Wow! It’s not quite Sally’s or Pepe’s but a darn good pizza! The New Haven style refers to the free form in a baking sheet but otherwise it’s a New York Napolitano pie. The sausage and mushroom pie was legit. Don’t forget to ask the super knowledgeable staff about the local beers. This is a gem!

Yum. Yum. Yum. Need was a hit! Friendly and capable server. Great beer list. Delicious salad and pizza with the most amazing sauce and crust. Crunchy and toothy at the same time. Good people, good vibe (even on a Tuesday night)! I left very happy and excited to return.

Need pizza is everything that Cedar Rapids needed, especially down town. The food is phenomenal, they have the best beer selection in town, their staff is amazing, and the owners are the hardest working people I’ve met! They serve food late which is perfect for the late night bar dwellers, and the interior is awesome. Great art, pinball, and activities to keep your rugrats busy:) make sure to stop, you won’t be disappointed!

My favorite place in Cedar Rapids for lunch and dinner pies. Several outlets for busy professionals with laptops for lunch and great atmosphere for group dinners. Savvy owners there often, slinging great pizza and beers.

I really like the superfood salad but seems like it comes out of a bag you can get at Costco. Not that I mind too much as I am a fan of Need!

Went there for the first time last night. e always buy a large pizza where ever we go, just so we have extra to take home. The large at Need Pizza was HUGE. The price for that size pizza is incredible. Will diffidently be going here on a regular basis. The service was second to none and the time it took the pizza to come out is exactly what an impatient person loves. Not one negative thing. We eat pizza all over the world and this has to be up there in the top 5. Dead serious.
We arrived at 5 PM and there was just a few people. By the time we got our pizza the place was ½ full. And by the time we left it was packed. Just to give you an idea when to show up on a night during the week.

Need Pizza is awesome. Good pizza & rotating selection of good craft beer, cool atmosphere, and they serve food late, which is rare for Cedar Rapids. The owners seem to work their asses off and are nice guys too.

Had a great pizza with a great beer selection. Would’ve gotten 5 stars but their refrigerator wasn’t working, so we could get an appetizer or a salad. Where were they keeping all the meat, veggies, and cheese for the pizza??? Nevertheless, the pizza was tasty and beer was cold. (Maybe that’s where they were keeping everything). Will definitely give it another try!

visited for our first time tonight. Our waitress, Liz, was outstanding. Super informative and provided great recommendations. My husband got a BBQ sauce pizza with mashed potato, bacon, and onion and he loved everything about it. He ordered a small, which was huge; we brought 4 pieces home. I had just an individual pizza, with red sauce and basic toppings, which was very good too. The crust is great, the beer selection is fabulous, and overall, the pizza is simply fantastic!

Delicious pizza and they have vegan cheese on request which is great for my wife and I. Also an awesome beer selection and fun atmosphere that includes chalk boards by the booths and ping pong in the back.

Visited for the second time, this being a Sunday evening. The place was busy considering not much going on downtown on a Sunday night.
Having been here before, we know that ordering personal pizzas is the way to go. I ordered a 2 topping personal, my mate ordered one topping. They have a good selection of toppings.
Appetizers seem to be a bit expensive. And ordering larger pizzas with multiple toppings can really inflate the bill.
It took about 15 minutes to get our pizzas hot out of the oven. Crust was perfectly done, and the toppings were very nice.
Server was very friendly and courteous, just a tad bit slow on the drink refill.
The back room has a ping pong table which could be troublesome if you are seated back there with some ‘active’ pre-​teens playing.
Not a fancy place, but not shabby by any means. A few TVs in the bar area, which is separated from the main ding area by a high divider.
Seems like they had a very good to-​go order business as well.

My favorite new pizza place in CR. The restaurant itself has a really nice set up and a «hipsteresque» vibe to it. The pizza is delicious and comes in huge portions. I wish there was better parking surrounding the restaurant, both times I’ve went it’s has challenging parking. Also there is not a clear sign on the outside, so it is difficult to find for first time goers. Need Pizza is a must visit for locals!

The pizzas there are absolutely delicious. Must try the beer cheese !
They also have a great selection of beers — both local Iowa brews and from other places.
Staff is friendly. They have 5 TVs and a ping pong table.

Lots of good pizza and so many good beers on tap, I would stay here all night if I could, I can’t even remember all the beers there but almost all I hadn’t tried before, and the pizza was big but not too thick or filling, would easily go back here

When it comes to pizza in downtown this is the place you want to be! Husband is also a fan of the huge beer selection. Loved the guacamole salad. It was big enough for 2 to share and we still finished off our individual pizzas. So many pizza options and the crust is divine. Always busy as it seems to be the new place to go. This restaurant will last though because of the good service and great food. Expect a wait during busy times.

Need Pizza is great, even if you’re just stopping for a drink. Their pizza is pretty yummy too. My favorite is BBQ Chicken, onions and mashed potatoes. That’s right, mashed potatoes on a pizza… so good! The staff is always top notch, the energy is always electric and the tunes find you moving in your seat. Another plus is their ping pong table in the back.

This might be my new favorite pizza! Great atmosphere — great service — Cody was fantastic and one of the owners came by later to check on things. We had the chicken/​spinach/​artichoke with white sauce — yum! And the skillet chocolate chip cookie put it over the top! Totally recommend!

Finally Cedar Rapids got a great pizza place! I’ve visited a few times since opening and can’t wait to go back. The owners of this gem really seem to care about the quality of their product. I’ve only had pizza with vegetables but I really want to try one of their daily specials. Their daily specials seem to be very different and fun toppings for a pizza. I think this pizza place is here to stay!

Recently visited Need with some coworkers and we left with happy bellies. The crust is amazing, the ingredients were good, and the beer selection rocked. The décor was new and modern, the old refrigerators in the bar were super cool. However, you can tell this place is new and still getting the hang of things.
I was impressed by the host who was dressed up and danced around a little, you could tell he loved his job. To my surprise it was his first night! He was kind, knowledgeable and fun.
I will say the menu is a tad confusing (you basically have a list of ingredients and have to build your own pizza) but the staff and owners have great suggestions and a weekly pizza they feature which was yummy!
Great job Need, I will be back!

Excellent pizza, questionable service.
Top-​notch ingredients (plus some oddball ones), amazing hand-​stretched crust, overall delicious pies.
Normally I’d be a lot harder on the service, but they’ve only been open for a couple of weeks. That said, watch the wait-​staff carefully to make sure they don’t lose your order or forget you.
