Perfumania

I have been a long time fan of Armani Code Black. It is my cologne of choice for many reasons. I was running low so I went to Lakeline Mall to pick some up at Macy’s. I was just aimlessly pondering about throughout the Mall. Taking my time and enjoying the people watching etc. I happened by this store. Not sure how long it has been here nor why I have never noticed it before. Maybe it’s the name. Perfumania sounds like it would be catering only to women’s perfume. I went in. Yes they have lots of women’s perfume, but, guys they got lots of cologne for us too.
I was immediately greeted by a very pleasant young lady. I priced their 4.2 fl oz of Code. Today they had it at $ 74.40 which is 20% off the regular price. That’s a good deal. I asked the clerk if she knew what Macy’s was selling for and she said no. She then encouraged me to go check Macy’s as they are often competitive with their prices. I thought that was weird like she was letting a sell walk. Anyhoot I went to Macy’s. On my lazy stroll there I ran into another perfume store on the ground level. Can’t remember the name, but, it is close to Macy’s. They had the 3 fl oz for $ 75! I told the gentleman working there about the deal at the store upstairs and he didn’t believe me. I suggested he walk up and see for himself.
I finally made it to Macy’s and was greeted by a very pleasant woman. Macy’s had the same size for $ 96 which included a free bag (tote). Something I really don’t need more of. I told the lady about the deal at Perfumania and asked if she could match the price. She politely told me no and apologized (God she was so sweet!!). So back to Perfumania I went. I told the clerk about my findings. She told me that she often lets customers check the other stores so they don’t have to inconvenience themselves by returning the product if they find it cheaper. I think this sales lady knows her stuff and definitely has some bronze to play with an $ 80 sale. I happily purchased my 4.2 fl oz of Armani Code for a grand total of $ 80.55 including tax. I made a savings of $ 18.60 and I ended up with yet another free bag!

Finally! Customer Service. This store as of May 26^th, 2011 is under new management. The old ones: fired! Thank God! They were awful. Great place to go, and great customer service! April, the guy you dealt with was the new store manager!
