Boston Fish

I went in not sure what to expect, I’ve driven by this place many times and finally went in. From the outside it looks rather run down but I found the interior to be quite nice. limited menu, you’re either having a sandwich or fish and chips which is super, it’s a fish joint. The fish and chips I got were fine, nothing special. There is the added problem of smelling like a deep fryer for the rest of your day after you leave, if they could fix that it would probably get another star from me.
Overall, I think the 2 star «meh» rating fits. I wouldn’t object to going back but I won’t make a point of it unless I NEED fish and chips.

I had the opportunity today to go to what I knew as a child as the Boston fish market. it was at that time just a fish market not a restaurant as it is today. the fresh fish were not available today; apparently only come in on Tuesdays and the frozen fish were no different than you would find local supermarket. when I questioned about the prices of the fresh fish I found it they were more than what you could find in the local supermarkets. I did eat a meal at the restaurant of one of the fried fish. I found it very disappointing. the accompanying green beans were right out of the can and the baked beans were not flavorful. I listened to some of the customers sitting around me and it seems like I probably ordered the wrong thing. apparently the cod sandwich is very good. the ladies who provided the service were very kind, however this would not justify my returning to this restaurant further.

The fact that there are no reviews for Boston Fisheries in Cedar Rapids does not give me much confidence in Unilocal.Boston Fisheries has been around for many years and there is a reason for that. There food is hot, fresh, tastes great and the service is fast and friendly. Customers have been giving Boston Fish 5 stars for more years than you have been around.
