After driving(and stopping at every scenic point) in the Grand Canyon and Zion, we made it to Cedar City. It was a long day, we were tired and hungry and this was close. And pretty good food was found inside! Wife had the chicken fried steak, and while not a big steak fan, something fried with white sauce gets her attention. I had the meatloaf which came with a brown gravy. Place wasn’t packed, but the service was a little slower than it should have been, even to get water(which were wanting badly), so only 4 stars. Not the greatest meal I have ever had, but it was good, priced fair and definitely better than anything you’ll get from a drive-through window. A table of teens had ordered some various burgers and they looked good as well.

If you love some good comfort food, this is your spot. We were here for the summer games and tried it based on reviews. We had scones, pancakes, cheeseburger, and the open faced turkey plate and all of it was great. Service was very friendly. You can tell it is a great locals spot.

If I have learned anything from checking Unilocal reviews is that there are a lot of idiots who write reviews who have zero taste or knowledge about food. You have to check the bad reviews to get an accurate picture of a restaurant’s quality. For example, I read a number of raves about the chicken fried steak at All American Diner. They were either written by someone trying to pump up the ratings or by morons. I was there in late May 2016 and made the mistake of ordering the chicken fried steak. It was terrible! It was one of those processed pieces of crap that come frozen and partially cooked from a restaurant supplier and then deep fried. If I hadn’t of been so hungry, I wouldn’t have eaten it. When the waitress asked me how my food was, I told her what I thought and she admitted it was pre made and deep fried. The service is not the problem with The American Diner. It’s the food that sucked. The service and the toast is the only good thing I experienced there. And what baffles me is how they do such a tremendous business. Of course, it is a small town with not that many choices. Buyer beware. If you want good food, eat there at your own risk.

Great little diner in Cedar City. The place looks older, but the food is great and the service was also great. We tried the club with sweet potato fries and the chow line. Big portions and it really is comfort food. Would recommend and will visit again.

Chowline is a must have, huge portions. Food was excellent, service was great. You will be completely satisfied. We couldn’t wait to grab a bite. Hence the portions of our plate had already been devoured. The fried cheese cake is another must have.

We stopped in this place on 5÷22÷2016 Sunday. Got off the freeway to find a restaurant for some food and stumbled across all the cars & trucks my wife said this is the place(no pun intended). We entered and a short line and a really busy but we were in in 3 to 4 minutes wow. While waiting in line our eyes popped out of our heads, the food looked so good. My wife ordered French toast, her sister ordered a half order skillet breakfast, I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger, and it tasted better than it looked. The prices were like 10 years ago. I’m a real critical of restaurants and this one is a 12. We go back and forth between Utah and Nevada a lot. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent, and of course the food I would recommend this for everyone.

Food was yummy and the portions were large. Someone in our party ordered scones, which came out looking and tasting like flat Krispy Kreme donuts. not bad, just unexpected. Denver inlet was juicy and good, as were the hash browns. If you like a friendly local diner, it’s for you!

The Good: The Food is delicious! The true test of a diner for me is if they can make a good chicken fried steak; best chicken fried steak I’ve had in a long time. Reasonable prices. The ambiance is that of a friendly, old fashioned diner, which is good because it is a friendly, old fashioned diner. The wait staff is nice. Crayons and paper for the kids. The Bad: The benches are in need of replacement but are still in relatively good repair. Parking is small and hard to get into, it’s best to park at a nearby place and walk. While well maintained, the bathrooms could do with a bit of a facelift. The Ugly: The carpet is old and stained, definately needs to be replaced.

Now THAT’s a diner! We stopped in for breakfast and loved it … every single bite. We had the Chow Line(ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, country potatoes and scrambled eggs all mixed with melted cheese and covered in country gravy), and the chicken fajita omelette(which is something I would not have tried but for our server’s recommendation). Both meals were huge, and delicious, but if you’ve gotta choose opt for the Chow Line. Oh, and our kids grooved on the yummy pancakes too! It’s a little out of the way, but well worth the stop!

4÷15÷16UPDATETOPREVIOUSREVIEW Drove up to Cedar City again a few days ago. Had breakfast at the All American Classic Diner once again, and AGAIN had the same fabulous experience as last October! This place ROCKS! … October 3, 2015 OK, so we decided to head up to Brian Head for some leaf peeping yesterday. Reviews of restaurants in Cedar City suggested that breakfast at the All American Diner would be survivable, so we took a chance. Boy, are we glad we did! If you like your breakfast with a side of Declaration of Independence, in a dining room festooned with American flags and flag art(as I do), you’ve gotta try this place. Sure, the carpet’s a bit scummy, the chairs are stackable, and the wood paneling is right out of the sixties, but who didn’t love the sixties? The table of 8 – 10 regulars(Veterans all) who have breakfast together there EVERYMORNING speaks volumes about the place. We were offered a table, proffered some coffee, and perused the menu. I picked the widely acclaimed«Chow Line»(full size), sans the ham. Spousal unit tried the breakfast burrito, well customized(she being high maintenance). Our server, Gina, handled the changes with aplomb(no, not a plumb, they’re out of season). I had just gotten my coffee customized and cooled down, just the way I like it, enjoyed 3 – 4 short sips of the brew, when I had to move it out of the way … as our food had arrived! WTH … usually I’m on my second or third cup when IHOP gets our food to us … what’s with this place? Are they trying to give us «the bums rush» out of town, or something? Both of us stared in amazement at the mounds of food on our plates. We immediately ordered two take home boxes, as it was obvious that neither of us had a chance at finishing all that food. Now, I’m no slouch at ingesting mass quantities … but this was way more than I could handle in one sitting(CURIOUSREADERUPDATE: it took 2.5 sittings). Everything about both our dishes was delicious. We waddled out to the car for the drive up to Brian Head and Cedar Breaks. Spousal unit napped like a satiated kitten, while I drank in the yellow aspens. I woke her up for the views of Cedar Breaks, and then she was nodding off again as we descended for the trip home to Hurricane. We both agreed that we had a fine, fun-filled day … kicked off by our visit to the All American Diner. We’ll be back. Dean Herrington

Great pastrami, wonderful breakfast sausage, everything cooked well. Skip the clam chowder — NASTY, watery and expensive for a tiny portion. Waitress was fast and friendly. I left my phone and tried to call the business using husbands phone but they wouldn’t answer their phone but I found it left on the counter for anyone to steal. That was upsetting.

Small country diner feel. Stopped here after a birthday cabin weekend near Duck Creek. They were busy when we arrived, but still managed to give good service. The scones were delicious with and without the honey butter. The group I was with had a great time although the locals gave us a few looks. Guess 3 lesbian couples laughing and enjoying themselves at brunch is a shocker. Overall positive experience.

Wow! Small, quaint and incredibly busy diner in Cedar City. I have posted a pic of the club sandwich. The bread is obviously homemade and the sandwich is a beast. They also offer several sides if you don’t care for French fries. I had the patty melt and side salad. Generous and yummy. This place was crazy busy at 1100. Servers were friendly and well organized. Our server, Jenn, was on point. Our order was correct and our tea glasses never went empty!

Great breakfast at the, All American Diner, in Cedar City. I had steak and eggs and my husband had, Country Fried steak and eggs. Food was cooked perfect!!! The plates are big with lots of food, for a small price! The people were lined up out the door, it was so busy, but the service was excellent and food came out fast!!! Whatever they are doing, they are doing it right!!! We recommend it… Other plates looked great coming out of kitchen and the pancakes looked amazing!!!

Great family place! Delicious down home comfort food with the friendliest staff too. We were seated right away and food came out very quickly. The place looks well loved but very clean. You can tell its a favorite spot. We all had a variety of food off the menu, it’s a plus that they serve breakfast all day! The portions were very generous and everything was tasty and hit the spot. They were so completely understanding and cool with my baby as well. It was our first time taking him to a restaurant and food was everywhere and they were so nice about it. Prices were very reasonable as well. Would definitely go back and recommend!

First off, contrary to what their Unilocal profile says they do NOT take reservations, . Went on a Sunday morning around 10 am and it was pretty packed but the wait for our party(5) was about 15 minutes, and as the very friendly hostess said, it’s worth the wait… and it was! The food was very good, large portions, fresh and the service was fast, even with the packed house. Kudos to the wait staff. Fast and friendly. The pancakes are large(as expected), the eggs were on the small side but considering the price of eggs these days, probably a business decision and not a deal breaker by any means. We had the bagel sandwich(excellent), breakfast burrito(excellent), and the short stack plus eggs and bacon(also excellent). The one thing I would do differently is order the hash browns extra crispy — they were a bit on the not-so-crisp side for my tastes, still good, I just prefer them more crispy. Other than that, next time I’m passing through this little hamlet of a town, I’ll stop in again, for breakfast and wouldn’t mind trying a lunch here.

WOW! Great all American diner in old town USA! You walk in and this place bleeds Red, White and Blue! Love it!!! All American Diner sits on Main street in Cedar City a few blocks up from SUU and the Shakespere Festival. Service was top notch and incredibly friendly. Our waitress was happy, greeted us with a smile and took her time with us. Prices are very reasonable and for the most part, everything we ordered was freshly prepared. The mashed potatoes were just like what grandma used to make. There were 4 of us and everyone enjoyed their meal. Dad had the liver with the mashed and a cup of the soup of the day. He said it was
