They lie about everything shaaaaady.
(Despite knowing we were leaving town to travel home in a week) they said «it was no problem». The day we were to leave, I had to phone Dave, and he lied about saying Monday our car would be ready.
Instead he estimated that the car may be ready in another 1 – 3 days infuriatingly dismissing that his original word given was false.
Dave non apologetically lied over the phone, he conveniently doesn’t remember shaking my husbands hand on 9÷25÷2015 quoting, «that the following monday the car was to be ready & payment is due when work has been completed».
They have your car ripped apart, so literally screwed… My family and all of our gear stranded in 106 degree heat almost 1000 miles from home & Dave laughs…
The best part? They opened a credit card account and racked up 4,000 dollars as soon as my husband & I left on the day an estimate was given 09/​25/​2015. The application advertised 0%APR for 12months, guess what arrived in the mail? A card with 0%APR for 6 mos only!
10÷05÷15 I had to travel back to Cathedral aamco/l&t transmissions over 700 miles to get my car, no test drive on pick up, just Dave holding my key hostage until «I sign a receipt that I didn’t authorize».
Dave pushed charges on a card fraudulently, everything they said was a cluster F of a lie & my car runs like crap. You guys are almost the worst experience & I hope BBB/​fraud alert takes a long hard look at your business practices
I confronted Dave of the premature creditcard charges. Dave blames the credit card company for the charges ran on 09/​25/​2015
(within the hour of getting a quote a charge was pushed through).
I call BULLSHIT DAVE & his accomplises. fyi credit card company’s don’t work that way, and pointed the finger at the merchant.
The car idles rough & is Not fixed/​shifting correctly. Maybe the diagnostic machine is lying?
Bad business ethics. I had to limp my car back home because they gave my car back with initial symptoms & new ones as well.
Don’t bother asking for the parts they supposedly replaced, you won’t get those either

So I left an In depth review on My Negative experience so Im going to write another one on how the GM Arnold Fixed it.
He took full responsibility even if it was not his fault AT ALL.
He called me and apologized and told me how exactly he was going to fix it and he did.
It was a pain to deal with in regards to the voiding the previous financing agreement for my co-​signor but you know what? ITS DONE!

The customer service was great to begin with, it was just the financing slip up that was the issue.
FYI Arnold is the General Manger, if you ask David who the Manager is and he says «I am» again… Skip that step and ask for Arnold or the GM (They are one in and the same). He will take care of it.
Nothing against David but if he doesn’t know how to handle a financial agreement, he shouldn’t be doing it. Messing with someones credit in that fashion can REALLY screw somebodies lively hood up.
What if i wasn’t an honest person and decided to bail! Then the other guy would be stuck with this bill! That is why this is so upsetting. I have had my credit messed with BIG TIME by somebody that i trusted and I’m still suffering the consequences.

Ripoff. Items stolen out of our car. Of course they deny it, but I feel they took the items. Terrible experience and the 1450 no matter what even if you decide to not have work done is bogus. Avoid!!!

Very very pricey couldn’t get straight answer of how much my total repair for my transmission dave said they only replace parts that our worn instead of repairing whole transmission 2800 for parts instead of rebuilding never will go there again be warned they try to sell you on 900 hundred stores they have a rebuilt transmission is only 1300

Came in to get a diagnostic on my 89 Ford Probe because of a clutch problem. The entire staff was helpful from the moment I walked in the door. Two gentlemen in particular by the names Ben and Arnold, these guys went above and beyond in giving a proper diagnostic. Unfortunately, my car isn’t in good condition and my engine is no good, but thanks to them, I’m going to be saving money that would have been put into my clutch when it’s my engine that needs the work. Theses guys are awesome at what they do, and before I left they did me a favor of adjusting my clutch pedal for the mean time. Best part is, it cost nothing, because they do free diagnostics. I highly recommend Aamco if ur having car trouble and have no idea what to do or where to start, they made life a tad bit easier. Thanks Aamco of Cathedral City

Love this place. Had a problem, took it to another shop they wanted to put in a junk yard transmission. Aamco found a bad solenoid. Works great.

From a women’s prospective this is a great place to get your transmission fixed,… NO games no lies, friendly atmosphere,…would I go here again. Yes an refer a friend also

I was having car problems on my way out to Palm Springs and was referred to the Cathedral City Aamco. After finding out I had to have my transmission rebuilt, they explained in great detail and kept me informed throughout the entire process of what was going to happen. They were very honest and kept the price as low as they could. Arnold was very helpful and the owner Larry stepped in with his expertise which made me feel that much more confident in my decision in spending the money to get my car fixed. I am very happy with their work and my car is as good as new. I would most definitely recommend any family or friend to Aamco if they need work done on their car. They just received a lifetime customer! :)

I took my 2003 VW convertible bug in because the transmission was slipping. Aamco guys noted this was a recall issue and should be covered by the recall warranty. I appreciated their honest advice. Thank you

I don’t think so! i have never been given the run around as bad as these guys did. I kept hearing excuses plus they are trying to charge for the days they couldn’t do anything and say they cut the labor costs. I have gone to check on the work cause the guys said they are working hard, just to get there and see that no one had touched my vehicle since the day before. Also telling me they need a system inspection report which I called another aamco to find out not for the transmission. I told them why are they ordering part from all over the country when there are so many places around to order plus dealerships keep extra parts and fluid i was told it is where they get items needed. They are charging for stuff never done then using more excuses. I also saw a report of how many people they ripped off buy double charging and lied about actual labor hours. And thy were shut down before. Wish i had seen this before i let them take it apart. Telling me that they have to wait and order parts and they are charging me labor for the days they don’t work. So I am reporting this to Bureau Of Automotive Repairs

My daughter recently took her VW Jetta to this Aamco. They diagnosed the problem, quoted a charge of $ 4500 for the fix and took it in hand. There were problems with the fix, admittedly, but the reason for my positive review of this location is that Arnold and his crew stayed with the problem until it was repaired. They spent untold hours working to find the difficulty that kept cropping up and they never suggested that they should be compensated further for the costs of the additional work. I was very impressed and very much appreciate their dedication and good service to my daughter and me (I paid.) Thanks very to the Cathedral City Aamco, Arnold and all his guys there!
