Top Cat

Wonderful, wonderful! The best seafood around and my first visitation (on ⁴⁄₂₃). I had the Top Cat platter with 4 shrimp (large), French fries, green tomato relish, homemade tartar and cocktail sauce, 4 oysters (medium size), 2 catfish filets all expertly prepared with just the right amount of breading and hush puppies. There was also a corn-​on the-​coblet and a green onion to boot! Very clean establishment and very organized. The staff there, from the owner to the cooks were all great, funny and knowledgeable… loved the experience!!! I will definitely go back because the prices are right and I enjoyed the «staff talk». These guys really know how to treat their customers and are quite entertaining doing just that! Highly recommended!

Everytime I go the fish is fried hard and the grease needs to be changed. I don’t care for the burnt taste of food.

I was pleasantly surprised by how darn good this was. I am not a huge seafood fan but I have heard good things about TOp Cat and we were hungry and in the Cedar Hill area.
The restaurant itself is very small but very clean which is super important to me. The bathroom was very clean as well — another plus. We ordered some shrimp baskets and some catfish filets. I thoroughly enjoyed my scrimps and the fries were awesome. I don;t know what it is but usually seafood fast food places tend to have great french fries and pretty decent burgers too. Each plate was served with a side of corn which was a grilled cob. That thing was tasty! Also they serve each plate with a sprig of green onion. I think my Mom said that was old fashioned and is something that they did a lot. I didn’t think much of it but when I ate it with the food it added to it. I learned something new! Green onions served with seafood = a step up on flavor. Even the tea was good y’all!
This place is very down home meaning they are very much operating like a small business even though there are multiple locations in the metroplex.
Would definitely return.
