Awesome place to go ! We just discovered this place by chance on last August or September and just forgot to write a review, but really worth it ! The service is really excellent, especially when provided by the kind and smily owner :) Great great food, sandwiches, salads, breads and desserts; I would have like to try them all !!! Everything is home made, it is soooo good ! Will go back for sure when passing by NY(coming from Montréal :)

I’ve eaten here a dozen times and the food is great. New homemade soups each day, real turkey on my sandwich with fresh bread. You can’t go wrong.

Just stopped here for some sandwiches on a road trip and they were FABULOUS! Fresh baked bread and fresh ingredients and friendly service. We’ll be back and try harder to leave room for ice cream dessert!

Love the lighthouse. I live pretty locally so I have ordered a few cakes there since they have been opened. I have gotten ice cream there and more recently the lighthouse has been my go to spot for breakfast sandwiches(served with coffee for only $ 3.99!) or when I am too lazy to cook I can grab a sandwich, salad or soup there. They stop serving dinner food at 6pm because it would be too much with the ice cream. If you want dinner after that you can call ahead and they will make your food ahead of time. All of the staff is super friendly and Phyllis herself is the sweetest and the most talented baker I know. Their Jewel bars are their best menu option and it is a must! Their prices are reasonable and you get ALOT of food for the price. I plan on getting a cake from their for 2 occasions in the fall and early winter.

While eating my ice cream I wondered why I can’t find a place like this near me. Friendly, with a home town feel.

My co-workers were nice enough to buy me a a hand made ice cream cake from here, and it was to die for, a browine base with a chocolate ice cream layer, a layer of hot fudge and cookie crumbles, with a top layer of vanilla ice cream, with a whipped cream frosting. This cake goes beyond giving Fudgie the Whale from that corporate place I shal not name a run for his money. Everyone was asking them where they got such an amazing ice cream cake.

I’ve been to The Lighthouse in Schodack several times since they opened last year. When I first think of Lighthouse, I think of a seafood restaurant, which is really not the case here. The Lighthouse serves up a good variety of Hershey’s Ice Cream(hard), soft serve ice cream(Upstate Farms), and Wow Cow lowfat frozen yogurt in cones, cups, waffle cones, sundaes, shakes, flurries, and banana splits. They also offer breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, hot dogs, homemade baked goods, coffee, and cold drinks from the coolers(Coke products/Snapple). Soup is served in the colder months. The prices here are pretty reasonable, kiddie cones($ 1.25 soft/$ 1.75 hard), $ 2 hot dogs with meat sauce, and a breakfast special for $ 3.99: 2 eggs, cheese, meat on Texas toast with coffee. The place is order at the counter and there’s inside table seating and picnic table seating outside. I enjoy stopping here for the steamed hot dogs with the meat sauce($ 2 with tax), sugar cookies, and a small ice cream cone for dessert. The owner is really friendly and on my last visit, her daughter was running the counter. PARKING: The parking in the front is tight and I’ve been to The Lighthouse in Schodack several times since they opened last year. PARKING: I recommend parking along the side of the building or in back since the parking in front is very tight and can be dicey, very close to Columbia Tpke.
