I normally don’t like chain restaurants but this one is an exception. So many yummy items on the menu… the onion rings could be a meal, the veggies are fresh and delicious, really nothing bad on the menu that I’m aware of. If you’re a bloody mary fan, get the one with moonshine. I personally don’t usually go for this drink except here. So good… but I will guarantee that my food experiences here are not influenced by the booze.

I love this place. I am a major fan of the pot pie, broccoli casserole and crescent rolls. The steak is always tender and cooked perfect. All in all a great place to eat amazing food on a small budget.

Our waitress forgot to ask us what we wanted for a side and when we told another waiter, she told him that she thought we didn’t want any sides. She also forgot our appetizer and when we reminded her, she told us that they made them but «they didn’t look appetizing to her» so she was having them make new ones. Not satisfied with the service.

Had a great dining experience here. The menu offers great variety and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I found the atmosphere to be quite nice as well. A little noisy like others have mentioned but I myself didn’t find it to overwhelming.
To my surprise I had a burger that was cooked to perfection! And big in proportion. I must also recommend the fried cheese curds. Lightly battered just how I like them. My wife had the monte cristo sandwich with raspberry dipping sauce. And we both had a meal left over for the following day.
The second visit didn’t hold up to the first so the inconsistency brings me to a three star rating. It is a great place for groups and a great value for the money.

The place sucked. We walked in and thought we were underdressed because the place was so sofisicated. Well it looked like it anyways. We thought it was going to be great. The food was sufficient. Meaning the food was food just that. There was nothing special about it. If anything the food was as good as Applebee’s. The line don’t ever judge a book by its cover plays greatly in this. The place looked magnificent but the food was trash. So if ur hungry and really want something good. Try the panda express inside. U won’t be disappointed.

Been here twice & food and service was quite good.
Only disappointment was the noise.

I sat at a full table of six and could only hear guests directly
across or next to me. The place was about half full but everyone
was yelling. I visited the Iowa City store and found the same

Great service! Great food! Great prices! The only timr we had to wait was opening week. The monte cristo is amazing! Also live how you can add beef or chicken to queso appetizer at no charge! Love the atmosphere!

Before we went here for the first time, I did not realize they would have southern comfort food. You have to try the chicken fried steak, cornmeal catfish, pot pie, ceasar salad, and honey buttered croissants. To top it off, you have to get the green beans… wow.

Good prices, good food, and good signature drinks; however, the corporate atmosphere clogs up service occasionally.

The good: Food is affordable and a few of the items I have had were fairly good.
The very bad: Do not attempt to go here with a party of more than 5 – 6. They only have like 4 tables that aren’t booths, and you cannot add a chair on a booth due to fire code. Would have been fine waiting 30 minutes for tables to get up, but the staff didn’t communicate with each other that they were going to use 2 tables together. While one went to grab someone to help push it together another host sat one of the two tables. 45 minutes later we decided to split our party and eat separately. This experience was made worse by an impolite manager who basically told us tough luck.

Second visit to this location. First time was awful but it was new so gave them a second chance.
Wish I would have stayed home.
First went early in the evening so the crowd was very light. There was no wait, well no wait to get seated that is.
Took more than 15 minutes to be greeted by a server.
We ordered beverages, an appetizer, and our meals all at the same time. Main dish came out before the appetizer
We politely refused the mains since we still had not received the appitizer, that we were looking forward to.
Our server had three tables. Yet we rarely saw the server.
Food was just okay.
Hate to say it, but not worth the hassle for me.

Food is average. My problem is a charge to my credit card that I have been unable to get removed since 12/​22/​2014. They don’t dispute the charge they just fail to follow through after several calls. Called corporate and got voice mail also and no response. So watch your charges as they the basic staff is overworked and organization is apparently lousy. THIS IS AN UPDATE AS OF 02/​09/​2015. After numerous calls to the restaurant and corporate office still no one ever called back or were helpful. Have to go to bank now to complain and file a claim with VISA as my bank says that’s the procedure. They are a very disappointing operation. DO NOT recommend from my experience. There are soooo many words that I could use to describe them, but they have more lawyers than I do.

We had a wonderful experience. Yes, it get a little noisy with the large crowds they attract, but what’s not to love about a clean and attractive facility, from scratch cooking and easy on the wallet pricing? Everything we had was good and made fresh. Recommend the home made chicken tenders and onion rings in particular. The menu is full of down home comfort foods so don’t expect crazy chef-​inspired entrees. We had two dinners, onion rings and a large beer for less than $ 28 including tax and had enough to take home a doggy bag.

Very good ambiance. The drinks are strong and reasonably priced. The food is surprisingly really good for a chain, and is decently priced. It caters to any crowd, it’s a nice place for a quick lunch, watch the game, or for a date.

Hmm. As crazy busy as this place has been, I really expected more. The service was great; it hasn’t been open very long, but the host and wait staff worked like a well-​oiled machine to get us on the wait list, and then seated. Our waiter was excellent.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the same standards. My husband liked his French Dip, but it was pretty cold when it arrived. My son’s nachos were really light on the meat and cheese and way too heavy on the refried beans.
I ordered a side sampler with beans, corn, and broccoli. There are very few veggie options on the menu, and after my food arrived I realized that absolutely nothing on my plate was vegan. The broccoli was buttered, the beans contained bacon. It was also cold when it arrived. With the exception of chips and salsa there is nothing on the menu I can eat.
For all the hype and talk, I thought this place would be great, and was sorely disappointed. The food was cold, ill-​prepared, and there isn’t anything on the menu for special diets. There is no way I’m spending my money at this place again.

Disappointed! Was a looking forward to dinner here but was very disappointed. We were sat in the bar area and the bartender was our server. He was busy at times but also stood around a lot and paid little attention to us. The salad and soup came out after dinner plates. The ribs, that were recommended, were dry and took an hour to chew one bite. The loaded potato was «loaded» with a few strands of cheese and a dollop of sour cream, maybe two degrees above room temperature. I could have dropped the kids burger on the ice at one of my beer league hockey games and we would have not known the difference. The place is less than a year old and already the bar is falling apart and a restroom mirror is missing. I would not recommended this to anyone. The leftovers will likely skip the dog dish and land in the dumpster. The only positive was that one of the three beers on tap was cold.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE !!!
Appetizer came out and was great– chicken strips
Went in at 8pm on a Tuesday they were out of spasagna which is fine since she told us right away.
We ordered our food and when it came out they told us our side dishes were out. (Macaroni and mashed potatoes) we ordered the chicken fried chicken which is supposed to come with mashed potatoes and we were angry they didn’t tell us before or we wouldn’t have ordered it. They asked if we wanted different sides, we ordered them. They NEVER came. We were done with our food and she asked if we still wanted them. We said no.
She never refilled our drinks or waters.
The Alfredo pasta was cold when I got it. So I had it sent back. I told her to reheat it and she said they will remake it. I got it back and it was luke warm. Like they put it in the microwave for 30 seconds and stirred it up and sent it back out to me. It was terrible.
We asked her to take something off our bill. She «talked» to the manager and offered us chocolate cake instead.
We declined and asked for a discount. We had our appetizer removed from the bill. The manager never came out to speak to us.

Always reliable, always good and this time topped off with incredible service. Kylie was efficient without rushing us out the door and the food was great from the Dijon Mushroom chicken with Broccoli casserole and Mac and Cheese to the trip shot desserts. My niece and had a fabulous Birthday Lunch.

Cheddar’s in Cedar Rapids was outstanding last Friday night. Sheely is the best server we’ve EVER had anywhere!
We ordered the cookie dessert which arrived a little cold. The manager immediately came over, apologized, offered to remake it and take it off our bill. Even though it wasn’t like they normally make it, it tasted great and we ate it all.
Everything else was phenomenal, quick refills, great tasting food, large portions and very reasonable prices. I can’t recommend it any stronger.

Fast, simple and yummy. Mac and cheese is the best around. Nice atmosphere with inexpensive food! You can definitely ball on a budget here and not feel like you’ve resorted to mcdonalds! Cheesecurds are yummy here too
