The first impression wasn’t great. All the tables were dirty and had dirty dishes on them. I ordered the marinated chicken with veggies, egg roll, and vermicelli rice noodles. The noodles were cooked perfectly(al dente). The rest of the dish was very bland. I tried to spice it up but all they had was Hoisin(Chinese) and a chili paste. It didn’t help it much. For 10 bucks it’s a waste of money. I can make this at home in about 20 mins and it will be much tastier. It wasn’t awful but it was bad enough that I won’t be back to try anything else.

Love the Chicken Bahnmi sandwich. The Cajun Phở is hot but yummy! We usually have to take home our soup since they give you a big portion of it. We love the place!

Based on the reviews, I was expecting a lot better experience. The guy who greeted me was very soft spoken and friendly, but the vibe I got from him was just janky. I ordered the shrimp and pork springs rolls and pork bahn mi to do. The spring rolls were excellent, but they are super stingy with the sauce. Never fear, though, you can buy extra for .50! Wha? The bahn mi had quality lean pork on fresh bread. Unfortunately, the vegetables were VERY salty and gave off a fishy smell. I think maybe they marinate them in fish and soy sauce? That is just a guess. Regardless, it ruined the sandwich for me. I might go back and try something different, but I won’t go out of my way like I did last week.

As I live in Cedar Park I was looking for a place to get a bahn mi as opposed to going into Austin. I read all the great reviews so figured it was a no brainer. Was I wrong. Ordered 4 bahn mi ‘s and took them back to the house where my wife and kids were waiting for lunch. First bite of the sandwich and you get hit with an extremely salty taste, all 4 sandwiches were like this. I’m not new to bahn mi ‘s as every other bahn mi I have had has a pickled vinegar taste. However the pâté, carrots, and daicons used in these sandwiches are so salty it’s almost unedible. Had to remove them and ate the sandwich without the veggies. Oh and their website is also down which the employees did not know about as they directed me to the website when I asked about a menu.

I was a little iffy when I went to Phở What! the first time because of the name, but once I stepped inside and looked at the menu all of my fears were erased. Phở What! serves traditional Vietnamese Phở that is the best I’ve found in the Austin area so far. Over various trips I’ve had the phos with eye of round, brisket, meatballs, and the combination white & dark chicken. All have been excellent. I typically order take-out and I’m always impressed by their packaging that includes just the right amount of garnishes and sauces to really take their phở to the next level. I’d definitely recommend the eye of round or beef meatballs.

After a long weekend of parties, my wife sent me to get some recovery food. Phở What! is exactly what we needed. I called in to get the order to go. I ordered a Phở with brisket, she got the rare eye of round, and we split an order of egg rolls. 15 – 20 minutes later I arrived, everything was packaged up, separately, in a single bag. This included appropriate amounts of sauce to stir into the soup. I got it home, everything was delicious. The meat was tender(I’ve often had not-tender, gristly meat in phở, but not here). There was enough food for us to eat our fill and have enough left-overs for a snack later. All that and it fixed our hangovers!

10.10… Freakin 10! We looove this place. Great food, awesome staff, amazing owner that comes out to talk to you, and when his family and staff eat there, that speaks volumes! Come try it and you’ll love it… I guarantee.

Ive had the beef and chicken phở soup on several occasions, and both were always delicious. The springrolls are big and loaded with fresh ingredients and served with a yummy peanut sauce. The last time I dined in, I ordered the banh mi pork sandwich, which was good but the daikon and carrots were incredibly salty vs the pickled vinegar taste that I’m use to. My husband ordered the pork vermicelli bowl and had the same experience. I don’t know if maybe it was a bad batch of pickled daikon and carrots, or what. That being said the phở soup and spring rolls are great and remind me of the Vietnamese restaurants I enjoyed while growing up in the Bay Area/San Francisco.

This was a very pleasant surprise. I was hankering for some phở or lunch and a quick Google search suggested ‘phở what’. This was a super solid meal and caught me off guard. After looking over the menu I went for the vermicelli bowl over the phở. The chicken was well seasoned and not over salted, the vegetables were fresh, and the noodles were a perfect consistency and not a sticky mess. I look forward to going thru this menu and trying more offerings in the future.

Keep Austin Weird by coming here. This is my new favorite place in Cedar Park by far. Here’s how good the food is… Last week I was super sick. My husband went out to fetch our phở order, and in the meantime I fell asleep. In my Dayquil induced haze, I dreamt that I had already eaten my phở, and when I came back for seconds ITWASALLGONE. They had run out. True story. The staff are very friendly, the restaurant is clean and well lit. And if you get takeout they provide these plastic bowls so you can dump everything together. No extra dishes required at home. So, for those of you saying, «well, this isn’t like the phở I had at this fusion place and blah blah blah,» that’s nice. Stay in your lane. I’m going to this place from now on.

Dude, don’t come when it’s raining because it’s busy and they only have one persons serving everyone. I’ve been waiting forever for my food and they even served a party that showed up after me. Pretty disappointed.

I have been to several Vietnamese restaurants. This one here is one of my favorite! They have the best Bahn Mi sandwiches! I have tried all of them and must say that the tofu one is my favorite. Fresh and tons of flavor. Highly recommend it. The Phở is also one of the best. I noticed this last time that they are offering a «cajun phở» which includes crawfish! I must try this before its off the menu! The service has been great every time and the chef/owner has come to the dining room ssking how everything was. I do appreciate when business owners/managers take the time to make sure the customer is satisfied! I recommend this place.

Not good. Small group came for dinner, ordered two different vermicelli bowls and a seafood phở soup. Soup broth had no flavor. I added all the sides including the jalapeños, no spice to them. Blah. Both vermicelli bowls were left over half full. No good flavor, had a sort of vinegar taste– even after adding two servings of fish sauce. Fish sauce was blah with a bit of blah. One good thing– their ice tea was good. I had ordered a Thai iced tea too, but when I saw it come out in a can– I declined. Overall, disappointing.

New fan to PHO in past year, but will try and give my best review. Was visiting friends in Texas and they raved about this place. Was a great experience. I had the Cajun Phở tasted great and spicy like I like it. Been to places in SoCal and Bay Area and this is right there with them. Continued success

Finally got to visit again after a long summer of no eating out at lunch. I was rewarded with the best bowl of Bún bò Hu I have ever eaten. I eat Vietnamese all around north Austin and have to say that the phở here is as good or better than any I’ve tried. The specials are amazing — Bun Bo Hue, Oxtail soup, Cajun Phở, Bun Rieu… I’ve had the Bahn Mi a couple of times, and it is perfect — but I just can’t go there and not get a big bowl of noodle and brothy goodness. The owners and staff are amazing. Don’t bother with Kim Phung next door — this is the place to be!

We visited Austin over the weekend and this was the closest phở shop near our condo. We had to get our phở fix in before heading out back to Houston. The restaurant is not that big, our group took up half of the seating but than again we were the first customers that morning. Our group ordered spring rolls, Vietnamese egg rolls and the pepper squid to starty. The pepper squid was so good, I loved all the garnishes they put on there, it was almost like a salad with fried squid. We also ordered the seafood phở and the beef phở, everyone enjoyed their phở. The broth was tasty, I ordered the seafood phở and they put a little to much fried garlic in my soup, I didn’t care for it, it was overpowering. The waitress/owner were nice and took care of us, despite being short staffed. I would return here if I ever came back to this area.

Really more like 3.5 stars. We were in serious need of vegetables Saturday night after attending Austoberfest and phở sounded like just the ticket. We called in our order ahead of time and it was ready on the dot when my husband got there to pick it up. I ordered a vermicelli bowl with tofu and it was great. The tofu was thinly sliced and perfectly seasoned, and the cucumber, carrot, and bean sprouts were crisp and fresh in the bed of rice noodles. I added sriracha for heat and it totally hit the spot. My husband got the banh mi sandwich which he still talks about. I believe 1 second after inhaling it he tweeted about how good it was. It was huge and around only $ 5 which is a steal. I am very excited to try their soup next time. The man on the phone was very nice and I’ve read many other reviews about friendly staff here which always makes me love a place even more. Stop in and give them some business! It certainly won’t break the bank here to try something new and fresh.
