I really am thankful place is in Castro Valley exists, because there are so many restaurants on the blvd. And none of them are Organic except for this place! I think people who write bad review’s for this place are pretty petty considering the fact that it’s probably one of the only truely honest businesses in Castro Valley. Like honestly, you have to have no life and zero communication skills or underatanding of how the real world works to write a bad review over Unilocal about one little item under $ 10 that all you had to do was ask for a refund in a polite manner. That said, i would recommend this place for a sandwich over Mr. Pickles because i called them and they couldn’t tell me any information about the product they were selling.

I just moved to the east bay from the Peninsula. Was used to getting pastries from Schuberts and Café Madeleine from the city. Swiss Delices is decent compared to the other bakers mentioned above and with the same price as those really good bakers in SF. I thought this place didn’t add as much value. I guess I’ll have to try other options in the neighborhood and then decide on my go to place.

I bought a truffle chocolate cake for my husband birthday, and when he cut it it was white in the inside right in the middle ??? Not good. .

As previously written, service is slightly slow, but well worth the wait. Food is absolutely heavenly. Loved the Quiche Lorraine and Crêpe Cristefano. But, will skip their Cappuccino and dessert next time. Staff very friendly and nice. Will definitely go again.

Christine and the bakery were very easy to work with. I emailed christine to see if she could do some elephant & giraffe sugar cookies for a baby shower I was hosting. She said yes they could. Perfect. Unfortunately the elephant cookies did not resemble what they were suppose to be. I thought based on a picture I saw on Unilocal of other sugar cookies these would be a lot cuter. They will do. Custom animal sugar cookies are not their forte.

This little stretch in Castro Valley is dangerous if you have a sweet tooth. Plenty of dessert options right next to each other like Rita’s Italian Ice and Knudsen creamery. I remember eating at the Swiss Delices in Hayward a long time ago and really enjoying it, so was excited to go here. This is a cute little store and has a small area for kids with a black board. Plenty of dessert options ranging from pastries to great looking cakes. They have a nice selection of Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar as well. They have an open kitchen and you can see the bakers doing their magic. The girl who helped us super sweet as well. So why only the 2 stars? I got the Chocolate Nutella bread pudding for $ 4.25 which sounded great. However, the taste was not so great. It was dry and did not taste fresh and was a total bust for me. I ended up throwing it away after a few bites. Oh, Swiss Delices, how I wanted to love thee but you disappointed me.

Great place for brunch. Super friendly staff. Awesome for kids. Most of the food is organic and locally sourced. Definitely will be back!

This review is only for sliced cake and pastries. I used to go to the old shop and was wow’ed by the selection and taste. However during my next couple of visits I noticed a significant change in taste. The cookies are more dry and the cakes also. We stopped going about a year ago. I hope they fix what was wrong because this shop had the potential for so much. Suggestion: Maybe you guys should stop serving hot foods/sandwiches and just focus on pastries and things that are already cooked. Apparently who ever is suppose to cook the hot food is not doing their job right. The cashier is not the cook nor would I like them to make my sandwich.

I just had the spinach, artichoke and feta omelette which comes with kalamata olives but I asked for without, and a side of fruit. I come here once a month at least as it’s right across the street from my work. They make great pastries and sweets and their coffee is organic and delish! This morning breakfast was absolutely incredible! I tried not to lick the crumbs on my to go box. I did leave a tip and my compliments to the Chef! =)

Christine & her team did an amazing job making 1,200 custom cookies for my company’s store opening. They made them exactly how we requested. Customers loved these tasty treats and they made our event so much more special! They tasted as good as they looked!

From the time I sat down and ordered to when the food arrived it was over 45 minutes. We ordered 3 meals and there was only one other couple in the restaurant at for the duration of our wait. The food was sub-par, fairly expensive for the portion sizes. The atmosphere of the restaurant is bright and nice, but save your time and money and go next door to the ice creamery for faster/better service with much more realistic portions.

We have ordered a few cakes from here and we are very happy with the outcome. Last minute, we ordered a cake for my daughters Baptism. I wasn’t sure about what flavor I wanted and the baker gave us some samples to taste test. It was very moist and yummy! They were able to make it exactly how I wanted it. I showed Christine a picture and she was able to replicate it. She even made matching cupcakes. It was a big hit! We usually have left over cake when we order from other places but this cake went quick. Thanks!

Note: this review is specific only to my wedding cake and nothing else. I have gone to Sswiss Drlicez several times since they opened and before they expanded their menu and services. The owner. Christine, works hard and is very nice, so it saddens me to have to mention anything negative about her business no matter how constructive it may be. So here we go! Several months ago I arranged for a wedding cake tasting and consultation with Christine. Thereafter we communicated by email and phones out further details of my order for my wedding on June 6, 2015. Less than two months before our wedding, I received a call from the pastry chef, Manuel, who informed me that they lost my cake top! I was horrified, especially since I paid $ 65 for it and I was forced to find another to replace it! In fact, I was not able to replace it with the same one and had to order something similar, but different. When I asked to talk to Christine, Manuel said she was unavailable and on sabbatical. Luckily, the bakery paid for the replacement cake top, additional cost for a rush order, and the cake box for safe transport. When I called the bakery two weeks before my wedding to check on the status of the cake top delivery, I was told that Manuel no longer worked there. I have a strong suspicion he was the problem to begin with! Despite all this drama, my Swiss yellow cake with caramel buttercream filling and buttercream frosting was beautiful, moist and delicious! Our wedding guests raved about it and so did my husband and I. Thank you, Christine, for making things right for our special day!

***Originally a 5 star review*** Been here numerous times and always gave them the benefit of the doubt with the service, but this last time was the final straw. The service is embarrassingly bad. I mean bad, the place isn’t even busy and I have to get up to ask for more water and coffee really? No one checked up on us, no one apologizes for the slow service. It feels like no one cares. The menus have typos that are misleading and the cook knows it! He was the one who told us the menus were wrong. Yet they don’t change it? That’s really sad. Food is always amazing and very tasty. It’s the only reason I’m even giving any stars. I love this place, but the owner needs to address these issue ASAP. I want to come back, but not until these issues are addressed first. I’m a CUSTOMER who cares.

Note: this is NOT a fast food establishment. It serves good, wholesome, made from scratch food, exactly as advertised. And if you know anything about cooking from scratch — each item made to order — it takes a bit longer to prepare than pre-processed/pre-packaged, «simply re-heat» meals or going to your local«fast food» place. With that being said, the food is worth the wait(which isn’t that bad). I had the Breakfast Crêpe and the flavors were amazing! I’m ordering a sandwich to take home to my husband, who has a cold; when he’s better, I will bring him here to enjoy the fresh tasting, made from scratch, savory dishes, fresh out of the kitchen! If you don’t have time to wait for a fabulously crafted entrée, best to move on and NOT write a bad review. I’ll definitely be back!!! Check out their cooking classes too!

Passing by, my kids and I decided to give this place a try since it’s been a while since we’ve had crepes. I should have checked the Unilocal reviews first. Ditto on all the comments about slow service. Service was horribly slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. Apparently you’re supposed to walk to the counter to tell the lady(standing there idle and serving no one) that you’d like to sit down and get menus. After getting menus and placing our orders, it took about ***45 min*** to get our food. While the food was flavorful, my crêpe was cold!(They must be cooking them one at a time.) The portions were also small. Note: At first the waitress didn’t want to honor the offer for a free kids entrée with purchase of an adult entrée(only supposed to be valid Tue-Thu?) even though they have a sandwich board advertising the deal. With the deal, the food is relatively inexpensive. Kudos do go to the teen boy who was working hard cleaning and trying to help out where possible.

We got here at 12:30. It’s 1:13 now, we still have yet to eat… We came in so excited as the menu and service seemed to promising. So far, things are not going well. After walking in the lady at the register told us to sit and they would take our order like a regular restaurant. We sat down and they brought us water. So far so good. After 10 minutes of nobody coming back to take our order, I finally walked up the register to give them my order. 20 minutes later the server came back to ask if I wanted bacon or sausage(something she should have asked earlier). 20 minutes after that she asked how I wanted my eggs done. I was surprised that the meal wasn’t even ready at that point and told her that. It’s now 1:18 and we are considering paying for our water and coffee and leaving. I am starving and wondering if the food is worth this pathetic wait. Nice atmosphere. Not so great service. 45 mins later… I’m still hungry and have no food.

Thank you so so much to sweet delices. We recently had our event with their mini eclairs and mini cream puffs. I am so grateful for the time and effort they did to add our theme colors in(black, gold, white). Our guests have never eaten anything so cute(or delicious) as these. One of our guests even commented that they were too cute to eat! Highly recommend this place. The whole experience was wonderful. From the creative planning, ordering, pickup, to presentation of pastries. Everything was top notch! Thank you for adding that extra something to our event!

Eh I ordered the Banane crêpe, it was supposed to have caramelized banana, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and butter. What I ordered wasn’t what I got. What I got was raw banana and mascarpone cheese. It was gross. Needless to say I won’t be going back…

Je suis français, j’achète régulièrement des buches de Noël et des galettes des rois, je puis vous assurer que cette maison fait des produits de grande qualités et je la conseille à tous. I travel from France regularly, and their pastries are verry good, made with great products. I recommend this pastry shop.

Such a lovely shop! We’re a little disappointed that they closed their Hayward location, but the new store on Castro Valley Blvd is bright and spacious. They offered walk in cookie decorating last weekend, and the girls had a great time with all the excellent edible paints. Meanwhile, Mr. M picked out some nice pastries for Monday breakfast. Very delicious. I spoke the the owner, a charming woman. After admiring the girls’ artwork, she told me about the birthday parties she offers. Eight kids can each decorate six cupcakes to bring home for $ 200(of course prices may change). Compared to other I-don’t-have-to-prepare-or-clean-up birthday places, this is a mighty fine deal. And the six cupcakes beats any goodie bag full of candy and plastic toys. I think Littlest M may go for this next year.
