Good safe sushi. You won’t be wowed but will leave satisfied. The family liked the butterfly roll the best.

My 16 year old daughter and I tried this location on Friday 6÷10÷16. Upon arrival we found 5 other patrons waiting for their orders. Even though there were 3 people working behind the counter, not 1 of them greeted us upon arrival, and the 1 person working the cash register disappeared to do, whatever. After 5 of 6 minutes, a young man approached the cash register, and without saying a word stared right through my daughter like a ravenous predator. Faced with a very uncomfortable situation, my daughter looked at me shrugged and proceeded to place her order — even though not asked. Faced with a similar awkward moment, I placed my order with a person behind the register who refused to speak or make eye contact with me. Weirdest experience I have had in 45+ years of eating out. As I continued observing this young man, he dropped an order off at another patron’s table without saying a work… AWKWARD. After another 6 or 7 minutes, our order was ready. This time he spoke, but not to ME — the person who PAID for the meal. He looked right past me, again glaring through my daughter, and by now I had had enough of this freak. I stepped up to take our dinner, and he purposefully swerved out of his way to avoid giving it to me, apparently so he could get in close proximity to my girl. I grabbed the bag from his hand and reminded him who paid for the meal, all the while, never making eye contact with me. The manager seeing I was clearly upset asked me what was wrong, 3 different times. Completely taken back by the encounter, I was utterly speechless. It wouldn’t surprise me if this young man is on a sexual predator list somewhere. Sushi was ok. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

I’m going to have to give this place a hard 1 in the sushi department. It’s not fresh and seems as if you’re just buying it from a grocery store. Even the noodle bowls, it looks like something you microwave in the back really quick. I have heard that their specialty rolls are worth trying though. The staff has always been friendly so that’s why I gave 2 stars. Honestly, for castle rock mt fugi probably has the best sushi.

Excellent sushi at low prices! I love this place! I usually call in my orders for pick up on my way home from work and it’s always ready when I get there, no waiting, no hassle! The menu has a TON of choices for different sushi and the prices are absolutely reasonable. I’ve always had friendly service here, never had an issue with my orders!

I really liked this place and live close by and was excited about it. Great sushi, so I can’t complain about that, but they really pissed me off with their promotions/loyalty program, which is completely false and misleading. I receive a text which promises me, verbatim«We miss you here at SAWARA! You get 25% Off(only rolls) on your next visit. Reply YES to claim» So I make a special point to redeem this and have friends over for sushi, and place a $ 50 order planning to get around $ 12 off(25%). I get there to pick up/redeem and my $ 49 order gets discounted to $ 47. I ask where the 25% is, and they say it means you get 25% off«one roll» How on earth do you interpret the above to mean that? It’s complete false advertising. I show them the text and state that it doesn’t at all read like that and this is not right, and one of the chefs comes over and pretty much completely blows me off and goes back to his business, basically saying he couldn’t care less… I wouldn’t have even ordered this night without the promotion, nor would I have ordered this much, and they completely screw me over and don’t even care to make it right. It sounds silly, but this honestly ruined my night, and was especially disappointing because I liked this place a lot, and thought I had found a real gem right down the street from me, but I’m not going back any time soon.

Always fresh and made to order. The owners are proud to serve an excellent menu. They say hello to all who come in. They have special sushi rolls designed to tantalize your taste buds. Great menu at a reasonable price without all the fluff.

Not much better than grocery store sushi, but a healthier option over other fast food. Rice Krispies as their«crunch» seemed rather ghetto fabulous!

3.5 — Sushi was average. Good for Castle Rock. Rolls were mostly filled with shredded seafood/crab salad. I prefer whole pieces, but the one that had whole pieces(rainbow roll) was great. Baked green mussels were good as well. My favorite was the squid salad. Environment was nice and place was clean; it also had very comfy booths. We had two servers, and we never figured out why, but assumed they shared all the tables. The guy waiter was very polite and smiled and was extremely helpful when we were trying to make a decision on what rolls to order. Then a few minutes later a girl came up to take our order. She wasn’t the most friendly, but it was ok. She took our order, but forgot 1 of our dishes. So we had to wait for her to put that order in after our main entrees were already at the table. The guy and the girl were back and forth at our table and it made it very hard for service to be consistent. I guess that would be my biggest complaint– Service. When we were done eating we put all our plates at the end of our table, and our drinks were empty as well. We were never offered another beverage or dessert. It took 10 min for someone to notice and that was because I had to grab someone. We had the card sitting out ready to go. She came back and set the bill down and left?(Even though the card was right there.) So we had to wait again for her to come back. All and all service needs lots of work. Next time we’ll prob just sit at the sushi bar.

So I drive by this place every day and I’ve always been a bit standoffish towards it. I’m sorry I was for so long. It’s very good! The staff are super friendly and its the only place in town I know of that has the hibachi white sauce my husband loves. So I guess the moral of the story is not to judge a book by its cover… Or a restaurant by its window display. Now my hubby and I eat here once a week :)

Its fast-food sushi people… its normally quite with friendly staff, and you can play with the menu ingredients. If you want an authentic experience, then move out of a land locked state. If your down for a quick bite then ask the chef, they’ll work up something to your liking.

Staff were fantastic. It was the best sushi restaurant that I have ever had. You guys should come and try here. I had hello venus, long time no see, gangster and rainbow roll. They were so good.

I should have trusted my initial gut feeling walking up to this place. It looked like a fast food sushi restaurant and turns out that’s pretty much what it is. Place smelled slightly fishy upon walking in but still not enough to scare me away. I was craving sushi that bad. Initial thought was to order one or two things to try it before having more… Well we ordered a couple rolls(4) and was around $ 40. And turns out that was a poor investment… Soggy rice, bland soup and just below room temp fish. Needless to say did not finish the meal before going to cold stone ice cream for a treat.

What’s not to like. Sushi, friendly staff, clean, and asian pop music playing in the background. Have you ever seen the asian equivalent of Taylor Swift… Well you just might learn a thing or two here my friend. Listen, the food is fresh and well prepared. They are proud of their business — and they should be. We love it. «See you tomorrow»!

Awesome, awesome place. Even if you got sick off the food, it’d still be totally worth it. You can’t beat the prices and the employees are super friendly and willing to help you figure out what you want. My wife got the chicken teriyaki bowl and California roll(for $ 3.99!!!). The bowl was pretty good and the roll was awesome for the price. I got the lovely crab roll and dragon roll. At every sushi place I’ve been to, the dragon roll usually costs $ 14. This was $ 7.99! You can’t beat that. I’ve never had the lovely crab roll, but it’s fantastic. I love the dragon roll, but it pales in comparison to the lovely crab roll. The only downside were the weird crunch things on top, but I flicked those off and my problem was fixed. Definitely one of the best sushi places for the price I’ve ever had.

Fast sushi in Castle Rock! Affordable AND good! Love the Fire Blast Roll, super spicy! You can get hand rolls for $ 3.50 or order nigiri/sashimi for $ 1.50 a piece. They also have veggie only options, chicken rolls and sushi burritos! And happy meals with toys for the kiddos! Sawara is great for catering events too! Visit them in Castle Rock or their second location in DTC!

Ehhh… I’m going to be honest. We don’t come here anymore. It’s not exactly what sushi is. They don’t even have calamari?! Their tempura rolls are covered in what looks like Rice Krispies. Do urself a favor and spend more on quality sushi!

The food is always fresh and delicious. Picked up takeout tonight and the dragon roll, castle roll and omega roll were the bomb. All very fresh and flavorful(and under 8 bucks apiece!). They have an excellent Saki special when eating in for lunch too(though it may make it tough to want to go back to work). Highly recommended and will be back to sample other new flavors.
