If I had written this review within the first month of opening, it would be at least a 4-star. Food was fresh, service was great, and portions were consistent. I don’t know what had happened between then and now, but our last visit will definitely be our LAST visit. Like other reviewers, we gave them several 2nd chances, thinking they were just having an off night, or perhaps short-handed. But the quality of food has continued to decline,(high school cafeteria at best) the service staff is indifferent, and the facility in general is not clean. Sorry to give a bad report, but your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Pretty good food. Quick service. Not a whole lot of seating. However this place needs a good cleaning. The floors are slick in areas and sticky in areas. The drink area is dirty and the ice cream area is sticky with melted ice cream. They should probably move the trash receptacle away from the drink area as well.

Food tastes fine but the service? Not good. I ordered the family meal online to save time. Went to pick it up and the 2 teenage boys had no clue what was to be included with the meal. They twice told me my to-go bag was ready and I twice told them that they had left stuff out. Finally got the food home to find out that they didn’t include BBQ sauce and gave us ranch dressing for our Caesar Salad side. Ugh. For a $ 40 family pack, one would expect better service.

My wife and I visited the Castle Rock Dickey’s at 323 Metzler Dr, Castle Rock Co at 11:10AM on 3−14−16. We both had the Beef Cheese Baker potato. This was the worst meal I have eaten in months. The beef and the potato were ice cold and the restaurant was filthy. The two young girls behind the counter were laughing and talking among themselves and never made any attempt to clean the place up. At the time, were the only one’s in the restaurant. It had just opened. Hours later, I still have a bad taste in my mouth. My wife took some photos of food and dirt all over the floor and on the counters were the pop machine and eating utensils were stored. After we left, we got on the Dickey’s website and looked at the menu. The servers had left half the stuff off of our potato. I won’t be going back or recommending the place.

I love Dickey’s but this one is disappointing and gross. The pulled pork was really fatty and didn’t taste fresh like it does at other locations. And the guy who prepared our food didn’t remove his gloves to swipe our credit cards, so he got our cards all greasy AND transfered any germs on those cards back to the food he was working on. Ew.

I think was mainly our fault because we showed up 20 mins before close. They were real nice because we tried to leave and they welcomed us in and said they were still open. The problem was that the entire meal was cold. The meat, bread, beans, potato casserole were all cold. Probably won’t go to this one again, I’ve had good experiences in the springs.

I mean seriously, how hard is it to make a sandwich correctly? The last 3 times I have been to this Dickeys they have left the standard toppings off of my sandwich. I get home, open the bag, and there it is… two pieces of bread with some meat slapped on it. Get it together Dickey’s!

This place is a poor excuse for BBQ. The times I’ve tried to give them a 2nd or 3rd chance the food is poorly prepared. Dry over cooked sides, mostly fat in the ‘brisket’, slow service, and lack of pride in the way the overall establishment is ran. Just because they are one of the only BBQ joints in CR doesn’t mean the quality of food should suffer.

We have eaten here 5 or 6 times. Each time we were hoping it would get better. While the wait times have gotten better and they seem to have some trained staff the food is subpar. Dry BBQ and all the sides are always cold and tasteless. Their free«ice cream» is ice water with a few drops of milk and sugar thrown in. I feel sorry for the staff here they’re always sweaty and harassed looking. We’ve been in a couple of times when the equipment wasn’t working. I’ve been in other Dickies and the set up seems to be better as well as the food. I’d have to say that this is probably a result of the owner manager. No more chances.

My wife picked us up some their supposed BBQ today and I have never had worse. The brisket was so over cooked and dry. The sauce was just okay but couldn’t help that almost jerky like brisket. She also brought home sausage that must be seasoned with MSG as I have felt horrible ever since eating it. We will never make the mistake again and just make the drive to Rudy’s in Manitou Springs.

This place really satisfies the frequent BBQ cravings! The atmosphere is fun and we’ve always been treated like a valued customer. To top it all off there is free ice cream after your meal… enough said! We will be back!

Have kept giving this place another try and another try hoping that the food would get better. After eating the food 5 – 6 times, I finally realized today that it’s not going to get any better. The Brisket and Pulled Pork were very very dry today. The last time we had the ribs and they reminded us of jerky — yep — that dry. And apparently I’m not alone in disliking the food. Look at all the other reviews.

As far as BBQ goes they have that down pat! The sides need some work. I like lots of flavor in my mac n cheese and other sides and these seemed a bit bland. But the BBQ pork is spot on!

It isn’t great but it isn’t bad either. There fore, it is not a choice of mine when we go out. Portions are small, and I’m not a fan of their side dishes. My dad loves this place, but he’s pretty easily satisfied when it comes to bbq. There are much better places to eat in CR.

Now that they’re getting into the swing of things, service is much more smooth and the food is still delicious! Of the many times I’ve been here, I have never ran into an issue with them running out of food. The staff always say hello and are very helpful. If they’re finishing up another order, they are quick to let you know that they’ll be right with you. So far, I’ve had the chicken, turkey, jalapeño cheddar sausage, ribs, pulled pork and brisket. They’ve all been delicious. Great place for kids too — my daughter loves their turkey, mac ‘n cheese, green beans, baked beans… and of course… the ice cream! I will continue to come here. Great food & great service!

I always enjoy eating BBQ at Dickeys. I saw the other reviews about them running out of food items, but have never had this experience myself. I have visited this particular Dickeys four times at different times and they have always had what I was in the mood for, well Turkey and Spicy Sausage. Yeah, I order the same damn thing each time, I know what I like. I always add the macaroni and cheese and green beans with bacon. I have always been greeted as soon as I walk through the door and have received my food quickly. The eating area has plenty of elbow room, two TVs, and is clean. This location is smaller than others, so pick and choose your arrival time carefully. Their food is not cheap, but I have eaten worse BBQ and paid more for it. I will return again and again — keep serving chunks of meat! Oh, they have soft serve as well.

Dickey’s is pretty darn good! I enjoy walking in and being greeted by the staff. The food was great and the free ice cream… Mmmm…Mmmm…delicious! Yes, there’s a lack of seating indoors, and outdoors. The crazy weather here in CO makes it hard to want to sit outdoors, so it’d be nice to just extend it out. To me, customer service is the biggest thing, and these guys & gals are really impressive! Semper Fi!

Been here twice. Ran out of mac and cheese both times. The first time was opening weekend and they had also run out of all the meat except for sausage. Extremely slow process, took 20 minutes to get our order of a two meat meal with four people in front of us. The food was delicious and the service was friendly but I don’t think we’ll be back.

My husband attempted twice to eat here. Yes you read that right. Both times we weren’t welcomed by any staff members. They were not busy, had 2 customers ahead of me. And we’d wait a good 10 minutes. Both times Wed walk out hungry. I’ll go to Parker and have ribs at the Hickory House.
