Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe

I have had the hardest time trying to BE a customer here. I was really excited to order my friend’s wedding cake from here because the pictures on their website confirmed the cake would look pretty, professional, and clean, but it’s been over a week of me calling and being rejected just to get a quote. I sent them pictures, flavors, colors and a sketch 8 days ago, and I’ve been readily available to talk, but no one ever got back to me when they said. On one of the days I called in to check on my quote, I was yelled at and told that they were too busy to give me one. Maybe they’re intimidated by the cake, but in any case, I got an email today with a quote for a standard wedding cake that serves 60 people tops, at $ 10 per person. That’s a lot for cake and I live in Los Angeles. I also MAKE wedding cakes for a living and only charge that much when there’s fondant and gum paste involved. A standard cake should come with a standard price, which for them, starts around $ 4.99 a serving, or that’s what they said when I initially called in. My last straw was when they told me that my cake is last minute. I gave them plenty of notice and THEY took forever to get back to me. Way to blame the customer.

Outstanding! This is a great place to get a wedding cake! The cake! Oh, the cake! My husband and I ordered vanilla/​chocolate wedding cake with buttercream frosting for our wedding in August 2015. The cake looked as amazing as it smelled and tasted. Our wedding reception was held at an upscale restaurant in Albany, NY but the cake was by far the most delicious item on our wedding menu! Our guests were raving about it, and I gave away leftover cake to our guests because they loved it so much!:)) The ingredients were fresh and the quality of the cake was simply superb! I highly recommend this bakery without any hesitation! Simply Yumm!

My husband and I chose Piece of Cake based on Unilocal reviews for our wedding cake bakery. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Our cake tasting was complimentary and we were given a variety of cupcakes and frosting samples to choose from, as well as French press coffee on the side! We ended up choosing the almond cake with whipped cream and caramel filling with buttercream frosting. Louise then took us through the cake design process while drawing our cake free hand! She is not only an excellent baker but also a talented artist. :) Our cake was stunning and we received many compliments on it from our wedding guests who told us it was the best cake they had ever had! For those considering choosing Piece of Cake for their wedding: you also receive a complimentary cake on your one year anniversary! In light of this, we chose to eat the top of our cake in the week following our wedding, rather than freeze it. It was delicious even days after our wedding. We cannot recommend Louise and Piece of Cake enough!

Wonderful cake! I ordered almond cake with caramel cream and buttercream frosting and it was fabulous.

This bakery is amazing! We tried several places before we settled on Piece of Cake for my daughters wedding cake. We all know that at weddings the presentation of the cake os more important than the taste. Well let me tell you. This cake was absolutely gorgeous and absolutely delicious!!! We received more compliments and inquiries about where the cake was from and how wonderful it was. Ever since we get ALL of our birthday cakes and special holiday desserts form Piece of Cake Bakery. Other members of my family and some friends have also followed suit. They have used or are using Piece of Cake for their children’s weddings and their special events. Louise you rock and England loss is our gain!

This is a superb and excellent cake and pie bakery. The quality is the highest and the flavors and ingredients are the best.
I have eaten almost every dessert they make and had a mocha almond flour butter cream cake made that I was embarrassed by how little she charged. In NYC it would have cost $ 100+ and her price was way below. Only one way for Louise to go; expand and raise prices commensurate to her quality and skill.
Start going here before it’s the biggest name in the Capitol region.
She will definitely expand to Albany and become a household name.

Every single flavor of cake she makes is amazing. Thank god my fiancé had the presence of mind to methodically choose flavors because I was just overwhelmed with deliciousness!!! We ended up leaving our wedding cake tasting appointment with several cupcakes, cream puffs, and eclairs and a beautifully designed cake. When I brought the goods home, my mother cried (!) at how good the cupcake was!
The wedding cake was no exception. It was so so so beautiful and tasted AMAZING. Even «non-​dessert» people loved it! The banquet staff at the venue even commented on how good the cake was.
11/​10, would recommend this to anyone and everyone on the planet.

My fiancé and I visited Louise this past Saturday for our wedding cake tasting. We gave her a few ideas of the type of cakes we thought we might like beforehand. When we arrived she had a beautiful assortment of DELICIOUS (made from scratch) cupcakes that showcased the different flavors of cake, fillings, and frosting available. She also served us fresh coffee to accompany the treats and we couldn’t have been happier with our visit. We’re very much looking forward to our wedding day and wedding cake! I highly recommend this bakery to anyone!
