After an amazing weekend in Duck Creek my 2 friends and I were craving Café Rio. We arrived to this location with a sign on the door stating«Out of medium sauce». Okay, no biggie, we can go with a different option. Loving the grilled chicken, two of us wanted that as our choice. Wait, what did the gal taking my order just say??? They were out of grilled chicken!!! Since this is the only thing that one of my friends orders, she said, «well looks like my lunch will be cheese and queso». She stepped up to place her order and was promptly told, «we are out of queso»!!! Are you freaking kidding me? Well I guess since there was literally no other choices, lunch for my friend became Starbucks across the parking lot, which by the way, they weren’t out of coffee.

It takes talent to be this bad. I always enjoy the food at Café Rio, but this location has the worst service in the business. I frequently have to deal with rude employees and long wait times. The manger also needs to drasticly change how the drive up window is operated. They have long waits to order at the microphone. This creates havoc in the parking lot. This leaves no cars around the building and a huge waste of space. For those who enjoy the Café Rio chain, steer clear. The Costa Vida across the street isn’t much better either. My suggestion, steer clear of chain Mexican resturants in Cedar City. Maybe try Brody’s Mexican food one street over.

I think this was the filthiest and dirtiest restaurant that I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m upset with myself that I didn’t cancel my order and leave rather than actually eating what they made there. Even the staff had a dirty and disheveled appearance. The staff had an air of chaos and being overwhelmed. We had driven too far and were starving, but should have still gone elsewhere.

Drive thru service: horrible. Waited like 10 mins then some rude female attendant with a nasty tone said«pleeeease hold» Then I drove off to del taco. Laters rio

Drive through was terrible. Our two tacos had no cheese and very little meat. My tostada had no cheese also and very little meat as well. The creamy tomatillo dressing was overly spicy compared to normal. If I came back it would never be through the drive through.

I live in Las Vegas and love Café Rio. While on vacation we ate at the cedar city location. It was filthy inside. The glass windows where you watch them make your food was disgusting. It had food all over the glass and the food area was gross as well. I know the location I go to in Las Vegas is very clean. This place was not. The food tasted good but the tables were dirty and so was the floor. I would not recommend this location. This place needs cleaning and improvement.

Worst Café Rio ever! The queso was gritty and the food was cold. Plus the restaurant was super dirty. I didn’t want to touch anything. DISGUSTING!

The guy making the food had a respiratory tract infection and kept coughing. Not sanitary. The food was only fair. Generally a low class place. You could do worse but I would not suggest coming here ever

Horrible customer service. Seems very dismissive and rude. Don’t go here unless you want sub par service.

Café rio usually never disappoints in taste, but slowly but surely most locations are going downhill on service! And now even some of the taste has been compromised by strange ratios of the food! My husbands tortilla was the size of a small pancake, and they put 3 times the amount of chicken on with a dollop of rice. Cedar city location lacks customer service big time. I wish the owners of café rio would run it like the tight ship it used to be.

Food is always good. But the employees lack professionalism. Seems to be a running trend at Café Rios in Utah. I prefer this location to the one in St. G. If you are not from the area, this is vaguely similar to a Chipotle. Shredded chicken is very juicy and flavorful. Handmade tortillas keep me coming back.

I am a fan of Café Rio, but this place is nuts. I’ve never seen anyone slop food together so fast. The employees in the food-assembly-conveyor-belt line were so fast and careless, it blew my mind. The guy was slapping meat and beans onto tortillas at a Mach lighting speed, without any pride in his work. He demanded to know what we wanted to put on our burritos and if we didn’t have a lightning-quick answer, he was super annoyed with us. I couldn’t concentrate on telling him what I wanted because his hands were flying around like he was chasing a fly with a fly swatter! All I could do was stare in amazement. When I commented to him that he was NUTS,(in a nice, joking manner), he smugly said«thanks» without cracking a smile. I felt like I was in a food marathon. Like I was the fourth runner in a relay, trying to catch my breath as the burrito was passed from teammate to teammate or something. ITWASBONKERS. I can’t handle that kind of pressure or that kind of a lack of pride in their work and disregard for customer service. It was like THESOUPNAZI in there! NOPORKBARBACOAFORYOU!!!

We keep trying to believe it will be better. But this continues to be the slowest and least quality-controlled Café Rio in Utah. Drive on. Hold off until St. George. Besides the slowness, the food is not at the same level we expect. Something is always burned(this time the fire-grilled chicken – last time, the tortilla). The lettuce is drippy and torn in beyond enormous sizes. And – they could turn on the lights and sweep a little more. As a true fan – I will continue to hope this spot improves. No longer holding my breath.

This Café Rio gives you what you want! I asked for extra meat and they gave me just that! When I have asked for the same thing at other locations, they are very careful at how much extra they give! Awesome employees who care about satisfying their customers hunger needs!

My favorite restaurant of all time! The grilled chicken salad is amazing. Best homemade tortillas ever. I cannot believe they only have 3 stars.

I LOVE me some Café’ Rio, I go to the one all the time. Wanted to try this one out. No Joke a I found a bug in my salad. I can’t eat there anymore. Also the place isn’t very clean and the portions were a lot smaller then other Café’ Rios I’ve been too. Probably better to avoid this place and try some place else.

We stopped at the Cedar City location late at night on the way to Provo from Las Vegas. Even though it was clear that they were shutting down for the night we were still served an incredibly tasty meal. I got the usual Sweet Sweet Pork Barb Burrito Enchy style with hot sauce no rice. And my Dad got the Chicken Quesadilla. There was one worker, taking orders, making food, and running the cash register with more than a few people in line. We had to wait a bit but she worked really hard and delivered us the best Café Rio experience we both have ever had. My dad said it was the best Quesadilla he had eaten in his life. Props to that lone worker last Wednesday night.

Good selection of Mexican fare, beverages include everything from diet Dr Pepper to four flavors of iced tea. They are missing free Wi-Fi Internet connection service. Portions are large. Flavor is good. Bulk up on the burrito. Convenient when traveling on the interstate. They recently upgraded the freeway access at this exit. Fast service if you can manage to miss the peak dining hours.
