This space is very clean sand seems brand new. The front office representative was very helpful as well. She called me right after I made an online reservation to make an appointment for me to come look at a unit. She walked me through the agreement quickly and thoroughly. I will definitely be a returning customer.

Right now I give a 3 star. Reason, #1. I just started with the company and have not been here long enough to experience anything. #2. I have a concern about the sprinkler system. Time will only tell. Overall I am impressed with the facilities, cleanliness, customer service, and location.

I decided to use Extra Space Storage when, at the last minute, the storage unit I wanted in Hayward was full. I am so so so glad I went with them! Extra Space Storage is clean, easy to get to and the staff are helpful. I was signed up in about an hour and was ready to move my items in immediately. I love their app that allows me to pay, check my account number and access code. It is very convenient.

I’ve rented here twice now and had excellent experiences both times!
The staff is very friendly and helpful, I truly enjoyed interacting with them. The facilities are exceptionally clean and well maintained. It is easy to get to your unit, plenty of carts to help ice your stuff, and great facilities. Everything is well lit and they even have music playing inside! Most importantly, I feel safe going to my unit even at night. This is a great place to store your stuff, and I think it’s worth paying a little extra $ for.
The next time I need a storage unit, I will definitely come back here. Thank you!

Wonderful property. Came to help my friend with her temporary move. She was able to get a space within a few hours. All the employees were friendly throughout the whole process. Area is clean and well kept. Everything seems very secure as well. Plenty of security and gates to protect everything. Price was relatively low too. Not sure how but my friend got her first month half off too. Total cost of her 3×3 space including protection fee, admin fee (one time fee), and locker fee of was $ 49.

This is my second time renting from here while between moves. Again, the service and professionalism of the staff was great! The price has gone up since I last rented here, but that is to be expected as housing rent has also gone up. I still find the rates reasonable for a clean and safe facility. I also appreciate the easiness of renting month to month here and how they’ll prorate my rent when I move my stuff out of here.

We loveee ExtraSpace Storage! Shawna really helped us and was very accommodating. We werent sure if our stuff would fit in one storage unit and she was very helpful in guiding us pick the right one!
We highly recommend this space and we will for sure come back when we move out of our dorms again!

We kept our belongings here during a transition, approximately five months. During that time we never had any issues. Cheap rent and move in. Service elevator sucks and destroyed the arm of my couch, because you can only stand the item up. It ripped the side of it. Kind of bummed because it was brand new and a pretty penny. Whatever, it happens. I did see a break in once during this five months which left an uneasiness. All and all it worked out for us, the rent was set to increase when we left but during our stay we found it to be cheap.

Customer service is great here. Made an online reservation & got a call right away. When I showed up they had everything ready for me. The space is MUCH cleaner and feels more secure than spaces I’ve used in the past.
Everything is easy to access — elevators are large, there are lots of dollies, plenty of parking spaces.

From start to finish, the customer service here was outstanding. Within 2 minutes of making my reservation online, I received a phone call from the manager (who also lives on the property) to confirm my reservation and answer any questions. This stellar service during a very personally difficult time was, in the words of another reviewer, «memorably kind and helpful». I would recommend them to anyone.

Totally agreed with other comments. Customer service, from the initial phone call to placing the order with Derrick and Shauna for a large storage unit, was amazing. Additionally, the units were VERY clean and easily accessible. The unit we ordered was the perfect size. Overall, this transaction could not have been better. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this storage facilty.

I no longer have a storage space here, but that is only because I moved out of state: believe me, if I were still in California I’d still be doing business with Extra Space.
They’re courteous, quick, and the late gate hours make it easy to get access to your things. Highly recommended!

«Good customer service» doesn’t begin to cover it. For more than a year I’ve rented storage space at this facility, and I’ve been impressed with the staff’s unfailing courtesy, thoughtfulness, and willingness to go above and beyond. When a family crisis erupted while I was switching from one unit to another, they were memorably kind and helpful — and tactful, too.
I have had extremely negative experiences with unscrupulous storage places back east. I can and do recommend the Castro Valley Blvd. Extra Space Storage. It’s clean, secure, and well-​run by decent human beings.
