This review is long overdue for the Pumpkin Patch, but better late then never! For many years, I’ve driven by Moore’s via highway 580. Just this past October, I finally stopped by to check it out before Halloween. This is such a great family place to bring the young children. They have a few small carnival rides, a big slide that you can see from the freeway, and of course lots of pumpkins! It’s a good local pumpkin patch if you don’t have time to drive all the way to Half Moon Bay. You get your little red wagon and fill it up with pumpkins/gourds. Lots of photo ops for the young children as well! I’m sure it is just as festive around Christmas when they are selling the trees. You can’t miss it, they have a huge blow-up Santa that is visible from the freeway.

Pleasanton tree lot location… clean and nicely decorated, good selection of healthy and attractive trees, staff very personable. Young man named Sean was very sweet with our children, letting them«help»; he made our day, and a nice start to the holiday season.

While this place is fun for kids, the employees are very unfriendly and their ride prices are outrageous! Also, their website says they accept credit cards, but they are cash only. I guess they just want to get people to use their ATM that charges $ 5.

We went on Sunday 10⁄25 around 4pm. Crowded but there was still good amount of parking. No wagons available for pumpkin picking so we opted to do rides for the kids. $ 30 for gigantic slides and bouncy houses for two kids. Didn’t realize it was cash only and we ended up not having enough money for actual pumpkins. Whomp whomp. My toddler throughly enjoyed the free lollipops at the ticket booth. We didn’t try food but it was standard carnival/festival fare. All in all, my kids really liked so we will most likely be back next year. With a lot more cash.

Nice place but these guys cheat when sizing pumpkins ruining the Halloween festive ambiance.

Excellent medium large size of pumpkin patch area… It has some rides, slide, bounce, hunting house, pony ride … for kids which require tickets purchase. Free parking! Pumpkin price starts from $ 1 … A little store which sells ice drink(small $ 4, large $ 5).

Pumpkins yes. Trees, sure. A friendly and warm staff to make you feel welcome? No. Let’s find the cheapest labor we can to accept money for overpriced pumpkins and rides and as long as the money is coming in, we’re good! We visited and not once did their staff smile, say thank you, or show any kind of emotion. If you’re gonna have kids coming in, at least hire a staff that WANTS to be there, or can pretend the want to be.

We bought two Christmas trees at Pleasanton Stanley location. Frosty was up thanks to petition and mayor approval. We’ve been buying our trees for years from Moore. Great trees, lots of choices, friendly help and great value. Go get your tree at Moore’s

The trees here are beautiful and they have an incredible setting, but they are super disorganized. I am so glad my strong son went with me — and basically carried our tree from station to station…

Family went today to the farm and its a very nice family place ! They have wonderful rides for kids Very nice options of pumpkins The only down side is that the pumpkins and ride are expensive I like the fact that there is no entrance fee or parking fee Nice wagons for the kids

We had an amazing time at the pumpkin patch over the weekend. Perfect place for our 3 ½ year old twins to pick out pumpkins, go on rides, and eat snow cones. The staff was very friendly. Our kids are already asking to go back!

I Unilocaled Moore Farm and thought we’d give it a try. The place itself is clean, easy to find, and has a lot of charm. The only complaint I have is the quality of the pumpkins offered. Rotten pumpkins galore! Literally just about every pumpkin we looked at was rotting or had some other unacceptable blemish. Soft spots, mold, wrinkles. You name it, the pumpkin probably had the issue. The pricing was atrocious, $ 3 for a pumpkin no bigger than a grape fruit?! We did end up buying 2 pumpkins for $ 24. Also, $ 3 bucks per ride is not family friendly.

Our family loves to go here! Great place to go have fall fun with the family! They have a couple locations but our favorite is the one in Castro Valley!

We got some LARGE pumpkins, which was cool. Kids loved the rides, but I thought they were a little old, and worn.

Went today(first Saturday after T-giving) to get a tree, and loved looking at the beautiful trees but found the customer services and prices sorely lacking. We used to go to the Coliseum lot but it has since closed, and the prices here were about $ 20 – 25 more than we have paid in the past. I asked if we got a large tree(8ft.) if they would be willing to take $ 10 off the price(which was almost $ 90!!). They said no. I only asked because we would have normally paid $ 20 less for the same sized tree, so $ 10 less was more than fair, I thought… They weren’t willing to consider negotiating at all. We left and went to the lot in San Leandro by Target. We found a beautiful tree, exactly the height we wanted for $ 67, more than 20 less than the other. The nice guy knocked off 5 dollars for us and gained a new customer. Sorry Moore’s, I wanted to love you. You would have gained a new customer who buys trees early every year and then raves about the place she got them to people for weeks, but not negotiating was more important. :-( That said, in fairness, if money is no object and you don’t care that you are spending $ 25 more per tree than anywhere else, these trees are fine.

The Christmas trees here are ridiculously expensive! They are a good $ 20 more than comparable trees you could find at the local supermarket or department store. Of course, at the aforementioned spots, there isn’t much in the way of scenery, which is what Moore’s is banking on by charging their exorbitant rates. Nestled in the hills between Castro Valley and Pleasanton, right near the Rowell Ranch Rodeo, Moore’s provides a pseudo alpine backdrop reminiscent of a place where actual Christmas trees might grow. As a matter of fact, it gets downright chilly up here, especially at night, which lends to the atmosphere they are going for. Sure, the little ones might enjoy this experience a bit more than the chain link fence wrapped asphalt parking lot most other shoppes are located in, but ultimately, it’s the tree that matters most, and once everyone is back home adorning that baby with ornaments, no one will even care or remember where it came from. I’m sure the kids would rather have that extra cash spent on something nice to put under the tree than wasted on the tree itself. To their credit, the staff at Moore’s is very helpful, and eager to give a little background on the different types and sizes, and pointers on how to decorate them. In the end, just do what I did. Go to Moore’s to soak in the mountainous environment to get yourself into the Christmas spirit, pick up a few tips, then head on down the street to Rite-Aid. Nobody will ever know the difference.

I love HALLOWEEN! The fam and I took a quick trip to Moore’s Pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. I was expecting to pay a little more for pumpkins simply because they are in a pumping patch setting I guess. But the prices on the rides are just insane. $ 1.00 for ONE ticket??? WTF? Are you serious? 3 tickets for ONE ride! HELLNO! Took my kids to McDonalds and they played on the play structure for FREE! I don’t plan on returning to this place next fall. Very disappointing.

** Review for Xmas trees only. ** My favorite place to get Xmas trees is the CV Xmas Tree Farm. Second favorite is probably the lot by the Coliseum. This year, since every last one of us has an awful cold, we went for close and easy. Moore’s delivered on both accounts. Selection was OK, but felt a little sparse. Prices were the usual«how much for a tree???» and it was easy to find a helper once we picked out The Tree. The helper tied ‘er on the minivan, and we were on our way. It was a quick outing and it was nice to support a local family business. But it didn’t feel much more holiday than that.
