Great food all around! The muscles here are my favorite. They have lots of different creations that you won’t get anywhere else and the service is great!!! Carlos is the man and really knows how to recommend rolls that you like based on your taste and will never forget you.

This is the worst sushi restaurant I have ever been to. The fish was sour and the wrong color(green). When we walked in the place was packed and despite the shabby décor we figured from the reviews and the amount of people we might have stumbled on a gem. No. No we did not. We got our food and each took 2 bites before we asked for the check and just left.

I’ve been a fan of this place since they opened up. Before that we’d visit with Carlos at Joes Sushi quite frequently before the service just got a bit out of hand. In the last 4 months I’ve noticed a tremendous difference in service. We always tend to hit this place with about 5 – 6 some times more people. In December my son wanted to have Hamashi sushi for his celebration… He passed up outback for this place. We showed up with a total of 7 of us at our table. We already know the service is super slow and you have to plan on being their a while especially if you’re doing the all you can eat. This particular day we all got the all you can eat sushi including my little ones. We were there about 2 hrs longer then we wanted to be, but that was not the clincher it was the bill after… They decided to add a hefty gratuity due to our party size, mind you $ 25-$ 30/person can add up to a nice automatic gratuity however as much as I love this place it’s far from fine dining. I was a bit put off and swore I’d never go back. A month later we were craving that Mexican fusion with sushi that this place can provide. We walk in wanting the all you can eat and the owners daughter tells us «that stopped at 6pm it was 2 mins til. We decided screw it we’re here lets just order… This past weekend on a Friday we go again 4 of us around 5:10 for dinner we decided that we’d all do the all you can eat… This time the all you can eat ended at 5pm. I was beyond bothered. They don’t have their menu pricing changes posted any where and in all honesty the sushi grade isn’t the best. If I’m going to spend 100 bucks on sushi I’d rather drive a few miles more to Matsuri and enjoy some amazing quality sushi. The hospitality isn’t the best either when Carlos isn’t there. His daughter is far from filling his shoes.

Awesome sushi and awesome combinations with great service! The staff is always very friendly and make you feel right at home. Their miso soup is on point and the sushi always tastes fresh. Even though this place is small, it feels very cozy and they are more than happy to accommodate larger groups of 8 – 10 people when needed.

TALKABOUTFRESH! They have the freshest sushi in the area, mega portions, and great friendly service. If you are a sushi eater, do yourself a favor and eat at Hamachi Sushi. You’ll kick yourself for not going sooner. KUDOS!

I was at cathedral city to meet up with a friend and we decided to try this place out because of the good reviews. This was the worst sushi restaurant I have been to. The rolls are huge so I couldn’t fit the pieces in my mouth. The bento box was just ridiculous. Will never come back here again

We were looking for good tempura and teriyaki and the reviews on Unilocal indicated this might be a good place to try. Well, the reviews were right! Let’s start with the service. Totally spot on. Prompt, friendly, attentive, just like it should be. The facility was clean and didn’t have that«fishy» smell that so many sushi places have either. The place is small, so might not be great for massive parties, but ample enough room for the average dinner party. We really don;t do raw food, so we always go for a set menu of California roll, tempura and teriyaki beef, basically a bento box with an appetizer. Everything was spot on. The California roll was fresh, the miso soup was perfectly balanced. The tempura was light and crisp, and teh teriyaki was one of the better seasoned teriyaki sauces we have had in a while. It was a little strange to have veggies in the teriyaki beef, but it actually added to the flavour, and the beef was not lacking. Out of the Japanese places we have tried in the desert, this one sits at the top of the list to-date.

Amazing sushi at incredible prices! Carlos is very kind and accommodating! It’s nice to find such a delicious sushi place with great customer service! Definitely our to go place now especially since it’s conveniently located on the route between riverside and Arizona! We got the China roll and the Alberto and they were both incredible! The shrimp miso soup is the best I’ve ever had. You won’t regret coming to eat at this gem

Had a bit of everything here and enjoyed each item. Their poky(not poke) bowl was filled with fish. Their rolls(and we had multiple) were filled with flavor and stacked with a variety of spices. The service was top notch and all our food came at a steady flow. Gotta order the Desert Storm when you go. The Thai ice tea came in a huge cup too! Will definitely be back for more. The portions are so generous that we had to cancel one of our roll orders BC we were so stuffed.

Food was awesome! Who knew i would find an awesome sushi place in the desert? Their rolls are very good and their staff is nice and friendly. I can’t remember the name of the rolls I ordered but they’re all good. I also had some unagi pieces and it was also very good and tasty. Would definitely come back again.

It’s sooo awesome to see a local finally running his own restaurant! I truly hope Hamachi sticks around because the desert is in need of good quality fish at reasonable prices! The fish is fresh, the location is convenient, and the service is tops. My dad had the salmon teriyaki plate and I’ve been craving it ever since. It was such a fat piece of a salmon cooked perfectly(not dry and thin like most places!!!) and the best part? They left the skin on!!! FREESALMONSKIN!!! My new regular sushi go-to spot when I’m in the desert! The only thing I ask… Give us an all you can eat option! I just can’t get enough :)

It was ok. Service was very friendly and prompt. My sushi boat lunch was tasty, but with 5 pieces of sushi and a California roll(eight pieces, though the pieces were pretty small) I was wanting a little more. David’s beef teriyaki/tempura combo looked more generous. He liked the tempura a lot but the teriyaki had a lot of green peppers and a cloying sauce. Nice staff, wish the food had lived up to the 4.5 star average.

Bummed because reviews for this place were super good but the food was not that great. The staff was super awesome, nice, friendly and the server knew her stuff but their kindness did not make the food better. 10 piece Salmon sashimi had small portions, they gave 2 extra pieces to make up for the size which was super nice but the salmon was falling apart and was not very fresh tasting. The spicy tuna roll was more fishy tasting than I am used to for a tuna roll and small portion of tuna in each piece. The shrimp tempura roll had a good portion of avocado on top but even that roll was small in regards to the inside content. The prices for the rolls were average $ 5.99 for a spicy tuna roll, $ 10.99 for the shrimp tempura roll and $ 12.99 for 10 piece salmon sashimi. I don’t mind paying these prices when the food is good but I was left slightly disappointed. Because of other peoples reviews thought we would try the food but will not be going back. But everyone has different opinions of goodness so give it a try for yourself!

Awesome joint! The food was DELICIOUS! We ordered quite a few things and they all met our high standards very competently. –Chicken Teriyaki plate –California Rolls(no avocado) –Yellowtail sashimi –Albacore sashimi –Spicy Ramen w/egg All the food was cooked very thoroughly, rather not cooked since it IS raw fish(sushi), and had the most tastiest flavor. I am so impressed to find such remarkable food and sincere customer service being served in such a small area, you would think that such great service and food would be held more towards the strip of Palm Springs. Fernando is a great worker and took care of us incredibly, considering that my boyfriend and I are very picky eaters. I highly recommend this place to enjoy a nice lunch or dinner. Workers here are truly so considerate, friendly and welcoming.
