Évaluation du lieu : 1 Manhattan, NY
Dr. Brown was referred to me. I spoke with him on the phone and made an appointment. His office is in a residential building, not mentioned to me and a bit off-putting when trying to find it, and, when walking in it seems creepy to me to be in someones«house». Anyway, prior to the appointment he sent me a huge stack of paperwork to fill out. The questions were standard health history, but, much of the forms were psychologically/mental health based. I explained my issue — so I was coming in with a diagnosis. I was looking for alternative therapies. Before Brown evaluated the paperwork, he was already telling me to do other testing(some in the office) for additional costs. And, scrutinizing every medication and supplement I was taking and offering his vendors pills in place of those I was already taking. I spent 2 hours reviewing the paperwork with him, that I spent almost 2 hours filling out in the first place and emailed him. Which, when I arrived at the office, he said he didn’t receive the paperwork via email. Luckily I brought a copy. I mean what would we do if I hadn’t had a copy? I was charged $ 150. 2 hours wasn’t enough. Brown asked me to come back for another appointment and to go over the rest of the paperwork. He took copies of my extensive blood work results for a «review & analysis». For my second appointment it was 1.5 hours and he still hadn’t reviewed the previous blood work results I gave him. This time he ordered additional tests that, when I read the parameters, couldn’t take anyway because my issue was a negative factor in the testing. Oh and that test was $ 200. I was charged another $ 150 for this appointment and left with an $ 11 bottle of sugar pills coated in an herb that I could have gotten at Vitamin Cottage had I gone to the herbalist there and explained my issue. Additional medical results from a visit with a traditional doctor became available, and, i sent those too to Brown. I requested him for an analysis on all the medical findings. Several weeks went by with no acknowledgment or response. I contact him with another request. He then asks me to email him all the reports again since he didn’t save them the first time! Jeez. What was he doing? $ 300 spent for nothing. I refuse to re-engage this guy and feel completely ripped off. My next resort is to file a complaint with DORA since he is licensed by the state of Colorado. Based on my experience, I cannot and do not recommend dr. Kurtis Brown.
