Amazing food, amazing staff. This was our first time here, and the chef came out to our table to welcome us and give us samples of the fajitas. We ended up ordering the beef fajitas and split the ½ pound between the two of us. it was plenty! The best fajitas we’ve ever had! Yes, the prices are a little high, but it was WELL worth it. We only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. We ordered chips/queso, ½ lb of beef fajitas, a size of corn on the cob, and a brownie for dessert and our total was $ 43! Plus, with the fajitas, they have unlimited tortillas, Guac, cheese, and sour cream. No regrets! Go to Lupe’s!

Lupe Tortilla was the best Tex-Mex I’ve had in Austin! The combo fajitas and homemade tortillas were delicious. My buddy Michael and his wife Kristin mentioned it once, but never the fact that it WASSOGOOD! Que Bueno!

This north location gets super busy — so get here early to beat the crowd… it’s good, but not worth a 60 minute wait. I like both salsas and the service has always been good. I had the portabella mushroom(on the veg menu). It’s excellent, but a little pricey considering it’s, you know, a big mushroom. Drinks were good and she kept them coming.

Each time I’ve eaten there, the food was just ‘fine’. Nothing spectacular and the prices are a bit inflated. I went there with a few friends for lunch about 2 months ago. Ordered the regular sized frozen margarita. Decided I wanted the large on my next order. Glass was a bit larger but the glass itself was much thicker. Having my original glass still on the table, I poured the large into the regular size glass and guess what, it was the same amount. I called the manager over and he explained that the difference was in the pour. «See, when the large is filled up to ‘here’(max) and the regular is filled up to ‘here’, you’re actually getting more with the large». He wasn’t making sense(talking himself into circles trying to justify the difference in the no difference) as my ‘large’ wasn’t filled to the ‘max’. it was about ½ inch under the rim. Anyways, reluctantly he charged me the medium price for the large. I’ll stick with the mom & pop places.

They really do a good job of bringing out your food warm and fresh, and it comes with a lots of chips and salsa. I had the Cilantro Jalapeño Chicken, and the issue is in order to keep the chicken breasts nice and juicy they do something(like use a tenderizer or some soft of sodium based preservative or over salt — I don’t know which). The chicken tasted decent but salty, and not like if you cooked at home. I’m pretty sure it’s not great for you health wise. Secondly the portions are too big but consistent with the pricing. Enough to easily feed you for 2 meals, they all come with quadruple carb: rice and tortilla, beans, and free chips. Service was good the place looks nice and clean, sure I’d eat their again but not if I was trying to eat well.

Every time I go to a Mexican food resturaunt I have to judge it based on the salsa. And the salsa here didn’t wow me. At all. My sister and I came here with my niece, and all of the servers and staff were amazing! Super friendly and knew how to keep a conversation going. Both of our meals had great flavor as well! I got beef enchiladas, the meat was perfect. Not to chewy! So I will definitely come here again, but not for the salsa.

Let me start off by saying i have driven past this place several times and it sends to have a decent crowd. So we decided to give it a shot! To start off the host was rude and told us it was a 10 minute wait mind you it was dead only 3 tables filled and a few at the bar. We figured were already here let’s wait. were finally seated our waiter came took our drink order very simple two water with lemon, 10 minutes later after asking another waiter where ours was we recieve our waters no lemon. I proceed to ask about menu items out waiter was not attentive or helpful with the menu items. I ordered the beef taco chicken enchilada and tamale. My husband ordered the chicken burrito. My order came out incorrect and the FOODWASDRYANDDISGUSTING! Worst Tex Mex I have had in cedar park or Austin!!! It took them until we were done picking through the food for them to bring out my corrected chicken enchilada and it was small and burnt. Stuck to the plate. And to add insult to Injury our waiter charged my husband for extra beef d en tho he ordered chicken and charged me for them to give me the correct enchilada. I spoke with the manager about the poor service and lack of quality food. He tried to resolve the issue but also tried to justify the quality of food saying this is how we always make our food. Either way I highly recommend you avoid this place at all cost. There are many more Tex Mex restaurants that have friendly staff and 100 times better good and cleanliness.

I’ve been coming to this location shortly after it opened but just getting around to writing a review. By far, my favorite location in Austin — maybe because it’s so close to my home. But seriously, the servers are superb, management is awesome and the food is top notch. There was this one time we ordered fajitas to-go and returned home to see we didn’t have tortillas. I called, wasn’t overly upset but I just wanted them to be careful the next time. I didn’t want anything for free but the manager said they would comp my order the next time. Talk about problem resolution! I was impressed and very thankful. I haven’t cashed in on my free fajitas and I may never do it but it was the thought that counted most. And by the way — you can’t go wrong with chicken and steak fajitas! Just saying…

Update! Came in Sunday March 13th and was served at the bar Kim with flower in her hair. I orders a hand made margarita After she gave me my drink she walked away to the kitchen even though I was ready to order as I came alone. I thought oh she is going to get chips and salsa, nope she came out empty handed. Didn’t get chips and salsa until my food arrived even though the people next to me(whom arrived later) got theirs. She asked me as she was taking my plate away if I wanted another margarita. Nope, but would have been nice to have one with my meal. She was nice but just not very attentive Best frozen margaritas I have ever had. Great tacos, enchiladas and chicken fajitas. Chips come with salsa and a bean dip as well. Thank you Colton! Another trip another happy customer! Margaritas are on point and beef tacos were amazing. Thank you Andrew!

Good food, great service, friendly staff, clean restaurant. The price is a little more than most, but we really enjoyed our meal. This is a fairly new restaurant. Plenty of parking. My family ordered several different items and nothing was a disappointment. They were kind enough to offer us a sample of their fajitas and they also were very good. No complaints!

Wow! I’d heard it was good but WOW! Super nice staff! They even brought us a fajita sample when they learned it was our first visit! We ordered mixed beef/chicken fajitas for 2. I took the leftovers home to my hubby. Chips were crispy and in a big basket. Unique, flavorful salsa with a little kick of spice. The fajita meat was sizzling hot, melt in your mouth, flavorful and GOOD! Best fajita’s we’ve ever had! And we eat out Mexican food a lot! Beans and rice were great! Lots of sides and not stingy with them like many places are. We expect cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Amazing how many places charge extra for that with fajita orders! Can’t wait to go back! Nice waitress and entire staff!

Great food and great service, definitely 5 star food. But owch, the value. Value is 2 star at best. $ 40 dollars for fajitas only that are just slightly better than our favorite place elsewhere that we can get for $ 25. We rolled up at 11am and were the first to be seated. As first timers we were treated great with free samples of the fajita beef(very tender!) and the manager came by twice to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. Our waiter was professional and attentive, so I’d say the service matched the prices in our case. One thing that surprised me were the flour tortillas– they are HUGE but not too heavy, fortunately. The beans that came with the salsa were excellent, even better than the refried beans with the entrée. Rice was good too. Chicken a little dry but not terribly so. Beef was very tasty, but LIME is the main flavor here for sure. One big bummer was the tiny tiny ration of onions and peppers. I don’t know how you can charge $ 40 for a pound of meat and skimp on the trimmings… I just can’t pay this much for the food. Everything was very flavorful and high quality, but when I can get the same level of flavor for much much cheaper elsewhere, I just can’t justify eating here regularly. I will say we were absolutely stuffed, since we had the flameado as well. Maybe when we want to have a light lunch and order the lesser fajita portion, we will come back, but it just can’t replace our regular haunt for fajita feasts. Its a $ 18(considering tip) difference for us. I know if I got the long wait or the lukewarm service highlighted in many of the other reviews I would be upset after spending so much. But we had a good time, so 4 stars it is! I guess we got lucky.

This is the only place that I order fajitas from… The beef filet, the regular beef, the chicken and the shrimp are all extremely tender and succulent! But honestly it’s the home made warm, fresh corn tortillas that draws me in… the flour are warm and freshly crafted too but I find it rare to get such an exceptional corn tortilla! This location is busy, busy but large and if I’m dining alone I sit at the bar and eat there. It simplifies things for me. I also occasionally enjoy a margarita here, especially the Prickly Pear version. I do pay attention to if I’ve eaten at all or not as the tequila seems pretty strong and will upset my stomach if it’s on empty. 2 additional reasons I dine here is the good customer service,(Kim the server/bartender is really great), and they have adequate staff. AND THEBUNUELOS, oh my… so fried, so delicate, so crispy and warm with Cinnamon Sugar, Honey and Vanilla Ice Cream… oh my, oh my, oh my! The serving is adequate for 4 so I always take the rest home — amazingly they are crispy and good cold. Adiós

The first attempt to dine at Lupe, we were told the wait was an hour and a half. Seriously, no way was I waiting that long for Mexican food. The second time I was off work so we got there at 4:30 and the wait was twenty minutes. This wasn’t unreasonable so we sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly and quick. The drinks were potent and we were having a great time. Our name was called so with our drinks in hand, we go to our table. Our waiter brought us chips and salsa as we already had our drinks. The waiter wasn’t friendly nor helpful. He was just doing a job. We ordered the mixed fajitas and I asked them to sub the Guac with sour cream. It seems their claim to fame is homemade Guac made tableside. Nope, still not interested. It took about twenty minutes and the fajitas arrived. Defending homemade tortillas and they were good. Skimpy on the meats and peppers & onions but not on the cheese. I kid you not when I say there was ½ pound of cheese in the bowl. Not crazy that I had to slice the serrano and jalapeño peppers myself, yes, they gave us whole roasted peppers. We rationed the meat so we each had two fajitas. They were tasty but not the best I have had. The manager was making the rounds checking on customers. He stopped at our table and asked us in a proud voice, «Aren’t these the best Fajitas you have ever had?» Honestly, they are good but not the best I have had. He promptly said enjoy your meal and walked away. Guess I shouldn’t have been truthful. BF had ordered a second drink while waiting for our food. He said it wasn’t as strong as the first. We passed on dessert. Based on the prices and wait times, don’t think we will go out of our way to come again.

Went on a Friday night and we knew they looked busy, but boy were they busy. They told us it would be an hour and 15 minute wait for a two top. We both had had an innate feeling that we wanted to eat here tonite, so they took our cell number and said they would text us when our table was ready. A lady ahead of us heard her wait time and she muttered no restaurant is worth waiting that long as she walked out the door and left. I’m glad to say she was oh so very wrong! We both got a drink from the bar, and the bartenders were very nice even though they were slammed. We sat outside on the beautiful patio and sipped our drinks and did some people watching. Even though it was August, the patio was shaded and comfortable. The time went quickly and we got the text for our table being ready. We were greeted and seated by a friendly hostess. We ordered some queso and guacamole to start and they were both delicious. They also serve complimentary chips and salsa and some very tasty borracho style beans. It was all very good. We had come to this place for the fajitas. Beef in particular, so we ordered our half pound to share(apps filled us up) and waited in anticipation. When the fajitas came out they were sizzling and smelled delicious. We got the extra topping of Monterey Jack and fresh sliced jalapeños as well, which was good. These fajitas were fantastic, they were tender, and they had a great combination of grilled and tangy flavor that’s hard to describe but just perfect. The tortillas were also great. Giant in size, but so light and thin, definately homemade and definately delicious. Be forewarned, these are very expensive beef fajitas at. roughly $ 40 per pound. I never thought I would pay that much for fajitas, but these are that good. The other menu items looked great on others tables, and they seemed to be enjoying then, but I’m staying with the fajitas for the near future.

3rd time’s a charm I suppose? The first time we tried to dine here it was by invite only, or you could sit at the bar which I’m only a fan of when I want a few drinks and appetizers, not a full dinner. To me it’s reminiscent of sitting in a highchair while at the same time trying not to knock your neighbors with your elbows using a knife and fork, but to each their own. The second time we tried was mid afternoon on a Sunday and the wait for 2 people was an hour so we went elsewhere as we were starved. Last night however, we managed to get there a little before the dinner rush and got seated within 10 minutes which was awesome. Our waitress was very sweet and did all the right things like suggestive sell appetizers and desserts, brought refills and napkins without asking, and even boxed my leftovers for me. It took ten minutes for our drinks and chips to come out though and another 20 for our meals. We love the food at Lupe but every time we go we seem to get slow service. It makes me wonder if they give servers too many tables per section, or if we just have bad luck and go on nights they are short staffed. This location is still new though and I understand that it takes a while to fully get into the swing of things. Per usual we were both extremely pleased with our plates. I got the cheese enchiladas with red sauce, a side of black beans, and their seasonal street corn. Perfection! My husband got the Pablo combo plate that came with a beef tostada, beef chalupa, beef taco, a side of rice and beans, and he ate every bite. I do wish the prices were a little cheaper though. $ 12 for two cheese enchiladas, beans, and corn seems steep to me, as delicious as it is.

Truth, I was initially bummed to see that this new building was going to be a Tex Mex restaurant but only because we have tons of Tex Mex in Cedar Park. After dining in earlier this week I have changed my tune. Lupe does serve some solid Tex Mex and service was spot on. Lupe Tortilla is in soft opening/training days and upon walking through the door was told it was«invite only». I found this odd because they have been open for about a week. The hostess did say she could get us a table in 20 minutes or we could sit at the bar. We opted to sit at the bar. After we ordered drinks we were brought chips, salsa and beans. I thought the salsa and beans were rather bland(adding salt helped) but it was all uphill from there. For dinner I ordered the ensalada verde salad and added grilled shrimp. The salad has fresh mixed greens, roasted peppers, generous slices of avocado, pico de gallo & queso fresco and was topped with perfectly grilled pieces of shrimp. The salad was delicious and super filling. Jesse opted for the pedro. The pedro is one beef enchilada and one cheese enchilada smothered in a rich ancho sauce, with rice and frijoles. The beef enchilada was fabulous. It was stuffed with shredded beef and the savory sauce and rich melted cheese was Tex Mex perfection. The refried beans were incredible. When we received our check we were pleased to find our drinks were on happy hour which included my glass of wine. I enjoyed the atmosphere, excellent service, cold drinks and great entrees. They have a nice patio and some tables set up for people waiting. They not only have purse hooks at the bar, they also have electrical plugs to charge up your devices.
