We stopped here in our way to Mesquite. Based on the reviews we decided it sounded good and boy were they correct! The carne Asada fries were amazing! The chimichanga was so big me and my 18 yr old shared it and we were satisfied. Service was friendly.

I love this place. They have the best breakfast burritos in town. On Fridays they have the sausage breakfast burritos on sale for only $ 3.00 which is a very good deal. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed. Worth stopping in and giving them a try. You will be very glad you did.

The service was good and polite, the food left much to be desired. The price was very cheap, but I was still unimpressed. It’s rare that I wish I had gone to a fast food chain instead…

Okay so we gave this spot a second chance on their carne asada fries but I ordered them special… No beans and no pico… They are just like back home!!! So if you are from San Diego like me and want them the OG20yrs ago way, order them special!!! They do a great job and don’t make a fuss about the changes either!!!

Ordered small carne asada tacos, chicken enchiladas, and asada Chimi. They are all great and especially asada Chimichanga was so delicious to me. Highly recommended.

This place, though lacking in design and decoration, has amazing Mexican food!!! My fiancé and I ate here a couple of days ago and needless to say, we were very impressed! We are Mexican food lovers and when we tasted their carna asada chimichanga was amazing! It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I loved every bit of it and my fiancé completely devoured his! I’m so glad that we went there! The ingredients are fresh and the flavors are amazing! We will definitely be visiting again in the future!!!

Insanely good burritos. Both the carnitas and adobada were out of this world. I bought another to go. Great salsas too. Nice clean quick spot.

This Texan can give El Jefe two thumbs up, without reservation. The carne asada burrito is a meal and a half, and they are the real deal. Mmmmm

The Number five was so good. The prices are so reasonable, and the salsa bar really hits home. Also, not everything is covered in cilantro so that’s really good. I like this place a lot.

I’m a Mexican Food lover and this place is legit. We were just traveling through, but I wish we could come back! Carne Asada fries was a great suggestion. We couldn’t stop eating them! Milanesa torta was interesting, but not my favorite. Avocado salsa was so good, I dipped the pickled veggies and cucumbers and radishes in it. Chicken taco was exactly what was expected. We were stuffed and spent less than $ 20 for two people.

Under staffed on my first time here. Cashier/server/busgirl was by herself but was very nice. I would recommend this place. If your in Cedar city.

Being a die hard California burrito fan, and being from Southern California(the home of great Mexican food) I was a little hesitant to try this place in a place so far from home. I mean, good authentic Mexican food in Utah? Well, I definitely found a competitor for my favorite spot of best California burrito! Wow, there was so much meat in it and the price was so great! I probably will be back tomorrow before leaving just so I can have my fix again.

I was prepared to come home and give this restaurant a 5 Star review. The food was excellent. I decided to use the restroom before I left. El Jefe owners, maintaining clean restrooms should be at the top of your priority list. Yours was disgusting.

Super place. Yummy food and great value. The horchata was delicious and the servings were giant and whipped up fresh. Neat salsa bar and a gas station with a beer cave right across the road. Perfect after the trip through Zion and a late check in for some family take out.

So if any Californian is h’angry for some Mexican food on the 15 driving through Cedar City this is a taqueria with surprisingly good eats. Being from SoCal, we were glad to find SoCal style Mexican food out here in Utah. You step inside this vibrantly painted walls(bright green, burnt orange, and blue) in this cozy restaurant. Then you step up to the counter to place your order with their friendly staff. Dining choices: private booths for 2 to 4 people or cafeteria style seating that can accommodate large groups. There’s a foosball table for playing or hanging out while you wait for your order. The restroom facilities are clean and well-maintained. There a coin dispensers for treats and toys for fun!

This is just like your typical Roberto’s tacos. They are open until 12 am which is great as most restaurants are closed at 10 pm. You can find a large variety of mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, carne Asada plates, soups and chimichangas. There is no waitress service, it’s more like a fast food restaurant but with a much better flavor. The prices are even better, you can get rice, beans and meat for just 9 bucks! They also have Coke in a bottle, tamarindo and horchata. So if you are looking for something quick and cheap this is the place to go.

As if Cedar City doesn’t have enough Mexican places, I decided to try out Tacos El Jefe tonight based on good Unilocal reviews, and must say, I’ve found my new favorite Mexican spot. Love that I could order and sit and the food was brought to me. SUU discounts as well as senior and military. Fantastic salsas, especially their red and green. I ordered the carne Asada chimichanga. It was the size of my head, and the fry one the chimi was perfect. I will definitely be back for more.

Jefe’s was alright I guess. My sister was not diggin’ the suspicious broken ceiling in the women’s restroom or her cold enchiladas and I was not feelin’ the hair in the radishes or the dry shredded beef in in what appeared to be a lettuce taco. She however made do with a trip to the men’s restroom and the microwave and I ate carrots and onions which were pickled and pretty tasty. The guacamole sauce is really delicious. Thankfully I was not very hungry. I snagged a few bites of the enchiladas though, they’re yummy. That’s it. The décor is smh. the end

Generous portions for cheap prices. There was way too much sauce on my enchiladas and it was too spicy. Bland rice and refried beans. Good selection of salsas and several sides – radishes, peppers, cucumbers, carrots, onions, etc. Everything was fresh and fast. Daily specials and discounts for military, police and firemen. Friendly staff. Many locals here. Several seating areas to accommodate all sizes of groups.
