Dietrich Quality Design

We used Dietrich for some odds and ends projects on the exterior of our house, though I know they do interior work as well.
I’ll also note that the name ‘Quality Design’ here may be confusing — I’m sure their design work is great, but they’re really home builders/​contractors to do pretty much anything you need around the house.
And as the other reviewer noted, we’re in S. Austin (Bouldin Creek) so they’re definitely willing to travel — not just Cedar Park projects.
We have a 1910 house that was in need of a paint job, new porch roof, new gutters, and we wanted to install rain barrels. And they built new window boxes for us!
They did an amazing paint job — good price, SUPER fast, quality work, and power washed it first.
The porch roof, gutters, rain barrels, and window boxes all look awesome.
The only issue we had, which was small, was that they’re not necessarily used to providing breakdown budgets, so we had to ask for that.
Some of the best things about Gene Dietrich and his crew:
— They make sure you’re very happy. If there is one little thing you want to change, they’ll come back and do it.
— They’re fast AND good AND prices seemed very fair (it wasn’t dirt cheap, but not on the high-​end either. You get what you pay for! If you want dirt cheap it would take forever or the quality would be crap.)
— They work as a great team — it’s not a piecemeal-​ed group of contractors, but a team that works together on all projects. Gene seems to really take care of his crew — those things matter to me. And I’ve found that people who are happy in their jobs usually do better work!
I highly recommend Gene Dietrich and his crew!

And update on Oct. 8, 2014
In the past year, we again hired Dietrich and his team to completely gut our house down to the studs, renovate the first floor, and add a 2^nd floor. No easy job! It was, needless to say, a massive job for all of us, but we are back in our house and so, so thrilled with the work they did. It is just beautiful. Gene’s crew was just great, from demolition to completion. We have all new plumbing, electrical, windows, doors, floors, stairs, roof, siding, a new deck… you name it, we re-​did it. Our poor old falling-​down bungalow is now a sparkling modern home (although we retained the bungalow character.
And not only did they do a great job, they did it incredibly fast — 4 ½ months! Our architect said there was no way that would happen, but they did it. Which saved us so much money on our temporary rental.
I’ve recommended these guys to so many friends, so it’s high time I update my Unilocal review!

Aw it’s terrible that I’m the first to review these guys — they have been around for so long and do SUCH great work! We recently hired Gene Dietrich and his crew to do a bunch of random things to the exterior of our old bungalow, and they did all of it perfectly. Here was our laundry list:
— Power wash the house
— Replace the rotted siding and underpinning (there was a LOT)
— Install a French drainage system to the back of the house (to prevent runoff from collecting)
— Power wash the fence (crazy how much better it looks!) and reorient where one of the gates connects to the house
— Rebuild the railing around the front stairway and front porch
— Build a new landing for the back door entry
— And the grand finale — paint the entire exterior of the house!
These guys did all these things on time, on budget, and with smiles on their faces. Gene Dietrich is such a pleasure to work with, and he had a lot of great ideas for how to achieve our goals without breaking the bank. He’s just one of those guys who can figure out how to do anything. Nothing seems to phase him. His team is wonderful too, really hard-​working, respectful and just plain nice.
We live in Travis Heights so do not think that his location in Cedar Park is a deterrent! It never seemed to pose a problem.
I heard that Dietrich just did the remodeling out at Travaasa Spa — can’t wait to check it out!
