A very nice place to do a gallery showing, juxtaposed against a quaint little skate park for the kiddies. The building is bright and airy, and the gallery walls are placed just so that they take you around the room and back again, showing off their collections. There’s even a kitchen area for those showings that like to provide a little nosh for their guests. A shame it’s all the way in the middle of sketchy nowhere.

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Castro Valley, CA
Took our Girl Scout troop while they were earning their Ceramics badge. Charlotte(on site teacher) was very helpful planning our time here. She took us on a tour through the facilities. We stopped to make a pinch pot and she explained the different types of clay and glazes. We saw the huge kiln which was filled with different pieces from local artists. Our last stop was the Adobe Gallery with a featured exhibit of some very large statues of heads. Girls enjoyed walking thru here seeing paintings, miniatures and the statues, a wide variety of artwork on display. The gallery itself was built in the 1920’s, using adobe bricks that had been excavated from the area. A beautiful copper relief sculture is over the fireplace, which depicts the history of the area. The Art Center is located in an elm grove that was planted by the Castro Valley Boy Scouts in 1926. This is a great community resource that offers a variety of art classes and workshops.
