We love pizza! And «good» pizza is really hard to find. This place is amazing! SOOO AMAZING! The service was exceptional! The pizza was delicious! We got the cheese bread to start with, a pepperoni pizza for the kids, and the 6 topping special– Detroit style! We can’t wait to go back again!

Excellent new York thin crust! Great cheese that doesn’t taste bland like zoeys! It was odd that the oregano was on top though, as I’ve never seen it before. Still tasted amazing! The décor is very home goods !

We had two Detroit — style pizzas. it was very tasty, cheesy, with good crust and sauce. Service may have been a little slow given the small crowd, but we enjoyed the food very much.

Ruby’s is consistently delicious. I don’t know what else to say besides that. We haven’t ever had a bad experience there. Kyle has been our server every time has been extremely attentive and cheerful. Everyone always seems so happy to be there.
I’ll be sad when I don’t just live down the street.

Best in town! We started looking when our usual spot went downhill. Great bread, great sauce, homemade toppings. And they actually care about presentation! Super cleaning dining room and kitchen, friendly staff. Open Mondays, too!

Love the Detroit crust. The Caesar salad not too special though. I could make a better one at home but the dressing was tasty. They have two outdoor tables. Being a downtown location they are busiest at lunch. They do several lunch specials and are pretty fast with them. Locally owned. Has quickly become a downtown favorite.

Parking downtown can be a challenge, but by all means make this a place to get your Za on.
Lotsa beers to choose from, better than average service, great value!

I would put Ruby’s in the top 3 pizzas I have ever eaten. I have ate pizza all over the United States and this is by far the best. It is the best pizza in town by far. Ruby’s has a great environment, reasonable prices and great staff. Every time I have been here I have left having had a great pizza and a great time, I highly recommend this establishment.

Really nice vibe inside and the staff was attentive. But I was a bit disappointed in the pizza. I ordered the margherita, and while it had mozzarella, tomato, and basil, my first thought when it arrived to the table was, «have these people seen a margherita pizza before?» It tasted fine, but I’d file it under ‘meh’. New York style with gobs of cheese (did not appear to be fresh Moz), chunks of tomato, and shredded basil. I’ll give them another try at some point and may modify my review.

Yum! The favorite combination that I try everywhere (pepperoni, sausage, and jalapeño) was enjoyed here, too. This pizza was delicious and rocked my world today!
I loved the thin crust. It was the perfect blend of being thin, flavorful, and not too crispy — just right!
The cheese was plentiful and, as one reviewer said, «thick». I believe might be using whole milk mozzarella. cheese. It’s «the good stuff» and you don’t find it many places. (clue — it feels thick and doesn’t get as stringy as the less expensive stuff). The cheese flavor is outstanding.
The sauce is tasty and in the right proportion I loved it. There is just the right balance of tomato taste and seasonings. It compliments the crust and cheese beautifully.
I would confidently bring a friend, date, client, relative, etc. to Ruby’s. The place is clean, service is great, and the product is fantastic.
If I had to use just one word to describe the pizza today it would be «uncompromising».

Nice place, clean and uncluttered. The small kitchen area behind the counter tells the tale of what goes on here.
A medium chicago style is more than enough for several other meals for one person, could feed 3 with ease. The Chicago style has the sauce on top with deeper crusts. They also have New York and Detroit style as well.
Beer and stuff to wash it down, I didnt dine in so can’t comment on selection or pricing. The pie itself wasn’t the cheapest but came heavy and hot (ohhhh baby) and the wait was worth it. 50 minutes from order to ready, so be prepared to have some family time or call ahead. Would be a great spot for a pre-​show meal.

We were in town visiting family and wanted something different to eat. Walked around downtown Cedar Rapids and decided on Ruby’s after asking someone leaving the restaurant if it was good (who was quick to say it was, and they have good lunch specials by the slice).
Restaurant was very clean and not too busy at 1:30 on a Monday afternoon. Walked up to the counter and ordered a medium taco pizza for our group of 3 and sat down. Took about 15 mins for the pizza to come out, but it was delicious!
The taco pizza is on a thin NY style crust with ground beef, tomatoes, black bean paste, small jalepanos (not too much heat), cool ranch Doritos, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream, with taco sauce on the side. The medium had 6 big slices, but we cut them in half so they were easier to pick up and eat. There were so many toppings that we couldn’t finish the whole pizza among the 3 of us.
Coming from the east coast, this is my first encounter with a taco pizza and I’m glad it was so good. I’ll be telling everyone back home how delicious taco pizza is for months!

If you want pizza in the downtown area, this is where you need to go! Owners were previously owners to Mr. Beans, so they know how to successful restaurant for the downtown peeps.
I’ve had the Taco pizza, on New York (thin) crust a couple times and it is always good. Topped with Doritos and drizzled with sour cream. Be sure to read the description so you’re ready for the black bean base & jalapenos. I like just-​a-​little spice and this was perfect for me.
Last time I was in, I made it my mission to try the Detroit crust. I’m used to Tomaso’s Detroit, so I was surprised when it was brought out. Ruby’s Detroit is not as thick, less sauce and the cheese doesn’t run all the way to the edges. The dough and sauce was still very good.
I used to work at another local pizza place, so I am aware how long it should take to make pizzas of all kinds. This is why I surprised that it took about 45+ min for the Detroit to be ready. It wasn’t very busy, so I hope this is something they improve upon.

A friend of mine brought a pizza from Ruby’s to the house… LOVED it!
Sauce wass AWESOME… full of flavor unlike most pizza places that just spread on
plain old tasteless tomatoe sauce. This sauce has flavor.
Crust is AWESOME! Different. Hard to describe… it’s like not dough… not a cracker. Sorry for bringing in that reference… but crunchy… it ROCKS!
Cheese was THICK! You don’t have to order extra cheese… wich is the way it should be damn
it!
This was one try. One time. Delivered?And it still rocked. Pepperoni and cheese.
The closest I have had in this town to Leonardos-​The best pizza in the known and unknown GALAXY… LOL
