm and the salsa was very good. I ordered a Shrimp Toskala Salad very good.

My family and I stopped at this restaurant after of long day of travel. We chose this restaurant based on all the reviews and I can say they are accurate. The food was hot and delicious. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to be added to your stop going to or from LA.

I was so excited to try this place after reading all the great reviews and seeing a Facebook post with a picture of the huge shrimp cocktail. So I came with a friend for lunch on Friday. The first impression was not good. The one and only waitress ignored us as we were picking a table to sit down at. She saw us but didn’t say a word. It took about 5 mins before she gave us a menu. The small dining room was quickly filling up and it became obvious that the waitress was getting overwhelmed. She had to take orders and bring food and drinks to all the tables both inside and outside. We ordered a shrimp cocktail, albondigas soup, a trio of soft tacos and a hanger steak combo. Out of all these dishes, the best tasting were the albondigas soup and shrimp cocktail. The shredded beef and chicken soft tacos were okay but the carne asada was very dry and tasteless. I didn’t even want to finish eating the carne asada. I was so disappointed since the Unilocal reviews had raved about the carne asada. We did not get any service after the waitress brought us the food since she was handling the entire restaurant. I felt bad for her. She was doing the best she could. I don’t understand why they only have one waitress working on a busy Friday lunch time. I doubt I will be back, maybe during a slow time. Too bad… I had such high expectations.

Great food. Best Mexican food for 50 miles. Picked this place on a whim when hungry on our road trip. Highly recommend it over the Denny’s next door.

Phenomenal family owned Mexican food joint I stumbled upon when I was in the area for a business trip. The daughter of the father who owned the place was a perfect host. I ordered the combo fajitas and my coworker ordered 3 carnitas tacos. Meat was perfectly seasoned and the side of rice and beans were BOMB!!! I will be back if I’m ever in the area.

My husband and I moved to castaic in June and discovered this place randomly one night when we were starving and too tired to cook. This place is a little hole in the wall family owned restaurant and it is DELICIOUS. Everything we’ve ordered has been fantastic. The only thing I can’t get down with is the filled churros. I just don’t like the filling. Also the service is great. They are very friendly and prompt with our orders. Oh and they are very reasonably priced. I just can’t say enough good things about this place. It’s a must try if you want great Mexican food without having to dress up at all.

Pretty good, authentic Mexican home cookin’ in the pass. There’s not a lot between the eateries at Tejon Ranch and Magic Mountain. This is a local diner, nothin’ fancy, with friendly service and solid food. We parked on the street, right in front of the restaurant, so we could keep an eye on our loaded car and dog. We ordered 4 soft tacos: carne asada, carnitas, shredded chicken, and shredded beef. However, they gave us 2 shredded chickens and no shredded beef. DH mentioned this to the lady running the place… she asked if there was a problem. DH didn’t press the matter. I was under the impression if he did, the. she would have swapped it out. He was stuck in sort of a gray area since he started eating already. The tacos were tasty and fresh. The carne asada did have some gristle, like another reviewer mentioned. I probably wouldn’t order this one again. We don’t remember which one was the best. DH said, «It wasn’t that memorable of a meal.» Beans were okay, cheese was just shredded cheddar, rice was okay. The chips were amazing, though. Thin, crispy, super fresh and hot. Against my better judgment, I stuffed myself. The salsa was delicious, but a tad spicy for us spicy wimps. ;) The restrooms are outside on the back of the building. It was old, but relatively clean, but there was excess mystery liquid on the floor. The optimist in me says it was just mopped. Overall, nice local spot for affordable Mexican home cookin’ when you’re doing the drive. Not worth going really far out of the way, but it’s a good change from the usual fast food.

We had dinner near by with my mother in law home. And this place is just a small place with few seats and booth. It’s just like a mom and pops diner. When we arrived, it was still empty, only one other customer. But this place got so packed around dinner time. Luckily we got there early, because by the time we were half done, it was packed plus a waiting list. Before our food came, they served us with some chips and salsa. Wow this chips was so nice and still warm, it’s like homemade and fresh. The salsa was good. I ordered the carnitas. I can say this was the best carnitas I’ve ever had! The rice was very tasty too, the refried beans was very good. My husband ordered Cactus with pork meat cooked with red salsa sauce. It was excellent. My mother in law ordered beef Flautas. It was crispy and meaty & very yummy. Service was pretty nice, friendly. Price wasn’t that bad at all for the quality of the food. It was pretty surprising that such a little place would have some of the best Mexican food we have ever had. Next time maybe we’ll be back when we are in town.

So this is the third Mexican restaurant I’ve tried since moving to Castaic 3 weeks ago. I have to say it is by far the best. Authentic taste, excellent service, and friendly staff. I was welcomed with some warm chips and tasty salsa. I placed my order for a wet burrito and a side of rice. I didn’t have to wait to long for my food to arrive and wow, the taste was amazing. Tastes like my grandma’s cooking which is a great thing! I will definitely be back to eat soon(the waitress asked that I come back at least weekly lol). The only con(and it won’t stop me from coming again) is the dining room is a little small. I left at what looked like the beginning of the dinner rush and there were only two tables available. I can only imagine how packed it must get when dinner is in full swing. No worries though, they do take out!

Small, inconspicuous but a great find. It seems to be a family owned restaurant. It was very clean and the food tasted great. The service was very quick. Server was polite and all smiles. I had the chile Relleno, which is a tricky dish. It was prepared very well. Over all, good experience.

Incredible food, reasonable prices and amazing service… A recipe for a 5* rating. Seriously if you want authentic flavored of traditional Mexican favorites CL is your spot! Most amazing is the chillaquiles with green sauce, over easy eggs and ask for some crispy carnitas on the top!!! Tangy crispy chewy goodness with some of the best carnitas you’ll find anywhere !!! Any shrimp dish is incredible… I like the fajitas @$ 13.99 they are a steal! Sweet, plump and firm with a medley of caramelized pepper, onions and tomatoes that would cost you $ 25+ anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed !!! Salsa or «chile» as authenticos call it is cilantro heavy with just the right kick! Best of all is the fastest friendliest waitress you’ll find anywhere! She’s awesome helpful and eager to make everything perfect!

I give this place 3 stars but would LOVE to give it 5! Upon walking into this place I was super excited knowing I was going to get some authentic Mexican food. The smell of the food was insanely good! I ordered a carne asada burrito and one crunchy chicken taco. The taco was perfect! In fact, I wish I ordered one more and nixed the burrito. After eating that amazingly good taco I was ready to tear into my burrito. Bite after bite I was spitting out fatty pieces of carne asada– no joke, every bite there were pieces of white gristle. That is my biggest pet peeve! It was inedible. I finally opened up the burrito and it was covered in nothing but fatty pieces of carne. I was so disappointed and hungry :(

Friendly staff, huge portions, and very inexpensive(two meals, a beer, and chips and guacamole for around $ 25 — can’t beat that!). There are a few booths and tables for dining in, but a lot of their business probably comes from to go orders. I had the chicken picado since I always get the chicken fajitas and wanted to try something new. Like fajitas, it came with tortillas, but only two. While I enjoyed it, I think I would have preferred the chicken fajitas, but that’s just a personal preference. It was nice to try something new, and it tasted very authentic. My bf had the special, which came with chile relleno, an enchilada, and a hard shell taco. Definitely not healthy — it actually took a minute to located the enchilada under a pile of cheese(not saying that’s a bad thing, just saying). We’d never had chile relleno before and it was interesting, but not really for us. But again, nice to try something new, and it also seemed very authentic. If in the area, I’d definitely come back and try some other things.
