Was looking for some 2−3″ thick slab material to build a custom staircase for a client. Called around to a bunch of local lumber yards, but everybody wanted crazy amounts for the material and couldn’t get it for weeks. Got a hold of russell via craigslist, called and left message, he returned my call within the hour. We set up a meeting for the next day, not too far away, just out near manassas. He had a bunch of choices, oak, maple, walnut, i went for the cherry. Price was less what big yards wanted to charge and i didn’t have to wait. My staircase turned out great, since then i have been back couple times for coffee table, bar top and headboard projects. He also has a steel fabricator hookup who does nice work and is very reasonable.

I went here to buy cedar wood to build a raised garden bed 4×8. I was surprised to see the quantity and varities of wood they had. They cut the wood boards to measurements for me on the spot and saved me a lot of time and effort. I’m glad they get a lot of their wood from surplus stocks, builders, etc… and that way it’s being recycled and put to good use. Russell the owner is very friendly and showed me around. These guys also build custom tables, chairs, etc. They have a great Small business operation and i’m glad I can support them. Wish them luck and I’ll definitely be back again.
