We went after the lunch rush and the place was almost empty, the waitress was very nice and attentive. We had the Monte Cristo and The Belfast Sub-versive they were both very good and the Guinness was very tasty. The Beer Batter Fries were very good, they a nice crunchy outside and a soft center, had to back off the fries so I could eat all my sandwich. The wife’s monte cristo must have been good she didn’t say a word the whole time the sandwich was still on her plate.

It is a shame the service was so bad, because the food was very good. I think they just way understaffed.

Good food(the salads are huge) and cold beer. Only drawback, we were with a birthday party and they didn’t have the air on and it was extremely hot. When we mention it to our waitress, she said it is really hot in here and I’ll see what I can do. Well, nothing ever came about it.

After eating there I won’t go back. The steak was half fat, my salad got there before my tater skins and when I went to use the bathroom there was no latching device on the door to the stall

Came here on a Friday night after a Kernels game. The crowd was interesting. Very mixed in a good way, pretty young and wild in a bad way… so interesting will suffice! The DJ was even more interesting, more like pitiful. Perhaps it’s my experience with DJ’s in larger cities that makes his performance seem so inept, but this guy was as effective as a pre-established play list! The songs he chose were pretty good, but he definitely didn’t play to the crowd. He would decide to play slow songs in between two fast paced songs and would totally kill the vibe and the dance floor would clear. He also played complete songs from beginning to end with no mixing at all… as in the song plays all the way out and there is a noticeable pause before the next song plays. Again, an iPod playlist would be more effective. Pandore, even! But atleast they have a DJ, many places have only a juke box and that is just lazy! Drinks were decently priced, and the staff did a good job of clearing empty cups. There are also a few pool tables to occupy your time. I’d return a few more times if I had nothing else to do!

Knew this place was a «must see» when in Iowa and it was awesome! Our server Jo was a delight, have her make the Irish Punch. It was super good! The owners were in and made us feel like family. Oh and let me tell you, the Beer Fries are unbelievable… you have to have a basket. Wow! Keep up the good work team Blake! You have a gem in downtown Cedar Rapids!

I love this place. The $ 2 Guinness drafts on Wednesday makes me wish I didn’t work on Thursdays! Add in the best damn Reuben that I’ve ever had and you have a perfect marriage of food and beverage. I didn’t get the name of our server, but she was a sweetie and took great care of us.

Tonight I was overcharged for pint I did not order or have. Whne I questioned my bill I was quickly berated by staff and customers at the bar; instead of attempting to correlate the charges I was being asked to pay I was thrown out of the bar. The listed telephone number does not connect to an active line and the website does not offer an active email address to send comments to. I am the active duke of this bar, showing that I have visited this place on dozens of occasions. I have always been respectful to staff and paid my tab into the hundreds of dollars on several nights. All I did was question the charge of 2 pints more than I ordered and I was literally thrown of this bar for doing so. It just shows that places like this do not exist for local patrons, rather they intend to gather money from younger folk who don’t know what actual service entails. Plenty of homophobes in the place as well — while I was contesting my charges I was called a ‘fag’ by multiple customers at bar, in addition to other unseemly phrases. Best avoid this white-trash pseusdo-irish clown show. Plenty of D-bags with coiffed hair and not much intelligence in the crowd. You can;t even have dinner without being a target for ignorant BS and customers who feel they need to get involved when the bar overcharges you… ***all attempts to contact the owner or actual management of this business were rebuffed by bar staff who repeatedly handed the phone to other ‘staff’. This is not a professionally-run establishment and they cannot be bothered to check recorded footage to investigate overcharging or other matters, but would rather ‘ban’ anyone who challenges their charges.

I was right — great happy-hour drink specials($ 2 drafts on Wednesdays), a pretty laid back and quiet atmosphere, and a good selection. For happy hour at least, Dublin’s is A-OK.

My first time at this establishment, I was asked to leave because one of the workers had a problem with one of my friends there. We had all paid for drinks and we’re bothering no one at all when the man asked us to leave. When our male friend refused to leave before finishing the drink he had paid for they threatened to call the cops on us. They offered no refund or time to just finish our drinks and then go. This unprofessional environment is the worst place to drink I recommend it to no one.

Went in here yesterday afternoon before the WWE Live event and the food was excellent, my friends split a 4-Cheese pizza and a basket of Bacon-Cheddar Waffle Fries while I ordered a ruben w/Waffle Fries and a bowl of their Guinness Chili. First the Chili was amazing, a nice thick blend with a very unique flavor, not to spicy but with a really good kick. The Bacon cheddar waffle fries were very good, about what you would expect anywhere else. Nice amount of real melted cheese on them, but a little short on the Bacon. The pizza was very good, Thin Crust Brick-Oven style pizza, with a lot of cheese on it, very thin on sauce as is with this style. If you like that style of pizza, this would be good for you. If you are like me abd like a thicker Chicago style, this may not be the pizza for you. I am very pleased to report that the Ruben sandwich at the Dublin Inn is AMAZING!!! After having many a ruben in my life, I am pleased to say this is one of my favorites. The Beef is an amazing slow roasted, hand cut, not sliced cut of corned beef. The kraut was very rich and not overpowering served on great fresh rye bread. With a good slathering of dressing on it. The restaurant and bar where almost empty when we were there.(it was in the midst of a pretty heavy snowstorm) but the one waitress working was very friendly, fast, and knowledgeable of the product. Service was quick and the food was great, the place is very clean with the traditional Irish Pub décor you would expect. My only complaint is a minor one, the resturant seemed very cold.(I also see that I am not the first Unilocaler to say this.) I would have appreciated if the restaurant was warmer on the cold snowy day. But other than that, everything else was great. I most definitely plan to visit The Dublin Inn again the next time I am in Cedar Rapids.

Dublin is a great Irish bar! Love the look and size of this bar. Went there during the day so didn’t see what service and stuff is like when busy. Not a ton of beers on tap but for some reason we just had a lot of fun there. A couple of games to play and I heard that the upstairs part of the bar is a good time but didn’t make it up there. Will be back next time we are up in the CR area!

Went here over a lunch break while in business in Cedar Rapids. It was a wicked-fridgid cold day in February. I only mention that because I never could seem to get warm for the entire visit. I settled in and then put my coat back on because it was chilly inside. The atmosphere was casual with Irish music and a Celtic theme to the walls. High top tables and a sports bar feel to the place. The waitress was exceptional. Attentive, friendly, and got eveything right. A-plus for that part of the visit! Due to my feeling chilled, I couldn’t get myself to order anything besides the basic comfort food — boring burger and onion rings. It was okay. Big. But then for $ 9 it better be. The onion rings were good too. I snarfed it all down prety quick as I was starving too. They did have some interesting options on the menu and if I ever went back, when it wasn’t negative nine outside, maybe I would give it a try… Overall, not bad, but my experience wasn’t spectacular. Good enough to go again if in the mood for Irish themed sandwiches.

I am reviewing this place strictly as a bar have never eaten here. As a bar Dublin’s is great they have a wide drink selection and fast service. They also have lots do such as play pool, play darts, and some other games as well. In my time going here I have never had any problems highly recommend it as a bar.

My friends and I stopped in here after the fights last night to get food and beer. We split a pizza and each ordered our own burgers. The food was great and they had cold Fat Tire on draft so I was a happy camper. The service was also good. My only complaint is that they had multiple songs playing at once. Which would be ok if the bar was larger, but it’s a cozy, relatively small pub. At one point there was a dub step song, hip hop song and a rock song playing at the same time that combined to make a sort of musical vomit. With all that said, this place did its job for three guys looking to gorge on some tasty pub food.

A decent place to stop in for a pint if you’re traveling through Cedar Rapids and looking for a place close to the highway. Service was a bit… scattered, to say the least. I’m fairly certain the woman who greeted us and took drink orders did not actually work at DCP. This led to some confusion when it cam time to close our tab. DCP is definitely decked out to the max with décor. You will know you’re in an Irish-themed pub even if you ignore the name. The record album covers on one of the walls were a very nice touch. Can’t speak to the food, as we simply stopped in for a few pints before a friend’s wedding reception. I should comment that the Cherry Coke was the richest I’ve ever experienced. Real grenadine for the flavoring, folks. That was worth the stop. Not sure I would return unless I was in the area, but overall DCP gets a 3-star«A-OK» rating.

My opinion of this place has dropped like the IQ of their«security» staff. I was rudely escorted out while helping with a fundraiser for Habitat. It didn’t matter that the bartender told them he gave me permission and none of the customers(who were quite generous) had an issue it. We were pretty regular until then. Never again.

We stopped in on a trip to Michigan over Labor Day weekend for a break from the road and a lunch that did not involve a value meal. This is the first time we’ve ever been through Cedar Rapids and picked this spot based on the reviews and the central location close to the highway. Over all we were so very pleased! The place is in a section of downtown that was hit hard by the flood from 2008 but has been restored to perfection. It has every classic touch of a ware-house-Irish-local pub; big double doors, exposed brick, dark carpet, and a long bar. They have a respectable selection of beers on tap and stupidly cheap happy hours. 2 $ pints, if I remember correctly. We split the Ruben sandwich and a salad. The Ruben was cooked to perfection. Meat piled high on crispy grilled rye bread slices. The salad was basic but satisfying. Our server was attentive, polite and timely. She did a good job sensing we did not intend to linger. We made it in and out in about 30 minutes. The only thing that was a let down was that they don’t offer entrees during the lunch hour. I suppose it was my fault for not reading into this more before stopping. However, we plan on trying Dublin City again for dinner on our next trip.

Met up with some friends here last weekend. Probably won’t be back. This is a pretty nice place during the day/early afternoon but apparently turns into the place where all of the trashy-but-they-don’t-know-it biatches hang out. Yowzers. No one looked like they were having even a teeny bit of a nice time. The staff, the bouncers(joke), the customers… it just felt awkward and tense in there. With my previous trips here, I never would have guessed it transformed into this kind of place. Décor, menu and atmosphere come across as more grown up than this. Or maybe I’m just getting old.

Either I’m getting over Dublin or it’s going down hill. The change of staff behind the bar is not good. I watched the one bartender for a while Friday night and I swear she did not smile once. Not. Once. I’m not asking for a foolish grin all night, but a smile when I hand you a $ 2 tip for getting my drink would be nice. Or, I dunno, maybe even a friendly«What can I get ya?» instead of just looking at me with that angry mug. Other than cranky bartenders, Dublin is still one of the nicest bars in the down town area. It’s probably the newest, it’s pretty big, and the crowd is usually pretty fun. Get more friendly bartenders please.
